Or you can just sign up to be the 51st state of the US. You would become the largest state in the US area wise, but not population wise. You also could vote in American elections. Many Canadians would have voted for Trump by the way if they could have.

We are angry - with those people who ignorantly voted for Trump and those people who chose not to vote. Not the people who chose to vote democratically to remain a democratic country. We are clear that his real agenda is to use this trade war to attempt to coerce us into becoming the 51st state. For MANY reasons, we will not EVER become part of Trump’s America. We will collectively fight in any way possible, even though we know it will be tough, to prevent it. We also know that there is a bigger picture in that it’s clear that Trump is aligned with Putin in the push to destroy democracy globally in favour of an authoritarian world order that benefits only the ultra rich. Canada, the Ukraine, Greenland and Panama are stepping stones to that end goal.

If he is selling himself to Americans and abusing President Trump. Why does he not accept the unification with the United States and become its 51st state? Then, he can try his luck to become President of the United States. That's good for the world as well, and good for Canadian people as well.

My guess is the underlying motive behind the whole theatre is to somehow pressurize Canada into complete submission. Remember his comments about Canada should become the 51st state? I presume that in reality his eyes are set on Canada‘s vast resources and the potential north-west passage which would be a fantastic gift to his master Putin.
