As a Canadian moving to the U.S, I can tell you for sure that Canada is a divided country headed for economic ruin. We lose at everything, we cannot build projects without unbearable red tape, approve any energy projects or really provide any economic value at this point. Canada is the only First world country that is headed backwards towards third world country status. I love this country, it has all the raw ingredients (Great people, Fun culture, Endless resources to extract) and we still manage to fail at the federal level. Take it from a born and raised Canadian who is being forced out of my own country.

If Canada wants to boost immigration. Allow permanent residents to join the armed forces. And be truly multi-cultural. \nWouldn’t it make sense for the olive branch?

As an American I’m literally embarrassed of my country reading these comments. It’s so sad that a country depicted to be this melting pot of cultures has turned so corrupt. I’m sorry to all those in Canada who are gonna be screwed from the US’s clownery.

I've lived in both. Canada is a better place to raise your family for sure, and as a society I think it's a better place to live. It's cleaner, safer, and more diverse (and I'm talking real diversity like Aba mentioned, not segregation). There's some cool stuff about the States, don't get me wrong, but my girlfriend (who is American and has visited Canada with me) and I are strongly contemplating moving to Canada. The US has a better night life culture generally speaking and like Aba said there's more to do, but generally speaking I just want a peaceful and simple life.

Do yourself a favour and stay in the US. Trust me, you will regret picking Canada. Our shelter costs here are absurd and we have a government that flirts with communism. People easily give up their freedoms for safety. Broken health care system. Chaotic place with a lack of cultural identity, selfish people, divided country. Full of woke virtue signallers. Our young generations hate the old. Western canada and quebec don't even like the rest of Canada. Divided place with crime rates quickly rising, country is quickly turning into a dumpster fire. It's a good place though if you are a boomer because you just keep feeding off the younger generation and the immigration keeps pushing up home equity that you can use as an ATM. They are running towards a different kind of poverty here. Some of the places they are running from (mexico), economically have potentially brighter futures than here. The kids might be kicking the parents for this when they get older and see the places where they came from, have better standards of living than the place they fled too. India included, they have the potential to become an economic power house. We hardly produce anything here, and our government chokes off our natural resource exports. We have too big of government, too many regulations, too many taxes. Who would do business in Canada? Name a Canadian company other than shopify. Blackberry... Oh wait its dead. Canada is becoming one big California with crappy weather. I wish Alberta joined the US tbh.\n\nSummed up. Canada is a big ponzi scheme that relies on the greater fool theory. At some point it will get harder to attract fools to want to come here. We are lazy and non-productive, our GDP relies on a housing bubble. We also have this smug arrogance over here like we are somehow better than Americans.

I was a backpacker in Australia and I have family that migrated 25 years ago. I think you should have spent more time up north. Loads of lovely photos to take in Broome. Go deep in the outback and meet the indigenious communities. I was invited to closed land and got to experience and see the indigenious holy land. I know ''PERTH'' is regional but regional true regional is where the culture is. I was obviously there for a different experience but from a photography point of view there is a lot to be seen. Cape Tribulation Groote Eylandt. Housing wise it is mega expensive and flights would make my eyes water flying back to the UK. I totally get what you are saying regarding immigration. It seems to be all about what visa you are on which becomes grating. I was in oz from 2013-16 then moved on to Canada. Fresh produce is not that great in Canada and it was cold. Those are my only complaints.

Canada is such a wonderful country. If people knew the culture and the way citizens are versus America, they would be flocking the Canadian border.

It's interesting that these ladies feel free to say that they feel more comfortable in their own culture. And that sometimes their own community in Canada is not enough, and they want to go home for a while to be with their own culture more fully. Canadians are so stupid they'll probably re-elect Justin. Canada's immigration policy thanks to the Trudeaus, is making sure that Canadians founding peoples and cultures will rapidly become a slim minority and be taken over by third-world toilet cultures. Canada deserves to self-destruct.

I'm currently living in USA and visited Canada back in 2019. I loved my time in Canada overall and it felt more racially diverse, safer, and cleaner than my home country. However, both countries have similarities in vibe, topography, background and culture.

