Most colleges closed down and many graduates who were here, as far back as the 80's were asked to vacate college properties. ... Many were asked to go back to their home countries and for many they didn't even know anything about their home countries. As graduate students and Professor assistants - working on research programs - have lived in the United States most of their lives. ... The demand for highly educated immigrants has caused a paper blog. ... The demand for immigration visas to work or get into the universe's research has skyrocketed. ... So much the waiting list can be from 5 years to 60 years - depending on the country of origin. ... Many immigrants believe coming from Canada with a Canadian visa is the short cut ( they are being coached to this idea ) because universes and private research groups need their talents... ( We have noticed that many immigrants are paying College Degree Mills for fake made up degrees and college credit records ) ... If that's the case we can do the same for American kids with a High school degree ... But individuals tied up with the Colleges and private research groups would lose all that money they have invested in luxury condos that they rent out to all those immigrants. ... I would love to design and build luxury high rise condos around colleges and universities and get filthy rich renting out to immigrants. ... Many who got rich backers from their home countries. ... And that includes student spies coming from communist countries and or communist allies. ... Don't forget my finders fee ... All these foreign students should simply stop coming to Canada. The entire tertiary education system would collapse. These colleges and university have been gouging these foreign students for years. This at its core has nothing to do with jobs. it is xenophobia. The white Canadian's are seeing too many colored people and it scares them. White kids dont want to work at Tim Hortons for minimum wage. The economy needs these immigrants more than anything. Do you have any idea of the amount of taxes these immigrants pay annually? It really is a sad situation. But the effects will be even worse when these tax inflows cease. Prepare for job cuts and tax hikes.

Weak disposable income for consumers = less revenue for businesses. Businesses need to cut costs and immigration gates have been neglected & abused.

Personally I don’t care if they have problems. They can take pay cuts or shut down if the business model doesn’t work. We can’t let these institutions damage communities by flooding them with people that they can’t house and are taking housing from working Canadians. These are the people the universities depend on to keep the lights on, the water flowing, the streets cleared and many many other things. Price them out of the housing market and they will go elsewhere and when the university needs a tradesman they won’t be able to get one. With the lights out and the pipes plugged the place won’t appeal to any students and they will go home.

I don't like the idea of sending back anyone who is here, working daily, following Canadian laws, and paying into the tax system.. these are productive people.\nHowever, the intake stream needs to be cut back. We failed to build the infrastructure to support a larger population. So until infrastructure (housing, roads, police, fire, medical, electrical, sewage, etc..) is built out to accommodate 41 million people properly, we can't take in more.\n\nThis failure is entirely government created. Red tape and the inability to build anything anywhere is the fault of municipal, provincial and federal governments. And this inability to build anything anywhere also ruins Canada's productivity and ability to attract new industry (jobs) and investment (jobs). Government is failing Canadians. Immigrants and the Canadian poor are just the lowest victims on the ladder, and the first and most heavily impacted.

America needs to cut on immigration and illegals immigrants, it is a serious issue ,Europe is facing this challenge before it starts hurting America needs to take concrete steps to curb inflow of immigration specially from India ,,

US/Canada both suffered due to the blockade at Ambassador Bridge. As a long haul Trucker, I couldn't work and I was forced to stay home because of those Convoy thugs. Canada added more immigrants than they can produce jobs or housing. Carbon tax and many other taxes and programs created also issue. We need cut spending especially so many social programs on tax payers dollars. The West needs to wake up and completely cut back immigration which is over stretching Canadas and Europe's infrastructure.

It is mostly the fault of the incompliant and corrupt Liberal government for the massive influx of unskilled India workers/students. Under previous sane governments, there were manageable caps that controlled the influx and allowed for proper immigration of vetted and skilled workers, but the Liberals stopped properly vetting people and basically opened the flood gates. For a Canadian company to hire foreign workers, they used to have to prove there were no Canadian workers to do that job, so foreign workers were mostly used in seasonal agriculture work, but due to very shady government deals with big corporations Trudeau approved paying wage subsidy and turning a blind eye to Canadian workers so Singh Hortons (and many other big businesses) could have workers for a cut rate and the government tax dollars paid up to 70% of wages and welfare. Also Foreign workers think they can stay here once their visa's expire, refusing to leave. There is simply no need for Canada to bring in over a million Indians that are in hard times in their own country. Our welfare or culture can't stand it. Not sure if you missed it or not, but India's foreign minister at the start of summer, thanked Trudeau for taking all their criminals, and low caste people. But People need to follow proper immigration policy, and not buy a ticket to Canada from a India scammer guaranteeing citizenship, which has been the case as well. Many (not all) of these students are cheats who cheat on their scores..amd make it by falsifying data needed to make the cut. They should be sent back...ask them to speak English for once..In Canada be Canadian..not Indian.

