Just to make thing clear. Most of us Canadians do no like Trudeau and most of our politicians, like yours in the US they are owned by entities that do not serve our Peoples.\nUS citizens and we Canadian will hurt, but Donald and Trudeau and associates WILL NOT HURT at all in this, they are already multimillonaires, but us commoners will have it tough. This is the price for electing tv stars and on surnames!\nWe Candians, like you in the US are entramped by two political parties; meaning, we chosse between bad and worse every time, we the People must break free from this slavery asap.\nNew fronts are merging to create a better and decent world, us, the US, and Canadian ought to have a good look at them all!

Good for Canada the republicans in congress are spineless to stand up to the felon president Trump and are allowing him to be a fascist tyrant. As an American it hurts to see how Trump treats allies and how he embraces enemies like Putin, North Korea and others. As painful as it will be I hope the free world does what the Republicans are scared to do and that is stand up to Trump and put him in his place!

It will hurt Americans much, much more than Canadians. This is what you need to realize: Canadians are much tougher than Americans. The rest of the world backs Canada. We have your energy. More than 60 per cent.

Trump is so stupid, it hurts.

Stop the steal, think about what this means. It means stop stealing from wealthy americans to help poor americans, help americans have healthcare, help american farmers keep their farms. The oligarchs of USA do not want this, they don't want to pay taxes, they want to rule with impunity like Putin. America is being lost day by day, Welcome to West Russia. I have many friends in the USA, and this is a very sad situation and my heart aches for them. I know this is going to hurt in Canada, but screw you orange menace and president Musk, I will go down fighting for the freedoms we (our forefathers) earned, defeating the last facist pig that ruled a country

Trudeau youre not winning this one. Sit with the admin and reach a deal. Canada will get hurt even more.

Those who voted for Trump as president may be hurt by this president. Elections in the United States seem to be more about emotion than reason.
2025-03-04 0
I want prices to go down as much as anyone; but I do not want to hurt the citizens in our allied countries or any countries for that matter. Many presidents have tried this many times and have failed. Why does Trump believe he won’t? I love my country but I hope these European and American allies hold strong against Trump. Trump is a liar!

Coming from the guy who uses a carbon tax hurting his own people even though Canada isnt to blame for global warming. Cant wait to vote for the first time and get him out of office.
2025-03-04 0
idk there was so many things imported from Canada. but Canada Canada imports half of its goods from the U.S. over all the i think Canada will hurt more. no real winner at the end
2025-03-04 0
Canada is hurting themselves not the U.S. it’s going to backfire on them.

Send tariffs back to Trump as a boomrang, make him hurt, make his suffer. If all the countries targeted do that, Trump is knocked out for ever.
2025-03-04 0
I'm sorry our Canadian's fellows, this is not personal, it's just business. All this year the USA economy has been decreased because we buy (importing) more goods than selling (exporting). We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. After our economy is better, we can make new deals. \nAbout Fentanyl, it is funny that he said that it was all good and after that, saying just in the last months implemented all kinds of security measures. LOL \nHe speaks nice, but he is not a smart guy. Putting tariffs back to the USA makes it worse with Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman, he can keep increasing the taxes and in the end, Canada will be hurt more than the USA. I suggest to peacefully open a negotiation with Trump, not to fight back at the same level... don't take it personally, it is just business.

I'm a Canadian. I am trying to wrap my head around why a President would start a trade war by imposing tariffs that hurt their allies and hurt his own people..!? I am not an economist nor an investor; However I found it interesting that the immediate result of this as they corresponded about this news is how the markets are taking a major dive. If I wanted to make money off the stock market and had no morals and had the power to cause it to crash, I would make sure it crashed hard by imposing tariffs. Then I would invest as many billions in the key stocks that will come back, and watch my billions turn into 10's or 100's of billions...\nThe other possible explanation could simply be that he wants all the critical minerals from Canada, Greenland, Ukraine for nothing. Taking those minerals for free and selling electric cars, miliatary equipment, etc. would be most profitable!\nBut greed seems to know no bounds for those who are wealthy, as long as it's at their gain and not at their expense!

