He’s a small minded man, didn’t he step down ? Canada needs a new leader, Ukraine will take the deal to end the war, Trump can and will do what he said .. it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of Trump personally.. it’s going to be uncomfortable people don’t like change but Trump is not going to stop he’s just getting started and he doesn’t care what people think of him he’s confident in his choices

I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

American from North Carolina here. 100% support for Canada's reaction. Many of us can't wait for this utter nightmare to end.

idk there was so many things imported from Canada. but Canada Canada imports half of its goods from the U.S. over all the i think Canada will hurt more. no real winner at the end

Trump is trying to end war that’s why he wants to make peace with Russia! And there are a LOT of rude Canadians just as Americans! I don’t think Canada and America ever been allies or close friends HONESTLY speaking! But what Trudeau is making a point, this will not go well for everyone! Wow this handsome man knows French as well! How smart of him!

I'm sorry our Canadian's fellows, this is not personal, it's just business. All this year the USA economy has been decreased because we buy (importing) more goods than selling (exporting). We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. After our economy is better, we can make new deals.
\nAbout Fentanyl, it is funny that he said that it was all good and after that, saying just in the last months implemented all kinds of security measures. LOL
\nHe speaks nice, but he is not a smart guy. Putting tariffs back to the USA makes it worse with Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman, he can keep increasing the taxes and in the end, Canada will be hurt more than the USA. I suggest to peacefully open a negotiation with Trump, not to fight back at the same level... don't take it personally, it is just business.

As an American, this makes sense. We have always had a deficit with canada and Europe. Trump wants that to end, and America is always stronger on its own. As much as I like our neighbors in Canada, your government is trash and has been trashing your country. You guys need your own donald

lol ? nobody cares what Canada thinks or says. In the end he can do nothing and it’s burning him up inside ?

I As an American citizen can only hope that we would have a president in office with the intelligence, compassion and dignity that PM Trudeau has. At this time I am truly ashamed of my country. Especially the ones that put this hateful, revenge seeking, criminal monster in our White House. I stand with you 100% Canada. I also hope that maybe within the next year, trump will be gone. I don't know how or where but just gone. As intelligent as prime minister Trudeau is I have to disagree with one comment he made. trump is NOT a smart man. He is nothing but a 34 count convicted felon, rapist and criminal wannabe dictator. I shudder at the thought of the end of his four year disaster. What will our country do when we have no allies whatsoever. He loves russia and putin, His puppet master. He does not understand that Russia has never been our friend, is not our friend. And never will be our friend. He just loves putin because He wants to be just like him. He is the United States very own Adolf Hitler. Also , I have removed our flag from my front yard that I so proudly displayed my entire life. It will be raised again but only after this nightmare called trump is gone! Please accept the apology from millions of Americans that stand with you. We are truly sorry and we are suffering with you. God help us. And God Bless Canada ❤

Canada’s 25% Tariffs? A Win for American Businesses in the Long Run\n\nAt first glance, Canada slapping a 25% tariff on U.S. goods might seem like a negative for America. But in reality, this move could actually work in our favor by making the U.S. economy stronger, more self-sufficient, and less dependent on foreign markets.\n\t1.\tBoosting American Manufacturing & Production – When Canada makes U.S. goods more expensive with tariffs, American businesses have a huge opportunity to shift focus to domestic markets and new trade partners. This could bring more production back home and reduce reliance on Canada.\n\t2.\tEncouraging Trade Diversification – The U.S. isn’t limited to Canada. If they want to play hardball, we can expand exports to other countries with fewer trade restrictions. Canada makes up about 15% of U.S. exports, but the rest of the world is wide open. This is a chance to diversify and strengthen our economy.\n\t3.\tMaking Canada Pay More for U.S. Goods – Tariffs don’t just hurt exporters—they also raise costs for Canadian consumers. If Canada wants American products, they’ll end up paying more or have to settle for alternatives that might be lower quality or more expensive from other countries.\n\t4.\tStrengthening America’s Negotiating Position – If Canada wants to raise tariffs, that gives the U.S. even more leverage in future trade talks. The U.S. economy is far larger and more powerful than Canada’s, and in the long run, they need us more than we need them.\n\t5.\tReducing America’s Trade Deficit – If fewer goods are exported to Canada, that means more products stay in the U.S. This helps lower dependence on foreign markets and could even stabilize prices for American consumers.\n\nBottom Line: Canada’s Move Hurts Them More Than It Hurts the U.S.\n\nIf Canada wants to put tariffs on U.S. goods, let them. In the long run, it pushes America to be more self-reliant, strengthens our industries, and forces Canada to pay the price for their own policies.\n\nAt the end of the day, America has the stronger economy, better resources, and more trade options—Canada needs U.S. trade more than we need theirs. If they want to make American goods more expensive, they’ll feel it a lot more than we will.