I've been to Canada a couple of times to Hamilton (outside of Toronto) because my mom's childhood friend from Manchester, UK lives there and I went to the states for a few weeks to Florida, DC and NYC on a massive trip.\n\nWhat struck me is how fit Canadian women are compared to US women. Also, how genuinely friendly and humble Canadians were compared to the brash know it all attitude of Americans. I was really looking forward to America cause I was raised on its culture here in the UK. I stayed in Montreal and visited Quebec (I had a bit of culture shock being in Montreal because of how CLEAN the city was. Compared to places like Philadelphia and NY). Without a doubt the quality of food is different in Canada vs. the states. For the first time I ate Nox for breakfast in Montreal (Salmon with cream cheese on a bagel) and was like wow this is good! When I ate it back home, the taste, texture was different. \n\nMontreal Nox tastes like and had the texture of salmon. Where as in the US it's like mushy and a bit jellish.

America is still probably the best place in the world to make money even without an education n why so many people want to go - unfortunately due to woke culture even the nicest places in Europe (n Canada) are no longer safe which is why I'll never leave Texas n give up my guns - when I get old n retire I'll do so in a holy place in India however

Canada big ups. Definitely, when I have been to the states, the racial segregation was one of the biggest surprises. Being from Toronto, you'll legit have every culture within 1 floor of 1 apartment building. Then go to like Jersey, and not see a single black person in an entire neighborhood. I REALLY like the diversity of Canada, at least in the big cities. Happy to be raising our daughter here, we actually went out of our way to ensure the daycare we put her in was pretty diverse. \nNow, in our small towns, shit gets a little.... I don't wanna say RACIST per se, but definitely a lack of cultural diversity. Having been born in NY and raised in Toronto for 13/14 yrs I agree there are pro/cons to living in both. I would say that quality of life is much better in Canada. Being Jamaican I appreciated the concentration of the Caribbean diaspora in Canada. From my perspectives different cultures are tolerated in the US vs accepted in Canada.

There is no country more similar to America than Canada. I've lived in many different Countries throughout my life however my experiences in the states and Canada were very similar. The only major difference was safety and in Canada, there is not as much classism. If your poor in America its going to suck however you will have it much easier in Canada. I think if you got money America is a better nation for you. However if your poor/low middle class Canada is a better place for you. But overall I find both nations to be very similar culturally. In my view, Americans and Canadians are essentially the same people.

To confirm as an American. Yes, it seems like everyone wants to put hot sauce and cheese on everything and it's annoying. The tap water here is bad unless you get it from the fridge or have a filter. Here in Arkansas, I think our spring water is great.\n\nRegarding the city and getting around to restaurants and other areas, pretty much. A good portion of our factories are on acres of land. However, some are still close enough that you can walk to. I'm certain this is hardly different from Canada but we are 97% rural. People think of America as big cities but usually its the local town and a pumpkin patch. I see a lot of people mention safety and this is what I can say; I felt my safety was compromised by a tornado warning. Trouble can happen but if you don't deal drugs or do some under the table stuff, usually you won't be a victim of a crime. \nI'm planning on owning some land myself so I can shoot on it, farm, and raise a family. Just be independent.

The grass really was greener on the other side when I went to Canada. The first time I came up there, it was a complete culture shock, and it’s only right over the border! Like people have always had it better in Canada though in many ways. That’s why enslaved people used to migrate there. More peace.

I'm a born and raised Canadian, but my friends and my fiancé are all from the USA, so I've got a firsthand look at the differences in our cultures and countries.\n\nOne thing I'll say right off the bat, I think a big part of what makes Canada work the way it does, is that we have such a small population compared to the USA.\n\nCanada only has around 35 million people, but there are some states in the USA that have over 40 Million people on their own. \n\nWhen you have that many people crammed together in one location, all fighting for jobs and housing and food and everything, it makes sense why you might have a culture that's a lot louder and self serving, because you have to compete with millions of people if you really want to make something of yourself.\n\nMy hometown of Edmonton Alberta, for example, we had a population of just 500,000. And I think the laid back attitude that a lot of people have in Canada is a product of that. \n\nThat's a big reason our crime levels would appear lower as well, because there's just a lot less of us.

