Additionally, he has deceived and exploited construction workers with his projects, launched a fake university, and filed for bankruptcy six times. His most notable act is the first insurrection in U.S. history. This con artist holds the worst reputation both nationally and internationally, while the justice system and government have consented to a reckless individual. America has lost credibility both domestically and globally—all of this for one unworthy old man. The government can only blame the electorate for choosing someone who should never have been permitted to run for the presidency!

Trump, despite his self acclaimed reputation as an “economic genius”, would likely never raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and ensure corporations pay their fair share, as many currently pay nothing. Balancing the budget would also require curbing excessive military spendings, and if necessary, asking Americans to contribute slightly more, all to address our $36 trillion debt. It’s time to move beyond “art of the deal” Donald and focus on the real solution - CUT THE FRINGES AT THE BOTH END tough guy!

A billionaire like Trump will never reduce immigration, he just wants to silence immigrants to make it easier to exploit them

I live here for 14 years and I never had that privilege... and like millions of qualified immigrants, I spend a lot of money and effort and life to come to this place that was never home. I'm Latino from Texas that voted for Trump and I'm not ok with this approach of deporting people that have been in the US for 15-30yrs. I'm here because of Ronald Reagan, went to college have been contributing over half a million a year and paying taxes and my family have never asked for any money from the US. There are many like myself that have family members that will continue to contribute to the US.

If this is what it takes to teach these people who voted against their own friends and families, so be it. I have lost all sympathy for the right wing. They went full religiously driven nutty with an obsession with believing every little crazy story and never looked back. Everyone now has at least one relative who, on the surface, would appear to be a perfectly logical person but ask them to justify why they love Trump so much and they give you some totally wacky fact or false claim about some sort of random thing in our world like social security or trans people or immigration and cant seem to wrap their minds around the idea that it isn't true and that those claims are being used to manipulate them.

I was not far from where the Mexican National Mass Shooter killed 5 of his neighbors here in Texas last year, he was previously deported 4 times and had come right back again, his wife was here illegally his best friend who tried to hide him from authorities was here illegally and 4 out of 5 of his victims were ALSO here illegally and you just cannot make this stuff up people! People commenting here fail to realize that Latinos are arguably more conservative than the white men they love to hate. Those who voted for Trump did so because they are legal immigrants/citizens, aka, Americans. Aside deportation of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS benefiting them directly, they are also not down with the other Democrat platforms like Abortion and Trans/Gay advocacy. Mexico #1 form of legal GDP is the money that legal and illegal immigrants send back to Mexico that money never returns to the USA economy. They also affect supply and demand. So things cost more because there is a higer demand with less supplies and thats simply based on population. I voted Blue , but things like this is why Democrats lose the election. I knew an undocumented young woman who was living with her 1 yr old baby and her undocumented husband in NC. He started beating her up really badly so she called the cops. The cops arrested them both, even though he was the clear aggressor. They sent the baby off to cps and cps sent the child back to her extended family in Mexico. She spent 3 years in the county jail, never having access to proper medical care, fresh air & greenery or money for commissary or phone minutes. She was still in the early stages of learning English so she was unable to properly advocate for herself before she made bilingual friends and she couldn’t even read the English books in the county jail. Last I heard, she had finally been transported to a huge ICE detention facility in Georgia, but her case was still in limbo and she still had not seen her daughter 4 years later?\n\nShe was such a sweet young woman and what happened to her was so cruel, inhumane and totally undeserved. People who advocate for mass deportation are asking for millions of more stories just like hers, but with even more violence, since Trump would have to use storm troopers to do raids and papers checks so they can kidnap the 20 million people they want to deport.

This woman has no idea how messed up our current immigration system is. The fact that she thinks her deported cousins could successfully reapply or that she said “I stood in line for hours and days to get my green card” just shows how out of touch she is. She thinks that Trump sees her as an equal when he doesn’t. He doesn’t care about the difference between “illegal” or “legal” immigrants… he said non white immigrants are “poisoning the blood of America.” \nAnd as a Mexican born immigrant, she should never forget that the only thing protecting her is a green card, which can be revoked at any time. She is selfish and deluded. I am a daughter of a Taiwanese immigrant who watches Fox News every night and it drives me crazy. Y’all are no better than any illegal immigrant. We need more of them to sustain our low birth rate. Immigrants are awesome and there’s absolutely no good reason to inhumanely and violently deport immigrants. I have heard stories from friends of how inhumane the ICE detention centers are. They treat you like animals, worse than they treat US citizens who are murderers.