Dear Justin, 75 million Americans voted against Donald Trump in the recent election. We appreciate your speaking directly to us today and in recent speeches you have given. We know what a good ally you have been to the US and we also know your primary concern is to Canadian citizens. While many of us have done what we could do and we also know the current trade arrangement was negotiated with you by Donald Trump in his previous term which leaves many of us scratching our heads. For my part it deeply saddens me that this has happened and all we ask or all that I ask is that you remember those of us who did not vote for this. Slightly less than half of the country. When this is over, and it will end one day we look forward to breaking bread with Canada again.

Trudeau is the epitome of western society's moral decay, under his leadership Canada has become a radical third world country, from gay marriage to state sponsored marihuana, to state sponsored gambling that floods the country. As a result, Canada today is the bedrock and safe haven for criminals, while ordinary Canadian people's lives continually decline, especially the working class who are struggling yet still cannot make ends meet. A lot of Canadians either have moved to the US, or they would like for Canada to be part of the US so that they have some hope. I am sorry for the Canadian people but have no sympathy for Trudeau.

The close relationship between the US and Canada has ended. We have to do more than stop buying alcohol, much much more. This was never about fentenal Trump just wants to take over our country. He wants to be another Putin and yes he called him Donald, just like Trump called him in a demeaning way as Justin or Governor Trudeau. Payback is a bitch

So stupid Trump just ended relationships with Canada, Mexico, Ukraine and the whole of Europe. Brilliant.

He needs to restart the pipelines to allow oil to move freely between the provinces. End dependence on US oil, Canada has plenty of its own.

Trump has placed himself in a corner. He's completely incompetent. Because he is a bully and thinks people will roll over, he is going to look weak when he has to roll them back. When Canada cuts off the water, car parts, etc. and people start losing jobs such as car manufacturing, there will be a price to pay. It won't be an end to MAGA, but if he lets this go on for too long, he will never come back from it.

From Massachusetts. We do not want this either!!!!!?. We stand with Canada more than our own government….meaning this President who got elected with less than a majority vote. Even his supporters are raging against him. I wish that there was something more that we could do as individual American citizens.?? I will pray for this insanity to end.

Oh no maple syrup ............nooooo . Have any of you Canadians looked into what Canada imports vs exports .......... remeber all those new green deal garbage is out the window here in the USA, so lumber is going back up , mining , etc . Just because our countries are next to each other doesn't make us neighbors......... your country has allowed trahs polices to over ride your citizen rights, you've filled your country with migrants , you support crazy sick policies allowing sexual perversion to be put before public saftey . If your countries economy is so effected by this maybe you need this , got a little to relaxed riding tr he coat tails of being next to America. And don't take it personal , this isn't about you as a country but more about American calling out americna companies who build factories only your side , get great deals for taxes and then import the products back to American at a premium retail price and then profit off the American people while offering nothing back .........the end goal is to either make thise companies pay more to get products over the boarder , or bring the factories back here and employee americans .........and last I check the Canadian government doesn't own or produce any products so the things that will be imported to usa will be the ones with a cost rise to the companies that are producing them ........ them............

Trump says he needs nothing Canada to offer…..yet oil and gas tariffs are only 10%.\nHmmm….\nI say shut off the taps to America, flip off the switch for electricity and make him come crawling back. Because that’s the only way American voters will understand what he is doing. America needs to revolt and end his reign of stupidity, because this is just the beginning of his\ntyrannical dictatorship.