The American president has hurt Canada, the USA and the World. Hateful behavior.
2025-03-04 0
Don't want to see Americans hurt.. elaborate please...?
2025-03-04 0
Canada met Trump's terms and he still screwed them, I don't blame them for retaliating. Losing allies and isolating us from the rest of the world is going to hurt everyone
2025-03-04 0
If Europe, Canada, Japan, misc SE asian countries, etc., get together, they could absolutely take over as the stabilizing force in the world. DJT is doing what he wants - very cynically, he’s happy to ruin the US so he can have control over it. Totally insane. US is a mess, liberals have indulged the crazy left so much that moderates were feeling forced to vote in rebellion- but to ultimately hurt themselves. WTF?! For sure.
2025-03-04 0
We are not even matching what canada allready and has been tarrifing us and did he say he is a threat and we might get hurt
2025-03-04 0
We don't want to see Canadians hurt, either. It's all very unnecessary and intended only to appease the bottomless ego of a tyrant. Donald Trump imposed tariffs on your country. The American people did not. We are sorry, and we will do all we can to use the processes in place to remove Trump and his elected supporters from power as soon as we can.

All this talk about fentanyl. Come on Justin, do the funniest thing ever. Send MAID care packages to every Trump donor. Why hurt your friends in Buffalo when your enemies are so incredibly self destructive?

Principles for Dealing with The Changing World Order By Ray Dalio. \nAlthough it may seem like Trump is hurting the economy at the time being. He is doing the US economy a long term favor. Nothing personal against our fellow Canadians. We love our allies. But the US needed a Leader like Trump after the Bummy Biden administration. God Bless EVERYONE reading this comment. We will all make it through this.

Trump seems to want to see people hurt - very sadistic. This explains why he licks Putins' boots and wants to divide democratic countries for Putin.
2025-03-04 0
Why hurt your own country by trying to tarrif America. That wont hurt America. \nAlso he is a putz and should just work with the idea of border control.
2025-03-04 0
It was not America. It was Trump and his gang. They must be stopped. Unfortunately, we are going to be hurt. Bad. \nGet ready to pay for a quarter pound of flower for a full day of work. ?
2025-03-04 0
Trump don't care He don't care about that. That's just the Trojan-horse. So you don't pay attention of what he's doing. He's just hurting, he's gonna hurt. The Americans first and definitely never going to get Canada. Because if we gotta do World War 3. Come on, we'll play the game. We'll put our cards on the table. Trump

Canada’s 25% Tariffs? A Win for American Businesses in the Long Run\n\nAt first glance, Canada slapping a 25% tariff on U.S. goods might seem like a negative for America. But in reality, this move could actually work in our favor by making the U.S. economy stronger, more self-sufficient, and less dependent on foreign markets.\n\t1.\tBoosting American Manufacturing & Production – When Canada makes U.S. goods more expensive with tariffs, American businesses have a huge opportunity to shift focus to domestic markets and new trade partners. This could bring more production back home and reduce reliance on Canada.\n\t2.\tEncouraging Trade Diversification – The U.S. isn’t limited to Canada. If they want to play hardball, we can expand exports to other countries with fewer trade restrictions. Canada makes up about 15% of U.S. exports, but the rest of the world is wide open. This is a chance to diversify and strengthen our economy.\n\t3.\tMaking Canada Pay More for U.S. Goods – Tariffs don’t just hurt exporters—they also raise costs for Canadian consumers. If Canada wants American products, they’ll end up paying more or have to settle for alternatives that might be lower quality or more expensive from other countries.\n\t4.\tStrengthening America’s Negotiating Position – If Canada wants to raise tariffs, that gives the U.S. even more leverage in future trade talks. The U.S. economy is far larger and more powerful than Canada’s, and in the long run, they need us more than we need them.\n\t5.\tReducing America’s Trade Deficit – If fewer goods are exported to Canada, that means more products stay in the U.S. This helps lower dependence on foreign markets and could even stabilize prices for American consumers.\n\nBottom Line: Canada’s Move Hurts Them More Than It Hurts the U.S.\n\nIf Canada wants to put tariffs on U.S. goods, let them. In the long run, it pushes America to be more self-reliant, strengthens our industries, and forces Canada to pay the price for their own policies.\n\nAt the end of the day, America has the stronger economy, better resources, and more trade options—Canada needs U.S. trade more than we need theirs. If they want to make American goods more expensive, they’ll feel it a lot more than we will.

As a canadian, i will stand with Canada. However, Trudeau is not my PM. Our country would have been fiscally armored in this situation, were it not for his poor leadership. Telling us it will hurt! All while raising taxes and continuing to print money. Pierre for PM!
2025-03-04 0
It will hurt Canadians..yes, but the big difference is that they are pulling together ❤️
2025-03-04 0
I don’t get it, we as Americans are just asking to be treated the same, why shouldn’t Canada pay the same as we pay? \n\nSound like a but hurt girl friend who doesn’t want to be treated the way she treats others. Like attracts like dumbasses

Now Americans can find out exactly what it means to vote for teflon Don. All those tarrifs he imposes will be passed onto the American consumer. Funny how NONE of that was made known just prior to the American presidential election. Teflon Don was just waiting to drop it like a bomb after he took office. I feel sorry for the people it's going to hurt.

