A weapon is a weapon. Whether it's used for assault or defence. Tats my opinion. If everyones allowed to carry it in there then it's ok. But there should not be any bias based on religion . We all need to understand that we are in a new era now. We have to reach on a consensus together for peaceful living. I am from India and I have many Sikh friends. But still, in all humility, If u have taken an oath to keep it with yourself forever you have to understand that you are not the same as everyone else, and it will limit you access to many other things in life.

I live in india and i havent seen any of my sikh friends in schools, colleges and even in my work place carrying a kirpan or knife, i have seen only nihangs or sikh priest carrying them. I think when you move to a foreign land you tend to show your identity aggressively to be different, even muslims in western countries are more radical than here.

I speak for myself and not on behalf of anyone.\n\nFirstly, in any such situation be it any religion, caste etc, before reacting, imagine if this was happening to your own son/daughter, your own brother/sister. \n\nSecondly what faith one chooses to practice and how they embrace it, be it wearing a kirpan, a burqa, or keeping a shika(choti), etc, especially opinions like what one can or cannot wear/do, lead to more harm than good. We don't live there, it's not our religion, it's not our life, then who are we to condemn and be opinionated about them.\n\nThirdly, whether the kirpan should be allowed inside an educational campus can only be determined by the campus authorities, the local police and the Sikh community representatives there.\n\nYes, he could have and should have worn it on the inside just like so many Brahmins wear the sacred white thread (yajnopavita).\n\nHe could have taken prior permission from the college authorities to freely wear it if possible and all this could have been avoided. Maybe he doesn't get the permission to wear it, who knows, there are countless possibilities.\n\nAnd lastly, I've come across so many comments labelling the Sikhs as Khalistanis, then if there's some other incident, commenting that people of so and so faith are terrorists, etc.\n\nBy all means, please call us Khalistanis, please call us terrorists, call us anything you like, but we'll continue to respect and love everyone.\n\nIt's a shame that our Jawaans are dying on the border fighting for their country, fighting for our country, fighting for us and we are creating divisions amongst ourselves. There is 2 types of Sikh..... one that are baptized and live that life and then that knife would actually be part of his religion and there is a few extra things..... and then there is Sikh that are not living that life and are more peaceful and would not have a knife like that unless they ( wanted to for fun) ....... if he lives his life as the type that always has that as a Sikh this was a violation of his wright to religion and is a serious lawsuit and also wrongful detaining .....

Uneducated people are everywhere but Karens feel proud of that. Karens love to face hate and insult to them but unfortunately, Indians moving outside of India are not like that. And remember Karens, don't ever dream of locking horns with a Sikh guy, they are polite and friendly but if infuriated, can make your entire life a living hell. What I have noticed all my life living in Canada is Caucasians don't like hearing the truth about anything where they are feel they are being made to look like the villain, but the objective is not to make anyone feel like they're on trial but to start acknowledging that this is going on regardless of if you've ever experienced/seen it or not. The reason Caucasians don't see it is because of what they call White Privilege. Caucasians will never have to deal with the subtleties of racism that minorities face everyday because they will never be treated that way even in other countries they visit or live. Many Caucasians aren't aware that stereotyping is racism as you will notice them say the weirdest things and make really weird assumptions like calling a Korean woman Chinese or mistaking a Hindu or Sikh for someone Islamic, which you should never do. Cultural insensitivity happens here because many Caucasians don't care much to learn about another culture and because of this there's it's creating even more issues. The race problem is Canada is huge and people are trying to say that it isn't but in the coming years more and more evidence is going to come out to the point where it will be irrefutable and there will either be a reform or civil war.

I dont mind having punjabi, Hindus and Sikhs living in brampton they're very nice people and their food is delicious, but I will say this: in all of my life living in brampton i never experienced so many issues with driving in brampton until indian immagrants migrated to this city , and because of all the car accidents and dangerous road rage, car insurance sky rocketed and now someone like me who has never been in a car collision has to pay hundreds of dollars because of their negligent driving habbits...... my point is please be safe, focus and dont be distracted when driving. I used to live in Brampton and this is the city where I first landed. No hatred for the city but people have ruined it. I'm a brown guy myself so I can't be racist against my own people and tbh, some of the best people I know in Canada are Sikhs but even they accept the fact that there is a large number of bad apples in their community. Sikhs have played a major part in both positive and negative way, to make and break this city.\n\nInsurance scams in Brampton cost their citizens to pay one of the highest premiums in the country. Generally, drivers in Brampton have no fuckin' idea how to drive because the licences were literally bought. \n\nA large number of people of our brown community always hell bent on abusing the system, wherever they go. We bring the same back home mindset here in Canada rather follow the system. \n\nThe only thing mostly brown community is focused on is how to make money and that's all. Don't try to learn the language, don't like to mix with people, don't care about the laws or anything. They only like to have nice big houses, show off their leased fancy cars and that's all.\n\nI left this city for good and don't regret my decision at all when I see numerous videos about the bad situation in Brampton. I'd love to move back to Ontario but cannot live in this city anymore. One thing really pissed me off when I was there that most people expect every brown person to speak Punjabi and when I used to tell them that I don't speak or understand Punjabi, you could see the surprized looks on their face.