It's the backlog at the Landlord-Tenant Tribunal that causes this. Doug Ford needs to actually invest provincial funds into expanding the Tribunals so cases can be heard in a timely manner. We can't applaud Dougie for cutting funding to Tribunals to a shoestring, & then also be mad when the backlog for hearings is 2 years.

I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Employees in Walmart, Costco, Tim Hortons (especially!), etc., are seen standing around, chatting with each other in their Indian languages instead of being professionally attentive to customers. The shopping experience is not pleasant like it was 25 years ago!! I have met a lot of Indians both good and bad. When you go to a store or somewhere you have this race of people who won't speak Canadian language, unless it's absolutely necessary. God forbid if you say to them they should speak English ior French in Canada, you are always called racist. When you hear of a murder of drug raid, it's almost always an Indian name. Hell, when you are cut off in traffic, well as you said in ithe beginning they look like you, not me. As I said at the first I have met and made friends with Indians, but it begins to piss you off, when there are so many. Our government has to stop the import of one race and if need be choose a little of all races, and prepare.

Their folks were doing fine renting out that 2 bedroom apartment for $1200 or that entire 3-bedroom house for $2000 plus utilities but those amounts of rent once divided between these Boomers two or three, or more, kids $2600-2800 for 2 bedroom apartment or $4000-5000 for an entire house splits up much nicer for the children... broken.

I have been (mostly) a life long Liberal living in Toronto. I can honestly say, the Trudeau Liberal government has been the worst government at any level I have lived under - including Mike Harris and Bob Rae. Justin Trudeau likes to cut ribbons and make big announcements and spend time on the completely wrong priorities for Canadians. We need a government focused on the economy and the things it takes to build a thriving 21st century economy. Yes, it takes immigrants and those people will need the basics: a job, food, shelter and services. Instead we get dental care, pharm care, daycare - all these things we can't afford and that do very little to build out a thriving economy we need. We have lost decades due to poor planning of our governments and now we all must suffer. It will take generation to fix this, meanwhile our competing countries will all pass us. I will rue Justin Trudeau and his incompetent Ministers and enablers for the rest of my life.

Canada and America just need to focus on two of main problems...which are greed and a lot of people getting in real estate who are either renting or selling at a severely inflated rate because those people in real estate just want take short cut early retirement. If rich individuals or companies create more jobs that are entry level and offer decent salary then rich individuals or hedge fund companies can buy empty land and buy town homes or a tower like apartment and charge a decent rate.

Manning the border is an easy problem to fix, we spent 800 billion on the military last year and each alphabet agency’s budget ranges from 1-15 billion. Needless to say there should be no shortage of resources and manpower in the executive arm of the government. Now many of them may not be excited about pay-cuts while being forced to field work and eternal guard duty for the rest of their careers but that’s something they need to reconcile with themselves as it was always a known possibility of happening to anyone living in a country with stressed borders.

It's not even just in Brampton even 1 to 2 hours away immigrant and international students take all customer service jobs to the point that Canadians can barely get hired into these roles because we have expectations and rights that we worked for and I've seen these immigrants willing to work for less than legal minimum wage and they do not stand up for themselves or work towards having any shared rights. In addition many politicians on both sides of the aisle are rental landlords so only stand to profit from low rental vacancies and cramming as many people into a small space as possible. They've also cut funding to a lot of post-secondary institutions who rely on inflating tuition cost for international students. At my current role on a team of 15 people plus one manager there are only three white people, born and raised Canadians. The rest are all Indians including the manager and will frequently talk amongst themselves loudly in Punjabi while we're trying to serve customers in the English language. That's actually against policy but Canadians are so outnumbered by immigrants and specifically Indians in this place that it never gets enforced properly. I've never been anti-immigration but it's gotten so bad in Canada especially in places like Ontario that I'm now against it and will tell anyone regardless of their skin color to avoid immigrating here. I've been on a wait list for a doctor for over 11 years, I know people who have died from cancer due to delayed referrals due to long wait list for additional screening, it's insane and absolutely ridiculous especially considering the amount of taxes I currently pay and have paid my entire life as a born and raised Canadian.\n\nAlso it's absolutely true every single one is either taking or has taken post-secondary studies in business admin or management. We don't need more people in these fields we need Healthcare sector workers and not a single one that I've spoken with which again is quite a few studied anything related to medicine Healthcare nursing... not one.

