All Trump has been asking for all along is for Canada & Mexico to DO THEIR PART in stemming the illegal immigration and Fentanyl from crossing into the United States. Nearly 100,000 Americans die each year from Fentanyl overdoses. The raw ingredients come from China and into their respective nations, where they are processed and made into Fentanyl, then brought into the U.S. Neither nation has taken Trump seriously and Biden didn't give a crap and actually assisted with bringing in more of everything. Now both nations get to deal with the results of their inactions. Remember, these are reciprocatory tariffs to simply equal what American goods are charged by Canada & Mexico already. NOW everyone is on an equal playing field. If these nations want lower tariffs, they can go first and then the U.S. will match it to theirs... It's that simple.

If it wasn't Trump then I'm sure it's only because he was too busy ordering the National Guard to power hose and pepper spray the 30 or so elderly nuns who had been distributing bottled water to folks demonstrating in support of Black Lives Matter on the hottest day of the year. Satisfied in his victorious battle against the nuns - 9 of whom had been hospitalized for critical injuries including the 92 year old Mother Superior who suffered massive brain bleed, swelling and concussion due to the excessive force of the power hose and an 87 year old nun who lost permanent sight in one eye due to the pepper spray - Trump had the nerve to pose for a publicity shot in front of the church while holding a Bible - UPSIDE DOWN - and scrunching and contorting his face into that hideous trademark scowl he does ever so naturally. Yep. This is the man my fellow Americans chose to represent our nation as President - a man who beats up 90 year old nuns and imposes 25% tax hikes to our ONLY FRIEND in the entire world simply for refusing to accept his invitation for statehood. Canada's Tariff applied to the United States will cause some price inflation, price increase, for a short time until the United states establish compaines to produce the same good and services that were tariffed. Once goods and service producted by the United States exceeds the Canadian goods and services that were tarriffed, the prices will come down. President Donald Trump did this to grow United States and Employment and cause price deflation over the long term. Hopefully Canada has the resources to do the same. As a Canadian I am shocked that very few Americans seem to care at what Trump is doing to their country. It's not the tariffs on all of the US's former allies but that he has dumped its allies to appease Trumps good friend Putin. I am looking at dismay watching the US go from being the leader of the free world to just another dictatorship run by billionaires, America is Russia. Even before the actions taken by Canada, one should look at balance of Fentanyl illegal trade. \n \nOn average 46 lb of Fentanyl were smuggled from Canada to US , which divided by the population of the US comes to a 0.049 mg of fentanyl per US Citizen \nOn the other direction, 950 lb Fentanyl were smugeled from the from US to Canada, which when divided by the population of Canada, ends up being 10.88 mg of fentanyl per Canadian Citizen\nNow, scientists say 2 mg is a lethal dose. \nJust think about it, trump's US could kill each Canadian 5 times over by Fentanyl. \nSo who is supposed to be pissed?

Trump is going to go onstage tonight and lie about why the tariffs on Canada. We have done nothing to deserve this. One percent of fentanyl and one percent of illegal immigrants come from Canada into the USA. We give America a huge deal on oil. Trump lies about this to justify the tariffs. Canadian here. Wake up Canadians. Many people are praising Trudeau for this speech. Don't. He is out as Liberal leader within the week. He doesn't have to follow through on anything he said. Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada.
