It's absolutely nauseating that Donald started a trade war with Canada. What a great neighbor and friend Canada has been to the U.S. for so many, many years.
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau; you are WRONG! You started the trade war!
2025-03-04 0
Well said. I love the USA, I have relatives who live there and in all the years of a beautiful relationship with the people of America I have never seen this situation. Mr. Trump you seem to want to conquer and divide relationships at any cost, even with people who care about you. You sabotage yourself and those who are loyal to you. I'm not sure if you understand the implications of your decisions. But I will say respectfully, there are no winners in a trade war, nor is it you that has the final say on the worlds outcome. This is God's world not yours and not ours. I'm really disappointed to see American people and Canadians hurting because of whatever the point of all of this means. But Canada is strong and we will stand up for our country. The American people are strong and they were strong before you became the President. Working together, we can take care of each other for our families and our country.

Trudeau thinks Canada can survive a trade war? ???. Canada doesn't have anything that the US can't get for itself. Unless they want to start selling snow to the southern states. We help them by buying their crap. We dont need it like Canada needs us. We subsidize their economy in more ways than one. And Trudeau is willing to learn that the hard way it looks like.\n\nOh well, Gues Canada Wont have much of a choice but to become the 51st state

WE STARTED THE TRADE WAR\nAS OF LAST OCTOBER 31st 2024 CANADA IMPOSED THESE TARIFFS ON THE USA \n\nDAIRY : Milk (270%) Cheese (245%) Butter (290%)\n\nPOULTRY : Chicken (238%)\n\nAGRICULTURAL : Eggs (163%) Barley seed (57.8%) Bovine/Meat (26.5%)\n\nMANUFACTURED : Cars (25%) HVAC (45%) Vacuums (35%) Cable Boxes (35%) TVs (45%)\n\nMETALS : Steel (25%) Aluminum (35%) Copper (45%)\n\nI am Canadian and fact of the matter is that we started this tariff fiasco last year. The USA is done being ripped off.

Turdeau is nothing more than a communist POS and needs to be removed and charged with TREASON and many more crimes. As for Tariffs, why doesn't this low life bring to light the 270% Tariffs on Milk to the US, 298% on butter, 245% on cheese, 238% on chicken,57% on barley seed, 45% on Aluminum, 48% on copper, 45% on cars, and the list goes on, all Trump wanted was the border cleaned up of criminals and drugs and this POS is turning it into a trade war. He has no money for additional border security, but he can send billions to Zelensky, another criminal pile of garbage. When the hell are Canadians going to wake up to the criminals in power ???????????????

Most of the world have had enough of Tramp, there is a lot of people around the world who will refuse to purchase American goods from now on and the diplomatic fallout will last for a couple of terms. Tramp will probably move to put tariffs on goods from the EU and their retaliatory tariffs will result in a 25% increase in the price of everyday products that the American public purchase. If tariffs are imposed on the EU that will mean at least 70% of American goods will have tariffs on them. Tramps next book will be, how to crash an economy within two months of taking office, so much for the art of the deal! This is a really pointless interneine trade war and the collaborator in chief getting cosy with Russia is another example of Tramps deranged priorities.

My heart hurts watching this. As an American, I respect and agree with Prime Minister Trudeau. Canada has been a kind and generous ally, and our current government leaders are just coming up with excuses for this stupid ass trade war. \n\nI am so sorry to all the Canadian citizens whom this negatively impacts. I hope you will show grace to those of us who voted against Trump and who continue to stand up to this tyrant.
2025-03-04 0
Trump speak just like a third grader , bullying and disgraceful. But I blame them idiots that voted for him back in the office. They will be suffering the pain that he caused .\nCanada supposed to be our friend, our ally why He started the trade war with ?
2025-03-04 0
All he needed to do to secure Canada's borders. They should be doing that anyways. But Trudeau decides to hurt his own people by having a trade war with the USA. CANADIANS are angry with Trudeau
2025-03-04 0
Canada will feel it much more than america, let the trade war begin!
2025-03-04 0
Trump doesn't care that he's starting a trade war w other countries bcus it's not about money its about power. They want to tear down the US and the ppl by making the ppl poor and destitute so they can swoop in w all the money & control everything. They want to rebuild a new government that's a dictatorship.
2025-03-04 0
Similar trade war against Trudeau wrong administration only but not against Canadian people.
2025-03-04 0
FUCK YOU… pay the tariff… I like how they call tariffs a TRADE WAR… we don’t need Canada California has more ppl than Canada!
2025-03-04 0
There are no winners in a trade war. True. Look at history. So sorry about this decision by Trump. This is a very clear speech. May the United States powers that be reconsider this current tariff and fentanyl issues. As an American citizen I wish to work with Canadians and your government. Generations of common goals and friendship need to be upheld. My wish is for reconciliation.

