Plain and simple, Indians brainwashed about holding citizenships abroad whereas the reality of those of us who are with foreign visas, realize it is just hype. We Indians are succors. Best advice is never ever believe touts, media or friends that it is greener in the West. Go on a short work contract not take a loan or sell up and leave. One of the family memvers may end up with a part time or casual or a fixed contract job. These Western countries are unlike job visas to the Gulf so be very careful before making a move in hope of a better life.

I was born in Canada and my family was from the Caribbean and were brown. Learned Canadian history from our first PM John a McDonald, Wilfred Laurier, learned French. We were hoping Quebec did not separate from Canada. Our whole family is loyal to one country and that is Canada only. The small minority of Indians have destroyed what made us Canada. Playing Punjabi music downtown at Yonge Dundas that never happened. These punjabis are deliberately travelling from Brampton to dance at Yonge Dundas to shove their music in our face. Even my Indian friends who were born here want all Indian immigrants gone they are pissed off. Deport the low skill Indian immigrants and the ones who defrauded the system, the slumlords who exchange rent for sex and the human trafficking.

I never see Indians or asian people begging for money , they are not homeless or self induced drug addicts , most of the immigrants pull their own weight , quit whining about how they dont belong here ,they didnt come here and kill the natives pillage and plunder the resourses, we learned absolutely nothing ( Europeans) coming from Europe , kill the natives and steal the land , oh so charming ,your proud of that ? I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.

i have a couple of friends that are Legal immigrants in CDA now, they said trying to get family members into CDA (now) for landed status in almost impossible, in fact their visitation visas are almost expired and all the former LOOPHOLES are gone

Idk i think you need to realize that we also have our bias in addition to you having yours. Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. What is normal and known /familiar and normal so we aren’t ignorant to , is completely different. \n\nFor us we have our pockets usually in more rural less populated areas further away from larger cities where there is more diversity but that’s the same often in many countries that you will find some of the louder racist homophobic intolerant voices typically in places that truly are unfamiliar and ignorant to the experience of growing up with and around much of any diversity of varying kinds. So it’s not to say we don’t have racism and intolerance of course like anywhere we do. It’s just contained and the range and frequency and intensity is MUCH different. We distinguish nuances of diff cultures and religions more easily and in larger numbers we’re more familiar with diff ways of life , language , food, dress , holidays , values and used to a much less segregated way of existing even when we are differnt from each other as the NORM. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Quite honestly. \n\nI think the absolute undying favourable passionate upholding and support of nationalistic, capitalist, hyper individualistic mentality about society as a whole (from my Canadian born and bred perspective lol) makes the differences even more glaring blaring and hard to swallow for us lol. I think more Canadians would feel exactly how that comment stated , that you felt was not fair for us to experience America as. I think the truth is a lot of Canadians are being too polite to let you know that’s exactly how a lot of America comes off to a lot of Canada ?

Friends and my family will all move to Canada. We came from South Sudan and we are now in the US which promised a lot but gave only very little. Canada has much more to offer us than the US will ever give us. Asylum is the door to wealth and happiness and we deserve our rights above all else to be provided with housing and food, that is all we ask.

Sometimes, what seems like an ‘evil’ situation can bring blessings to others. For example, while death is sad and brings grief ?, the lack of it would mean no work for morgues, grave diggers, coffin makers, or florists ⚰️?. My friend’s family migrated from Mexico in the 50s. I remember his grandmother talking about how progressive, fair, and prosperous the US was by comparison. Canadian expat living in Asia. Just returned from a visit to Canada. While spending time with family and catching up with them was awesome, I couldn’t wait to be back in Asia. I’m enjoying a lifestyle here in a tropical beach that would be unreachable in Canada. Eating out all my meals, going out, attending cool events, flying frequently to nearby countries for a weekend or week or weeks at a time. Eating clean healthy food, meeting inspiring and friendly people. Typing this from the beach on a Sunday morning while enjoying my big freshly squeezed carrot juice cup that I paid 60 cents for! \n\nCanada only for visiting once a year. \n\nSave money, work remotely or better yet, learn a high income skill and live anywhere while making money online is the new FREEDOM PLAN. Canadians complain because they've only seen good throughout their lives. I, as an immigrant, appreciate everything this country has given me and truly love Canada from the bottom of my heart. Travelling to a country and living + working in the same country are 2 very different experiences. My friends, family, and colleagues based in the UK, Spain, US, Australia, and Dubai all have been complaining about things very similar to what you're complaining about.
