This is not that unusual in Canada and it is one of the most racist countries in the world!! They market themselves as the more tolerant and better version of the USA but that just hides the real ugliness of this country. I know, I lived there for 8 years before fleeing back to the USA. Even my children were not spared the hate — an elderly man tried to push down by 4 year old son in the ice crew line when he thought no one was looking. We often faced racial insults as we walked in the streets.

Maybe the hyperviolent Venezuelan gang TLD taking over entire apartment complexes in the US while the mainstream media attempted to gaslight the public about it has played a role in people from all sides becoming increasingly less tolerant of ILLEGAL immigration.

My family immigrated here in the 70s. We embraced Canada, my parents worked hard, there were no hand outs then. Kept our traditions at home, however when a Canadian was invited over everyone spoke English as well in public spaces. We were very proud to become Canadian citizens five years later. My brothers and I all served in the military. There is a bit of relief that my father passed away so as not to see what Canada has become in the last 9 years. I have little tolerance for cultures that are only here to take with no interest in assimilating.

Well they do all sort of wrong things especially eve teasing. I saw in my local no frills in Brampton yesterday 4 punjabi looking at girls that work there and making vulgar comments. Another reason why many non immigrant Canadians are leaving the big cities, and moving far from them to smaller no invaded towns through out Canada where they can also find community with people they recognize. The problem I have with Indians is that they dont like Canadians, make no effort to learn the language and culture, are very rude, entitled and disrespectful towards anyone that dont look like them. Then why are you here in Canada? This is a very multicultural country, which is something they obviously knew before coming here. They treat us Canadians with such hatred, disdain and indifference, especially in the workplace. If you're that damn unhappy here in Canada, you're free to leave anytime. And many Indians in Managerial positions will only hire other Indians, even though a lot of them aren't quality for the job or their English is very poor. Canada has always been very excepting and tolerant towards different ethnicities, but that's because they've always put in the effort of getting to know and learning from us.

I was in the security workforce. It was inundated with permit workers. They all drove new cars, had apple watches, expensive cell plans, and would moan about not getting enough hours. Security companies hire huge forces of them. Security companies can use and abuse them as they feel vulnerable to begin with being in a foreign country. I wouldn't tolerate the treatment and of course was weaned out. Corrupt. Many contracts lost as management just sends anyone to a shift. Half are tiny women with no training and were passed through without the standard 40 hours security licence training but a crash course one day course for the permit workers. Illegal all around.

Glad this is happening! First, because the govt. should put their citizens & their heritage as top priority. Secondly, because permit to study doesn’t mean permit to permanently settle down.
