As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

I moved to Halifax from India. Lived there 2 years, moved to Etobicoke then Kitchener, then Waterloo and now leaving in Brampton.\nIts been 7 years in Canada and 1.5 years in Brampton.\n\nWhen someone asks me why you live in Brampton, it’s unsafe city or ghetto. I am like hell no, never leaving Brampton. Brampton is safe city compare to some other GTA cities, look at statistics. Its just have bad name because of lots of south asian people.\n\nBrampton is brampton, only place I feel belonged and enjoying living in Canada with little Indian tweest. \n\nBrampton takes away our dependency on cooking during hectic days as restaurants are hell cheap, easy to find home-cooked tiffin with lots of options. Main reason easy to find Gujarati foods and other vegetarian food. Tons of pure vegetarian Indian restaurants in Brampton.\n\nGreat feelings come when you are tried and don’t want to cook and at same time don’t want to eat in restaurants then home-cooked food is always available to your neighbourhood for just 6-7 dollar.

Canada was founded only for white Europeans. It was never intended for people of colour. There is a simple solution here.. go back to your home country, you are not breaking the law by being there. If you want to move to the U.S. or Canada, apply to move there legally. Not sure why this is so difficult for people to understand, it is not that damn complicated.

I live in Houston Texas. People often say that Mexicans take jobs that no one else will do. That may have been true at some point but now that we are overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants every business only hires Mexicans that speak perfect Spanish and not so perfect English. So blacks, whites and other cultures are stuck! If I wanted to live in Mexico I would move there and learn their language why do they refuse to learn ours? I love every Mexican that I have met. I also love water but I do not want to be dropped into the middle of the ocean. There are at least 350 languages spoken in America why are we bending over backwards 2 make our country bilingual to Spanish and not all the other languages?

Our countries can NOT take in millions upon millions of people and not have severe consequences in ALL areas. Why cant people understand this? We cant take in the entire 3rd world and support them. People who can't speak the national language shouldn't be moving to another country especially not illegally. I can't feel sorry for this guy. A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

When moving to a country , it is expected that you will assimilate.. if you do not want to, then return to your own country. You came for freedom, so don’t bring your oppression with you. \nPlease think!!

If you have problems feeling discriminated in mostly white countries, move to countries where you are the racial majority. I felt seriously discriminated against in Japan, but I do not hold it against them at all- I just wouldn't want to live there.

Native Americans have trouble with drinking I have rented to native Americans several times and it has never worked out once the money from their grants run out or once they fall off the wagon and start drinking again they end up getting evicted I have tried several times it has always been a disaster many of them have come to me saying they have a drinking problem they've stopped drinking they want to move to get away from their friends that they drink with and if I would give them an opportunity they would be very appreciative a month or two later they are beating up each other it's not my fault that Native Americans have a drinking problem it's also not my fault that need of Americans get a lot of government money and do not hold jobs in a disproportionate percentage of their population

Now I get it...When I am looking around at things to shop, one of the store staff is constantly with me, whichever way I move. I always thought they just want to be there to help. I can't shop longer with someone constantly watching me browsing through. After 5 min, it builds up pressure and I quit.
