I’m American but I stand with everything he said!! trump and the republicans are siding with dictators and continue to lie to them about everything….I never thought as an American… the supposed leaders of the democracy free world….would really allow a felon to destroy our country and make us TRAITORS siding with DICTATORS ?

You didn't want to meet with Mr. Trump (who you say is your friend) to make fair and balanced trade. That seems like a one-sided friendship and we are about COMMON SENSE. Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

As an American, I do not at all blame Canada’s response to trump’s irresponsible and embarrassing behavior. I know this will affect me, but I side with Canada completely. I just hope these next 4 years pass quickly and we can get a more reasonable administration into power.

As an American, I don’t watch CNN clips and believe what politicians say on either side to get my news. However, it’s absolutely true that EU, and China places tariffs on the US. It is also true that United States provide most of the security for all the free nations. At what point do we say enough? I do not know if Mexico or Canada has tariffs on US goods before this. But if they did, they have become quite entitled, haven’t they.
