Canada putting tariffs on American goods hurts Canadians much more than Americans.
2025-02-01 0
Why does the Canadian Prime Minister care so much about what would happen to US citizens? If it is so bad for Americans, then it is good for Canada right? So Canada should be cheering for tariffs.
2025-01-31 0
Soo the worse trump does the more Americans will pay trump tarriffs to do as much bad as he can anywhere he can apply other tariffs for Americans to pay

Canada is doing the job now. Much better than now Because of President Trump, threatening Canada with tariffs

Trump is setting the stage for China to replace the USA as a key export partner to these tariff threatened nations. All it would take is China to accept delivery of products impacted by US tariffs at the pre-tariff price. China wants better S American commerce and these tariff threats provide the opportunity for China to swoop in and save the day. If I lead China I would be phoning every nations leader personally guaranteeing to do just that before another threat came out of Trump. While it might cost China in the short run, seeing the world wide collapse of the USA's economic influence in favour of China would serve them well.\nFor the last century the USA has learned to played reasonably well with others, shedding off most of its protectionist policies in favour of cooperation and negotiation. This made it a strong economic nation that individuals wanted to become citizens of. Nations trusted the USA, but in just a few days under Trump that century long journey to world leadership has been fully undermined.\nThe most known Statue Of Liberty quote of “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” was the old America, a much different time than today. The poem under Trump's policies should read “Take our tired, our poor, our huddled masses yearning to escape persecution”.

You see in Canada tariffs on Colombian products would never happen, because Columbia only produces coffee legally for us. And Canadians love coffee too much.
2025-01-26 0
Can someone explain how much the foreign exporter pays for the tariff?
2025-01-26 0
So much for your morning coffee. Tariffs are paid by consumers in America .
2025-01-26 0
Wrong! It doesn’t cost Americans more when a tariff is placed. It forces the incoming product manufacturer to lower its costs so people will still buy, and if people still buy, the percentage of tariff will fund the us government vs our income taxes. If they don’t lower their costs, they risk people not buying which hurts their business and hurts the country they are in because they don’t make as much money to send taxes to their country’s government

Why do liberals struggle so much with this form of using tariffs to get positive result for our country? It’s right there I’m front of them and even if they see it happen, it still upsets them to see a Trump success. I really don’t see why they fight him or refuse to acknowledge his plans as working
2025-01-26 0
Are you guys aware that every time Trump talks about imposing a tariff, it's essentially a tax on the American consumer? So much for his famous tax cuts—LOL!
2025-01-26 0
Is there a single Trumper that understands how tariffs actually work? Americans pay the tariff, Colombians won’t much care.
2025-01-26 0
I don't think the cartels care too much about tariffs... lol

All the energy that is going to deporting people. Hopefully someone will do the cost-benefit. Seems like a major waste of time. Imagine if the Border Bill had been passed in 2024 and by now we could have had this all under organized control without all of this spending so much money, time and effort in rounding people up and deporting them. Add to all of that the cost of tariffs that Trump is putting on Columbia and I expect others in the coming weeks and months. What a waste. Trump also not getting this whole thing organized which is the major direction we have to go in the final analysis.
2025-01-26 0
Why is he seriously thinking that Tariffs will somehow benefit the american People, not that i care all that much but Tariffs will have to be paid by Americans themselves
2025-01-26 0
No country should allow the US deportation planes to land. It would really screw his plan. Soon he'll have tariffs on every country. Imagine how much things are going to cost.
2025-01-26 0
I encourage other countries to do the same. The United States cannot afford to put tariffs on every country. It will piss of even MAGA if everything costs too much.

But.... did the price of eggs and gas go down?\nAll those who voted for this, get ready to pay more for food\nI had to school someone about Tariffs today ? \n\nTrump’s tariffs could tank the economy...\nThough Trump inherits a strong economy and low inflation, he’s proposed a 10 to 20 or even more \n tariff on all imports, and a 60 percent tariff on all imports from China. The Budget Lab at Yale estimates that this policy alone could raise consumer prices by as much as 5.1 percent and could diminish US economic growth by up to 1.4 percent. An analysis by the think tank Peterson Institute for International Economics, finds that Trump’s tariffs, when combined with some of his other proposals such as mass deportation, would lead to inflation rising between 6 and 9.3 percent.

