I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

I'm sorry our Canadian's fellows, this is not personal, it's just business. All this year the USA economy has been decreased because we buy (importing) more goods than selling (exporting). We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. After our economy is better, we can make new deals. \nAbout Fentanyl, it is funny that he said that it was all good and after that, saying just in the last months implemented all kinds of security measures. LOL \nHe speaks nice, but he is not a smart guy. Putting tariffs back to the USA makes it worse with Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman, he can keep increasing the taxes and in the end, Canada will be hurt more than the USA. I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. Look at how much of the Northern US border is unguarded compared to the southern border. Here's my issue with Trudeau ...you now placed your country in a position where this becomes a game of tariff chicken. This won't end well for Canada no matter what tariffs you try to envoke to counter Trump. The U.S. aren't dependent on Canada. So, what is your real endgame here matching the tariffs?