I think it was a good comparison because you had relatable pros and cons. The tape water is correct 100%. I have only tasted good tap water in one town in the US. \n\nThe racial stuff is definitely something the US could learn a few things from with Canada. Toronto does not define the identity of Canada . Just like Vancouver 50 % of the population was not born in Canada and mainly asians .\n\nthe best city is Montreal . 400 years of history, culture , best food , mix of New York, Paris and London ... people are bilingual and multilingual and nice . Montreal has the best night life , arts , science , parks and quality of life in Canada .

I’ve been to Canada (Toronto, Scarborough to be exact) at least 2-3 times when I was married to a Canadian and I can say that I had very good experiences except for dealing with some of the French. Definitely a culture shock in some aspects. The diversity is very strong which is a plus. Only downsides are the gun laws and the unavailability of sweet tea (yeah I’m southern). But overall Canada is very nice.\n\nBut one thing you’re not lying about is the WATER. Different locations in the states have different tasting water. If you want water that smell like eggs then Florida is your spot. If you want fresh water, buy a water well. \n\n\nYour experiences may vary.

Honestly feel like population is a huge factor between these 2 countries. The states each one is a different state different people run they all have different problems cultures idk why some people try comparing. Also as for tap water I work in that industry Canada treatment isn’t any different then down here it depends on the source and the process

As someone who lived in every continent except for Africa, I'd never go back to the U.S.A except if I got like a 200k+ salary in NYC or Chicago. Hell, I'd rather move to Mexico again cus of the culture and lifestyle. But Montreal is definitely the only city in Canada where I'd evne consider staying, but it's as always depedant of the salary (Vancouver but only downtown would also be an option).

Sounds like you're a immigrant yourself, there is like no racism at all, it's more like if you're a immigrant or your someone of a different culture you associate people having a problem with how you're doing things as if it's to do with your race and not your culture. When you relocate to a new country you are supposed to adopt the new culture. A Canadian finds it insulting for immigrants to come to a country and not try to integrate and be part of it. It's ignorant to come to another country and not respect their way and how they do things. Whether you like it or not there is a Canadian way and you need to do it when you come here. You do not come here and act like you do in your country you came from it's not the same thing. Nobody wants people going to their country acting like they do in the country they came from. And if the Immigrant can't get used to how things work here than they don't belong in the country they need to go to the country that is a home for them. Well the governments of Canada have made it illegal for us to express our views. As a white English Canadian I don't think most of us hate people because they came from abroad. If people came to Canada and actually became Canadians I don't think 90% of people have an issue with that. The problem is people are coming here and are not assimilating. Especially the people from Asian and African nations. But this is not surprising to me because their culture is so different from ours. I would prefer immigrants came from northern Europe especially the British Isles and France due to having a shared history, values, and culture similar to Canada. \n\nThe other issue is mass immigration mostly only benefits wealthy people because they get cheap labour. People coming from countries with a much lower standard of living are used to earning less and living with less so they depress wages for working people here. The so called skilled immigrants that our government tells us will solve all of our nations problems are not. No one recognizes their skills here so they end up taking jobs away from other Canadians. \n\nI think Canada's solution would be to stop relying on foreigners and invest in Canadian people. I would cut immigration levels by 75%. I would limit immigrant applicants to make up only 5% from one country. Also we should only allow Canadian citizens to own property. Dual citizenship should be eliminated. You should only be loyal to Canada. \n\nThe government should also stop spending money on Black lives Matter, criminals, drug addicts, and other socialist non-sense. Government spending and taxes should be cut in half and free enterprise should be encouraged. We should be using money towards infrastructure and education. We should be training Canadians to become engineers, doctors, and skilled tradesmen. I would rather invest in our own people that try to accommodate foreigners.

I feel I have to speak up, as a Quebecer, the common opinion in the population, especially in the old one is that they fought to have their own country but lost the vote by a tiny % so overall people feel resentful to Canada and the federal governement. Yeah they live in the past, I know, but if we look in history our ancestors had to fight the british over centuries, most of it was fought in institutions and laws, because Quebecers were catholic and british were protestant, also Quebec absolutely wanted to preserve the french language, this unique dialect we have in Quebec. I don't know why language matter so much, but it does. So yeah, maybe that's why Quebec is racist a little, because in order to have the stuff we have now, a lot of nationalistic leader had to be elected. And I completely agree with it, most people wont say mean stuff but they wont mix in with other cultures.