As President-elect Trump weighs up the tariffs he has promised to impose, it is important to understand who will pay them. \n \nThere is a popular misconception that when a country imposes tariffs on imported goods, it is punishing a foreign government or foreign firms. This is not a mistake made by economists. The tariff is paid at point of entry, and much of it goes to the government that imposed it. It is paid by the importer, a probable wholesaler, who passes it on in the form of higher prices for his or her customers.

Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

I wonder how much influence Elon Musk has to do with all this Tariffs issue.
2024-11-26 0
China has positioned itself not to be so reliable on U.S trade, instead looking at other trade partners as a replacement. So, the fact that Biden kept the tariffs in place really did not matter much.
2024-11-26 0
This is one of the most delusional news channels I have ever seen, but the worst part is the facts that viewers believe what they say. Inflation occurs when the federal government places to much money in circulation. The Biden administration cut the key stone pipeline, subsequently increasing the cost of oil and gas, while negating the billions being brought in via oil exports. Gave a sizable portion of the stretegic oil reserve to non stretegic countries, increased Government spending on bad programs, sent several hundred billion to fund non stretegic foreign wars and hundreds of billions on housing, medical care and debit cards for illegal immigrants, while doing nothing for Maui, North Carolina and Florida or the millions of homeless and diplaced Americans and American veteran.\nAs for this Mexico issue. The people have spoken. Border counties filled with legal immigrants but flooded with violent illegals voted for Donald Trump because they are living the nightmare created by Mexico and the Biden administration, that these media and political hacks theorize about. The Mexican government has failed its people by allowing the Cartels to fill their pockets with billions every year. \nMexico is also working with China to funnel Chinese goods through Mexico in an attempt to bypass tariffs and flood the American economy with cheap Chinese goods. Don't let this Mexican president fool you, they are afraid of Trump holding them accountable for facilitating this mass invasion on the border. She made this statement publicly as a shakedown tactic instead of talking directly to President Trump. Her actions should tell you all that you need to know about these political puppets. In conclusion, Tariffs are affective because these greedy American and Foreign corporations use cheap labor to make cheap goods that they then sell for major profit. Tariffs tend to make these companies movie to America create American Jobs and pay higher American salaries which are a significant savings over tariffs. The companies lose considerable profits but they gain market share because they understand that when you raise the price of goods you only make the American alternative more appealing.

Much of the material that makes Up Tesla Vehicles is imported. So Very likely Musk Will be exempt from Trump tariffs.
2024-11-26 0
I don’t like trump but I agree with him in this issue. Mexico is doing this in purpose, they want usa to be destroyed. 25% tariff isn’t enough, should be much more .
2024-11-26 0
Mexico just proves to be yet another reason why women should never be voted into the highest office in their country. Call it sexist, misogynistic, or whatever you want. It's the truth. They never think about what their country needs or how much it hurts the ppl they're supposed to protect. They think their feelings make them right. Her response to Trump's tariffs is Exhibit A.
2024-11-26 0
If Trump does tariffs on Mexico we are F’d! Thanks to all the maga morons! I wonder how much of his supporters will support him once we feel the consequences of his policies. Deport millions of illegals-good luck with that! ??? show! Let’s see who wants to work American agriculture! Maybe Trump and his family? Followers? ???
2024-11-26 0
this is literally just a negotiating tactic of imposing tariffs to get the border countries to stop the flow of immigration and drugs/cartel gang activity from there own side and for them to pay for it with there own money while we do what is needed on our side of border and then there will be no tariffs imposed on Mexico or Canada if you can't see this then you shouldn't be concerning yourself with politics or business as it will be too much for you to understand
2024-11-26 0
Coffee, chocolate, palm oil, bananas and much of our produce that comes from Mexico and S.America will increase in price if Trump puts tariffs on Mexico.
2024-11-26 0
I'm one of the 55% of Hispanics that voted for Trump, I apologize for the 45% that did not.\nQuit crying about tariffs, we had them under Trump last time and things were still much cheaper than under your beloved brandon.
2024-11-26 0
He raises tariffs and she can do the same. And it goes on and on. How much will tRump raise tariffs on China? I can't afford much of anything and I am the same age as tRump (78 years old). I am struggling with paying bills. I think prices will never come down and I am not on welfare. I also do not have Medicare because I cannot afford the monthly fees so I am lucky I am a Vietnam Ers woman Navy Vet who is able to use the VA medical facilities. I am so tired of struggling that I rather be dead now.