The government needs to focus on reducing insurance costs for cars and homes, and property taxes should be cut by 50%. Also, cities and towns should stop wasting money on unnecessary projects, and Canadian contractors shouldn't be charging double for the same projects as those in the states.

We need proportional representation, referendums and lean towards direct democracy, better regulation on companies making records profits and cutting quality while paying lower taxes, investment in public housing and industries here, nationalizing our natural resources like oil so the people can benefit from the profits not just a few wealthy executives, and accountability for our politicians that don't uphold their promises or act in the peoples best interest, including those that are accused of corruption and colluding with foreign governments/interests.

Why do they come to Canada, if not for the benefits? Why do these countries not set up their own Universities, where former international students go back home and teach their country and students what they learned here. It would be cheaper for them, and they can stay in their own country. But, they don't want to do that as they see Canada as the country of opportunities to bring their whole extended families here. We are already facing housing shortages, and don't need any of this type of opportunistic citizenships. They need to drastically cut the amount of foreign students allowed in. This year they are allowing 485,000 students. This does not take into account the students who are in high school or those studying for their master’s or doctoral degree's. In total it is 552,000. Then add on the Immigrants at 485,000, illegals or asylum claims( which is at record high numbers, could not find the figures for this year), then the migrant workers which are estimated between 700k to 900k. This is all too much. Drastic cuts need to be made, and this government that allowed all that to happen needs to be ousted out.

Common sense policies will link immigration to infrastructure capacity and the needs of Canada (not theirs). No houses = no more East Indians pretending to be students, not going to school, and delivering door dash as they cut you off in traffic with impunity. \nI'm ok with that..... The immigration problem is very real and im glad you brought it up. I'm tired of being called a bigot for simply recognizing that the we dont have enough homes to sustain our citizens, let alone new migrants. Nobody pays 4-times the tuition of a domestic student just for a degree from Blablabla college. Of course almost everyone comes for PR, because Express Entry was a stable immigration system, but now the system allows fraudulent LMIA holders to go through, and the actual skilled workers are paying the price because NOBODY can score such high score in Express Entry (current draws). The current draw cut-off scores are unrealistic.\n\nThe government allowed 90k unskilled workers to get PR through the TR to PR program (was a mistake), but now have made it difficult for the actual Federal High Skilled applicants. Canadian immigration is now so messed up, it favors the junks of the world and ignores the real skilled people. I myself have a Master's degree in Canada from a top University, have Canadian work experience, have foreign work experience, scores highest possible in IELTS, still I cannot score 529 for express entry. Conversely, a mediocre asylum seeker or fraud LMIA holder easily gets PR. Express Entry is no longer a stable system for skilled workers, it's now a lottery.\n\nBefore blaming international students for everything, you need to understand the real problem. Whether everyone is entitled to PR, NO! But, the skilled workers with excellent CRS scores (490+) should be able to stay to benefit Canada & get a good career for themselves as well. Otherwise, Canada itself will suffer from skill shortages just in a few years.

Raise the minimum wage to 33 dollars an hour. This will stop businesses from using cheap labour imported. However in the meantime these guys(International students) can fight forest fires and do some much needed clear cutting

Speaking as a Canadian who have left the country in 2021 and NOT looking back! \n1) healthcare: the quality and quantity is falling dramatically. Doctors are leaving south, healthcare budgets are keep being cut every year by our wonderful government. The quality is very poor. Waiting lines are insane! Ilyou can seriously spend the while day/night with your sick child in a waiting line at a hospital. Average is over 12 hrs already!!! \n2) criminal situation is worsening every year.