Autarky and Autocracy, Dicktatoes and Dickhead Economics, hand in hand.\nI urge Canada to seek maximum assistance from all those who LOVE Canada, Canadians, Canadian Products that have so benefitted this world of ours.\nAutarky never works - IT CANNOT STAND FOR LONG.\n\n1. North Korea (Juche Policy)\nNorth Korea's commitment to Juche (self-reliance) has led to severe economic stagnation and recurring famines, most notably in the 1990s, when an estimated 600,000–3 million people died due to food shortages.\nThe lack of trade and foreign investment has stifled technological progress and industrial growth.\nNorth Korea is now heavily dependent on China for food, fuel, and economic support despite its official autarkic stance.\n2. Albania under Enver Hoxha (1944–1992)\nHoxha's regime pursued extreme isolationism, severing ties with both the Soviet Union and China.\nThe economy collapsed due to lack of trade, modern technology, and external investment.\nBy the late 1980s, Albania was one of the poorest and most backward countries in Europe, with widespread shortages of food, medicine, and basic goods.\n3. Spain under Franco (1940s–1950s)\nFrancisco Franco initially pursued autarquía after the Spanish Civil War, aiming to make Spain self-sufficient.\nThe policy resulted in economic stagnation, black markets, food shortages, and a declining standard of living.\nBy the 1950s, Franco was forced to abandon autarky in favor of liberalization and foreign investment, which led to the later Spanish Miracle of rapid economic growth.\n4. Argentina under Juan Perón (1946–1955)\nPerón aimed for economic independence through import substitution and state control of industries.\nInitially, Argentina benefited from post-war trade surpluses, but as reserves dwindled and industry struggled without external competition, inflation and inefficiencies mounted.\nThe economy ultimately deteriorated, forcing a shift back to trade and foreign investment.\n5. Maoist China (1950s–1970s)\nMao Zedong’s push for self-sufficiency, particularly during the Great Leap Forward, led to disastrous economic consequences.\nAgricultural mismanagement and isolationist policies contributed to the Great Chinese Famine (1959–1961), causing an estimated 15–45 million deaths.\nChina only saw major economic improvement after opening up to global trade under Deng Xiaoping’s reforms in the late 1970s.

What a strong, fact based response. Never been more proud of Trudeau. Trump has chosen to start a trade war that is going to hurt Americans the most. Let's join hands to support local businesses by buying local when possible, even when it hurts the pocket. Standing strong with Canada ?? . We will come out strong ???
2025-03-04 0
First economic war then a military invasion. I believe the Americans are setting the stag for a ground invasion of Canada using the escalating trade war as a pretext for a real war. I think everyone needs to consider the possibility that Trump may in fact be an agent of Russia with a single mission to bring down the USA and her allies.
2025-03-04 0
How is it a trade war when all countries have the sovereign governments right to tax. Every country will ofcourse look for their own interest first. Looks like Canada is going to have a crash landing economy.
2025-03-04 0
last time he did it everyone complained but biden kept the tariffs and nobody complained signaling to trump that he was right, the real trick is to call it a trade war then they can both raise taxes on their citizens which is exactly what trudeau just did whilst making it look like he's st george off to fight dragons
2025-03-04 0
The world is actually complete and utterly doomed ? if you don't laugh you will cry. Everytime I mention isreal my comment is removed. Trade wars, rubbing shoulders with terrorists, favouring dictators. This is ridiculoussssss?
2025-03-04 0
Idiotic move that potentially put Canadian life into hyper inflation. Canada cannot win a spitting trade war with the US, period. You know I've got a better idea - lift that 100% tariff against Chinese EV. That will not only prevent a price hike of consumer goods in Canada, but also piss Trump off, deeply.
2025-03-04 0
The moment Pres. Trump threatened Canada with the tariff trade war months ago, I was shocked. How come your closest ally, a friend, your closest neighbor, shared the longest border in the world, fought side by side in ww1, ww2, middleast conflicts etc., and now the relationship starts to deteriorate because of one man's arrogance.
2025-03-04 0
No, the US did not launch a trade war, Donald Trump did, there’s a big difference.
2025-03-04 0
I don't think I've ever seen or heard Trudeau this angry before. Justifiably so. I hate that your government has done this but Canada will not back down. There is no real justification for these tarrifs other than Donald trying to take our land and resources. \n\nYou can think what you want about Trudeau, but he is absolutely correct. These tarrifs, this trade war against a long time ally, partner, and friend, is indeed a very dumb thing to do.
2025-03-04 0
It's not so much a trade war with Mexico or Canada, its a drug war.
2025-03-04 0
Canada already had high tariff's on us and Canada knows they can't win this trade war. Should have worked better helping with the border, Trudeau lies out his ass constantly. His own people have called him out for his corruption.
2025-03-04 0
The US didn't declare a trade war, we didn't want it either. President Trumpski did this all on his own.
2025-03-04 0
World Trade War any country with trade deficit even surplus getting tarrifs on US industries ..
2025-03-04 0
Canada has taken advantage of the US for far too long; the US needs jobs; manufacturing in the US will bring jobs back; forcing Canada to trade fairly will bring manufacturing back to the US. If Trudeau wants a trade war, he will lose. We can get those raw materials from other sources.