MAGA: FAFO: \n1. Massive layoffs in automotive, housing and construction, and white goods happening right now due to coming tariffs.\n2. No Christmas bonuses because your company is buying up as much supplies before tariffs hit.\n3. Are you going to take all the crop picking jobs about to be available?\n4. How about the soon to be plentiful garbage collection, sewer and septic tank cleaning, dishwashing/waiter/waitress/cook, greenskeepers, house cleaning, nanny care, etc jobs soon to be available?
2024-11-26 0
Trump acts like we make SOOOOO much here in the US that we can function alone. FALSE! We make damn near NOTHING here. We rely too heavily on other countries in every aspect of our lives; food, clothing/footwear, shelter/building construction material, automotive even down to hygiene products . These countries think he is a fool! Hike up tariffs for them and they will just take it out on us. Tariff is NOT going to control immigration. NO 1 president has ever 100% combated immigration. YES we need a tough stance on immigration & it will result in some casualties, let's be honest. However the way he is talking, he will screw his own people. I can't believe nobody on this team explains this to him.

IT will be much more now with Trumps tariffs
2024-11-10 0
First Trump's administration is going to be jacked up with little known outliers with controversial and radical ideas. That is what Trump is attracted to. His ideas of tariffs and mass deportations are deplorable. They both disadvantage the US instead making it better. However, the tariffs may as well be a scam to get companies profits as when Trump says 10% on item A, companies are going to raise the cost of item A 12 to 15% or so and blame the cost increase on tariffs. For deportation's, I hope most people realize that many working the fields as low wage labor are very well illegals, but they are hired because they keep food costs low. Raising all prices for the poor Republicans will not be beneficial because prices on goods can increase 15% or more but their employer is certainly not going give them a 15% raise to match the cost of living. So Trump has already made the business environment good for more profits by planning to make life more expensive for everyone so business can absorb the additional profits. Probusiness politicians help businesses make money and that money comes from households and the government. And making the government spend more means the government needs to tax more. But TRump is cutting taxes for the people that have the most money. And Trump raising prices with tariffs justs makes households poorer and business richer. Naturally, the stock market will record highs when all the indicators are that business will be making much greater profits from households when Trump takes office.

*What they want and what they'll actually get is two very different realities. Get ready for high soaring inflation because of the Tariffs and Labor shortages for the jobs that nobody'll want to do - picking vegetables, fruits, berries, +, and it won't matter what the price of gas(Which during his administration gas was down because not as many people were traveling like they were before Covid.) because not many will be able to afford much of anything else, which under President Biden inflation was falling and was going to be reduced even further and fuel prices were dropping - and money was coming into the Country from Arms Sales which helped lower inflation and taxes, now the next Countries will only have to build Arms that don't have to be as good as the Country's but just better than the Pariah Countries and they'll pick up the Sales that'll be dumped from the Country and jobs will be lost - leading to higher prices again and lower wages for many workers because many people will be unemployed and they'll be willing to take lower paid jobs which will lower overall wages and the quality of merchandise will drop - people really didn't think before putting that checkmark ✔️ - not to mention the ladies and their families that'll be effected some horrendously and chances are that eventually it'll effect the majority of families and then the divorce rates will rise and crimes will rise out of desperation - but the thing is - is that the criminals will be able to afford gas to travel around more to commit more crimes - - -,,,.*

This is not gonna happen. Just like having a plan to replace the affordable care act didn'thappen, or , infrastructure, building the wall. Much money was spent... who knows where, somewhere into the pockets of rich companies and nothing was done. Meanwhile tariffs will raise the cost of everything. He'll attempt to somehow blame Biden and Obama. It's all just ridiculous!!
2024-11-08 0
Just wait.... blanket tariffs on imported foods, plus removal of nearly all our domestic agricultural production capability.\nYou voted for him because eggs are too expensive, well buckle up snowflake because all of us are going to be paying TONS more for ALL groceries once they start doing this. And you can expect most small and medium farms to declare bankruptcy within a year... and your eggs won't even be cheaper - much more expensive actually. Well done.

Housing market has nothing to do with foreigners. bad goverment that taxes everything too much, bad import tariffs etc etc all of that makes building houses expensive therefore drives cost up. also recent inflation doesnt help either