Trump is the disappointment .... give us 25% . The good country is stable. And also about the drugs and ilegal alians ...is nothong to do with Canada. But Trump says so . And also say i love Canada, and you can clearly see on he's face looks like is one big enemy of Canada .. Trump playimg same and even more stupid game as 2018, and many American did suffer, and he's doing things again, going up all ready, but Trump promised to be down and even Ukraine War will end in one Day..... woow what the idiot

Canadians are already crying thats why this guy resigned. I dont know what will chage for them as a result of tariff. Economy is bad, inflation is high and people cannot make their ends meet. So stop this useless rant and get on with your lives, and do what is necessary to make Canada great again.

Pay your own way Canada. We're not worried about you, you should worry about yourselves and fire this guy. He's destroyed your country and is only doing more harm. We're done giving you $200billion a year while we're going bankrupt. Also you BETTER invest billions in stopping Fentanyl from getting into America from your country. We are done asking for these things and has a president that is following his citizens will. So remember when you talk bad about our president you are talking bad about most of us Americans. Americans love Canadians, but don't abuse us or push us. It WILL not work out good for your country. America FIRST,we will no longer stay on the bankruptcy path and we're ending Fentanyl coming into our country. One way or the other. Either you're part of the solution or you're part of the problem.

I keep thinking of what happened to Mussolini, and what happened to him. Donald open your eyes the American people will not tolerate what your doing. Goes for you also Elon. As a Canadian I will fight till the end! You will never defeat Canada.

I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. He asked Canada to reign in illegal immigration to the US and Canada complied. He said do something about fetanyl and Canada did. Trump said the tariff's were because Canada was not acting on these but now they have and we imposed the tariff's anyway. We look like liars and cheats. \nEven with Mexico we threatened tariffs if they didn't help with crackdown on illegal immigration, fetanyl, and drug cartels. Mexico complied and is also helping us. And we still slapped tariffs on them. We lied to Mexico too. \nAnd now we want everyone to trust us to negotiate a peaceful end to the Ukraine war with Trump threatening more sanctions on China and the EU. What the heck should they trust us and believe us after what we just did. \nWhen it comes to defining your character your willingness to keep your word overrules absolutely everything else. Our president gave his word that if these countries took certain actions there would be no tariffs. They did and now he slapped them both in the face with sanctions anyway. He broke his word. This is a dishonorable action. I hope it does not escalate from there. \nIf it was about promoting or building domestic industries, I think the Canadians could have helped us with that but now.... good luck now that bridge has been burned.
|

He just threatened Donald Trump and schmoozed in his face that he's aligning with Russia and Putin. Do you really think Canada that it's going to end well for you? I don't think so

A prolonged trade war with Canada will will smash the US economy. A prolonged trade war with Canada, Mexico, China and Europe, will END the US economy.\n\nPS: Dear Americans, your President is trying to ruin the market value of your country so him and his friends can buy it on the cheap...

This won’t end well for Canada

First: sorry for my bad english. It is not my First language. \n\nThis speech was remarkable. No lies, no BS, just the facts. Wish we would here the same out of the White House. \n\nAs a german who knows about german history and how everything started back then I'm terrified how fast the United States of America are moving towards a dictatorship.\n\nEvery politician around the free world should be worried about what is going to happen if DT keeps doing what he is doing, which is undermining every treaty and contract the US is having with the rest of the world.\n\nAnd on a personal note: as a child I always dreamed of someday moving to the USA. After beeing there on holiday in 2017 and also driving to Canada to visit some friends, that dream changed.\n\nDon't get me wrong, I still love your country, but you elected the worst President for the second time! WHY??? You could have known what it would be like, everything was reported on by this network and many others.\n\nAs one commentator said: this is not going to end well. And I and most of Europe and the rest of the world are thinking the same and we are afraid of the things to come.