Trade war..first stage to invade one country
2025-03-04 0
“SO TODAY DONALD TRUMP LAUNCHED A TRADE WAR” We don’t claim him! Besides his supporters!
2025-03-04 0
POTUS Trump is making irreparable blunders on key geopolitical issues like Ukraine, Gaza, trade wars with friendly trading nations. He is systematically destroying the 80 years old US foreign policy and global standing as a democracy that was instrumental for building trust and confidence on USA at the global stage.\n\nTragically, under the so called MAGA mantra he will destroy not only US economy but also of the global economy with his scandalous and outrageous protectionist trade policies and geopolitical blunders.
2025-03-04 0
Indeed. Make that make sense. You have opened a trade war and it's going to hurt your people, Mr. President. You will see protests in your country. We will do what we have to do. Your people are going to suffer and get really tired of all the 'winning'. This is on you. We have complied with all requests. You betrayed us. We won't forget that.
2025-03-04 0
Let's see how long snow Mexico will last in this trade war I'll give it a week or two before he's crawling to TRUMP for forgiveness
2025-03-04 0
6:43 Sure we stuck to our word but that's irrelevant. Dump is intent on getting his hands on Canada's natural resources because he thinks leaving any money on the table is criminal. He thinks it's a failing that we haven't treated our environment like an oligarch's playground, selling off everything to the highest bidder. This is what he has TOLD you he is planning for America and he's created this trade war smokescreen to keep everyone distracted while he does it. He won't be done until all of North America and Greenland are barren and there's no profit left to make.

Trump plans to benefit China due to trade wars
2025-03-04 0
The Nazi dictator in Canada just started a trade war against the USA. Ask Trump he will confirm it.
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau does not speak for Canadians. NO to Ukraine. NO to Israel. NO to trade wars.
2025-03-04 0
Yall are sheep. \nEvery country needs imports. But America relies on so many other countries to keep itself going is more than unhealthy. If China and the US went to war, yes, China would suffer. But look around your house, I bet most of it says - Made In China. That can NOT happen to the extent it is. \n\nFun Fact- when Russia, Ukraine war started, Russia couldn’t get Coke ( Soda ) now Russia has many knock offs that they say taste just like ours. Point is, Russia started making their own. Yes, the US will always need imports. But did you know over a dozen + countries already have & had tariffs on the US for a LONG time, some are even our “ Allies “. Do you know why they do it? To protect their economy. To protect domestic goods. The short term is always the hardest. But it’s been proven that the long run, tariffs actually help a country’s economy. Also, the US gets shafted when it comes down to a lot of trade deals. Yeah, okay, imports are great… ( If you are getting a good deal )

This child molester is garbage, let the trade wars begin.
2025-03-04 0
I'm proud of you Prime Minister Trudeau! Stand your ground! Thank you for representing us so well in this moment. \n\nDoes it make sense to be at war with your peaceful neighbors? Canadians can trade with the rest of the world.
2025-03-04 0
The trade war is on indeed! Buckle up everyone. Stock up on food, water, and essential supplies. Keep enough cash in your possession, keep enough cash in your possession, and best of all, PRAY. This is a war between ideologies, and WE, The People, are right in the middle of it.

The irony is USA gets a bargain price on oil from Canada as an allie who always supported USA including supporting USA wars. A close friendship in fact family as many if not most Canadians have relatives that live in the USA. The selling of discounted oil to the USA helps the USA economically and the main reason why the USA buys more from Canada than Canada from USA but then complains they buy too much from Canada. Stop buying the discounted oil then, go buy the oil on the world market at a higher price and problem solved or Canada just raise the price of oil until they buy sufficient amount less that balances the trade. Old saying, be careful what you ask for?
2025-03-04 0
I finally have respect and admiration for Trudeau. I wanted him to resign, but not if he can beat Trumpler at this trade war. I'm so very sorry to you Americans...at least to all the ones who did NOT vote for that Clownident.
2025-03-04 0
There are concerns regarding President Trump’s support for a nation that has faced considerable international criticism, as it may negatively affect America’s global reputation. Moreover, a trade war may not represent the most effective strategy for addressing the complex economic challenges at hand.
2025-03-04 0
Says the man who allows fentanyl to flow into Canada and poison its citizens. Ask yourself Trudeau why there is a trade war with your closest ally and why you support Neo Nazi stronghold's in Ukraine?
2025-03-04 0
Very true nobody wins in a trade war!
2025-03-04 0
The Oligarchs are getting their dreams fulfilled. It's not a trade war its a decoy to what is coming. Population is blindsided. \n Won't be a Christmas either.. \nWait and see !\n Putin Elon & Trump are the world leaders like it or not.
2025-03-04 0
? wait so wouldn’t that mean he is choosing to do it to his people too? Saying trade wars don’t work is like saying sanctions in Russia won’t work either. Hahahahaha. He is almost gone so he just doesn’t give a crap anymore