Instead of making speeches talk to Trump and negotiate a deal to suit both Parties, otherwise you are hurting Canada's economy

2025-03-04 0
he wants to conquer canada... hes not worried about his russian allie ships.. telling dolnad all about the new security system at canadas southern border was brilliant.... id also start stockpiling ammo canada, which hurts ukraine... welp arms exports can help fund canada through the trade wars... need help? plenty of NATO countries will help u... UK has some pretty good stuff.
2025-03-04 0
This will hurt Americans more than it will hurt Canadians because they have allies. And Canada still on the British rule in somewhat.
2025-03-04 0
Canada doesn't have the same trade war as America. Canada, China, Mexico, and a few others so trump is really hurting America citizens for his own selfish ego
2025-03-04 0
Let us go sideways. Find other trading partners. We do not need trump. A totally clown. Lets go to the uk or China. Then no hurt to us

Trump is a crazy immoral liar who wants to be a dictator and he’s trying to ruin the country so that he can be. I hope the people who voted for him are happy. It was clear, and he even described what he would do. I am very sorry it is hurting our friends and allies, as well as the U.S. people, especially Canada, Germany, and France..

Well said. I love the USA, I have relatives who live there and in all the years of a beautiful relationship with the people of America I have never seen this situation. Mr. Trump you seem to want to conquer and divide relationships at any cost, even with people who care about you. You sabotage yourself and those who are loyal to you. I'm not sure if you understand the implications of your decisions. But I will say respectfully, there are no winners in a trade war, nor is it you that has the final say on the worlds outcome. This is God's world not yours and not ours. I'm really disappointed to see American people and Canadians hurting because of whatever the point of all of this means. But Canada is strong and we will stand up for our country. The American people are strong and they were strong before you became the President. Working together, we can take care of each other for our families and our country.

I think if the USA doesn't honour the trade agreement than neither does Canada. I say no more intellectual protection for US tech. That will truly hit them where it hurts.

@ Justin Trudeau. You have hurt us the Canadian citizens since 2020. You’ve heard the whole Canadian economy. Why did your wife leave you?\nWe don’t want to hear a thing you have to say everything is crap. Kindly going into some shell.

All these years US has a trade deficit of 1 trillion dollars every year. With tariffs we could have recovered 250 billion every year. That is a lot of money. Currently every American owes $110,000 because of the accumulated debt of 36.5 trillion.\n\nJustin, how long are we supposed to bend back wards while US has a trade deficit of trillion dollar over the past 20 years. Why cant to you balance the imports and exports so that you don't have to keep taking advantage of USA. CNN did not see the trade deficit every single year for 20 years? what are they talking about? Our news channels have just become political entities rather than looking for the greater good of the Americans. One is for Republicans and others for Democrats - ridiculous. \n\nCanada and Mexico are saying, please stop tariffs, it is going to hurt America. LOL. No it is not. If tariffs were there in 2024, US would have gotten back 15 billion dollar revenue from Canada and Mexico would have paid 46 billion to USA. All this time, this was affecting only Americans and while you are enjoying not paying for your share, you have made US pay by taking loans to pay for the imports increasing our Debt. Yes it has been hurting America for the past 20 years, otherwise how did we accumulate 36.5 trillion debt.\n\nLike Justin said, if Canada can survive while paying 15 billion to USA, of course USA will do fine while collecting the 15 billion from Canada and 46 billion form Mexico. What do you all think that the public is blind?\n\nTo the American Public: Why would we impose tariffs, if that is going to hurt the US. And why are Canada and Mexico shaking in their boots? It would be naive, if you think it is out of their good heart. It had been hurting US for the past 20 years and they did not care. This time it is going to hurt them so all this fuss. The bottom line is that they don't want to pay all the excess that they have been dumping on us while they were benefiting. USA will use the revenue generated (total around 250 billion for 2025 form tariffs) to reduce our tax, make things more affordable, inject in to our own businesses and generate more employment.

My heart hurts watching this. As an American, I respect and agree with Prime Minister Trudeau. Canada has been a kind and generous ally, and our current government leaders are just coming up with excuses for this stupid ass trade war. \n\nI am so sorry to all the Canadian citizens whom this negatively impacts. I hope you will show grace to those of us who voted against Trump and who continue to stand up to this tyrant.