She was never invited to parties at school, so now she gets to join a party. I bet she secretly votes Harris, but doesn't let her new party friends know. That old lady is absolutely and outright lying. First off, she stood in lines for hour or days to get her green card? That means she came at a time when immigration was much easier and wanted, to increase gdp and to do the jobs normal Americans didn’t want to. Now, immigration takes forever, many years in fact, because the older republican white generation figured out that they yet again the minority, which has never actually changed. But republicans now use the immigration card because it’s literally their only option, why do you think Trump stopped the bill. He would be losing so much support. Also, for that old Mexican lady to say those things about her own family, tells me, she is not someone who cares for others or may even care at all. She became a racist just like the republicans and her family should be ashamed of her. Lastly, different times of immigration, this time around, those leaving other countries are trying to save their families lives, having to deal with authoritarian dictators, drug cartels and corrupt governments. She may have had some of that, but I doubt it, she just wanted to move here and make a better life for herself, screw her loved ones. She is an abomination and one of the reasons this country has lost itself, if a Mexican immigrant cannot feel sympathy or empathy for those people in a very similar situation than that person has truly been corrupted by the republicans “all about me” mantra.

This woman isnt wrong to want her family to gain legal status. I dont think voting for Trump would make that better. He won in 2016 and never did anything about it. \n\nPeople are allowed to disagree with her. But she has her reasons. If you want her and others like her. Be patient. The process is not the same as it was in the 80s when they did not require renewal every couple yrs w high $ and rules to return to home country for a set amount of time risking losing your home/job/business etc. Some renewal process for green cards have sped up but still takes 6-1yr and a new green card renewal and new one for Mexico can take 1-3yrs for approval. So someone that’s been here +20yrs will have to leave everything they have built here to go wait quite a long time. Its not if you agree how they got here, its what they have done in our country since being here. They add to our economy, +80% pay taxes to never get any of those benefits and they open businesses employing people etc. If they have been here committing a list of crimes then no i don’t agree but majority of immigrants don’t do that. I agree our border needs protection and security. Majority of the left do agree w that but gop don’t want solutions they want to just shut it down completely and thats not right. Im in Alberta even though i was born in Ontario. Ive lived in almost every province and came back to Alberta years ago. My boys were born here the 1st time i was here. I would never live in any other province but Alberta! We are more like our own Republic here anyways and despise Ottawa which is fine by me considering Trudeau is there. You're a good guy, Tyler...and very brave to take on such a dicey subject as comparisons between Canada and The United States. We are two distinctly different cultures. Currently, America is more than frightening. The political system has really become a total mess. A two-party system (basically YES or NO) does not cater to the many grey areas of politics. The choice right now seems to be Fascist or Liberal. That's it! It was not like that during most of my professional life. Thanks to my job, I had a Green Card. But, I also could travel with little difficulty...especially in the South and Mid-West. Why? Well, because I had blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. I never got used to states where everyone was walking around with a gun. It scared the hell out of me. As a commercial film director and writer, (unique services - hence the Green Card) I worked just about everywhere in the US. The North East is the most similar to Canada. But get down south, and people were literally walking around with holsters and revolvers on their hips. I never felt completely safe. But America is also a great country full of opportunities and if you are educated and a professional, the money is also great. All Canadians love their Healthcare and Social Safety Net. Generally, I think Canadians are more socially evolved and better educated. Your educational system is awful. And the Bible Belt States are anything but Christian. It's hate and fear-based. But the past 7 years have been the worst since the Trump Cult era began. Trump and his Mega Cult could destroy what was once a wonderful country.

I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. My Canadian son and his girlfriend, both in their early 30's, have visited the USA many times. Each time they go, I worry constantly that something bad will happen to them (shot, injured or sick). My brother and his wife have a condo in Florida and I worried that during COVID they'd catch it and die because of DeSantis' batshit crazy policies, making Florida a cesspool of virus. Now he wants to turn it into Gilead. His wife clearly desires to become Serena from The Handmaid's Tale. Too bad because I used to love Florida. I'm also worried sick that if Trump is elected President again, he'll somehow cause such a catastrophe the like of which has never been seen before, and it will affect Canada too. Basically, as a neighbour of the US, I'm constantly worried all the time.

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. My parents were snowbirds for decades. At the end of their stay, they owned a small place in Safford, AZ. I spent all my vacations wherever they were, Texas, other parts of Arizona. I loved exploring the US with them - Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Gila Cliff Dwellings, to name just a few. Multiple National Parks over their 30 years of winter stays. \n\nThe US is beautiful and steeped in history. We met some really nice people, and even loved a few of them (but not in a weird way).\n\nMy parents sold their place just before Trump became president (on purpose), and none of us have been back since.\n\nDon’t get me wrong, we have our share of ignorant and uneducated people, but most of ours don’t have guns. \n\nAnyways, I digress. I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )

Not Canadian but... back in the 80s and 90s America seemed like the coolest place ever, cosmopolitan and progressive in a way the UK wasn't. Then I grew up. The Internet got invented. I got to talk to Americans, hear US news and politics that never made it to the UK. Then Trump and Qanon happened. Now there is no way in hell I'd want to live there.