Trudeau screwed Canadians & they couldn’t wait to get him out of office!! \nCanada is broke and can’t afford 25% tariffs. All Canada has to do is open business in USA!\nMade in the USA ?? \nCanada gave 20billion to Ukraine vs USA giving over 150 billion plus militaryequipment equipment. Ukraine realizes Trump was right, The WAR needs to end. ????????????
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Every year 20 million Canadian travel to USA and that will stop soon and USA hotels and small businesses and airlines lose about 17 billion dollars just there, At the end USA will lose more than Canadian, Trump bows down for Putin but stab Canada and Mexico from back.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
What exactly did Trudeau do against Fentanyl in Canada? He could've ended the entire countries homelessness and created drug rehab facilities for everyone with the amount of money he sent to Ukraine. He probably could've used the military equipment that was shipped to patrol the border and prevent more of the drug entering the country.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Who opened the border to those who came to Canada in the name of student and ended up to the U.S.? Now you feel the pain of this kind of war but why you did help them arrest Huawei's princess? You should step down and give the next leader opportunity to handle this situation. Trump won't make deal with you.

It is interesting to see how many people believe they are right supporting Trudeau (and Selensky) and not realizing they are too dumb to understand the whole picture. USA can be happy to have a president who finally ends the big Deep State scam against the own taxpaying people. UK, Canada, France, Germany etc. should also have such leaders to save the people from betrayal by elites and Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Go Canada! Be tough on America. America deserves NO sympathy. I'm sorry. Most Americans are sorry about this situation. I hate the orange troll and I'm just as angry at the people that voted for him. But, I don't think even they thought he would do this and probably trusted the Congress to stop these things. But, the Republican side of Congress is made up of cowards. This will hurt America. I just hope in the end, this will make America better because people will realize the consequences of their stupidity. And stop electing spineless and evil representatives.

Even before the actions taken by Canada, one should look at balance of Fentanyl illegal trade. \n
\nOn average 46 lb of Fentanyl were smuggled from Canada to US , which divided by the population of the US comes to a 0.049 mg of fentanyl per US Citizen
\nOn the other direction, 950 lb Fentanyl were smugeled from the from US to Canada, which when divided by the population of Canada, ends up being 10.88 mg of fentanyl per Canadian Citizen\nNow, scientists say 2 mg is a lethal dose.
\nJust think about it, trump's US could kill each Canadian 5 times over by Fentanyl. \nSo who is supposed to be pissed?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump isn’t a smart man. But he is a man baby who loves to be told he’s a smart man, which is why other leaders do it. \n\nI do wonder what the end game is. Trump wants to make Canada the 51st state (to get the natural resources and despoil the country by drilling for oil). Does he really imagine that this is going to endear Canadians to America. Is he planning to deteriorate the relationship so that eventually he invades Canada? Because the tariffs make absolutely no sense for the reasons Trump has given.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I mean he’s certainly well spoken Im sure we all can agree but factual….not so much. People do your research on Chinese Triad gang members buying up real estate in Vancouver to launder money from drug sales. There is no doubt a growing problem in Canada that is impacting the US. By the numbers Canada illegal border crossings and Fentanyl crossing volume might pale in comparison to Mexico but it’s important to note that it’s still a rising problem they’ve yet to fully understand. Look at how much of the Northern US border is unguarded compared to the southern border. This tariff war between the US and Canada is no doubt a problem but Canada is absolutely a part of the reason it exists. In the end please remember there’s always two sides to every story and mainstream media is anything but objective when it comes to how they cover them.

No one wants to be a American here there nuts shame o. You Republicans and in the end you will be out of office you. Don't belong there free trade is the best trade Canada Americans are on your side corruption has taken power here
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Here's my issue with Trudeau ...you now placed your country in a position where this becomes a game of tariff chicken. This won't end well for Canada no matter what tariffs you try to envoke to counter Trump. The U.S. aren't dependent on Canada. So, what is your real endgame here matching the tariffs? Is that what the people of Canada really want to get into? Doesn't seem smart to me. It just looks like a lazy game of posturing trying impose some front like the U.S. need to back down from Canada. What a joke.
