The Trudeau Liberals opened our borders without having the housing or jobs infrastructure in place. Trudeau has destroyed our economy and increased out taxes to the point that new home construction has ground to a halt.\n\nTrudeau has declared that he'll build enough homes in the next few years to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the rate of new home construction that he's declared calculates out to one new home completed every minute (24 hours a day) for the next ten years. We don't have the contractors, builders, or workers to accomplish this. We don't have a plan for this. Trudeau constantly declares his wild, pie in the sky promises without a step by step plan.

I think Manitoba is the cheapest place to live. Atlantic Canada, houses might sound cheap but most of them very old. To get job also is difficult. More tax and less per hour salary in New Brunswick. But good only for seniors, who retired after working in Ontario or BC or other cities.

Please, blame the govt. I don’t think citizens or immigrants are to blame. Finding stable work in Canada is a challenge these days even for permanent residents/new citizens. No guarantee of work even after acing an interview and building skills as needed. At this point I feel like immigrants are just tax paying scapegoats, who are used by the government and hated by local people. This is not real inclusiveness. Govt must give priority to their citizens and encourage immigration if there are real opportunities to offer. Everyone needs work and stability inorder to live a civilized and stable life. Calling loads and loads here to benefit the economy and politicians just be called third world trash isn’t fair.

Canada just needs to be more picky on what immigrants we bring in. Can't bring in the ones that will struggle to live here and be more taxing to the system. This is common sense to all countries.

Canada, like Australia and etc., faces a fundamental issue that makes it reliant on—or even more severely, dependent on—immigration. Of course discussing this fundamental issue is inappropriate for Canadians. The housing crisis is not caused by immigrants. While you can criticize immigration policies, they are merely the straw that broke the camel's back. It's similar to inflation; like, even if it remains at 2% per year, we will still experience the peaks and troughs of business cycles, just less intensely. Sure you can have a public housing program, where does that money come from? More and more tax money. Having to work harder to only end up with paying more taxes for those who either did not have the opporunities or didn't work as hard (who cares what the actual reasons are), just feels like a ripoff.

So many people come and commit crimes, ignore our laws and live off the government. We needed certain skilled people and I could care less what country they come from as that immigration is crucial to our economy and population. Right now there isn't enough housing for our own citizens. It's irresponsible. If families want to sponsor an immigrant family that's awesome. The rest of us want our tax money actually going to our citizens. That's not racist, that's common sense.

Tenants done pay rent, Landlord is terrified and leaves Investment property vacant. Govt charges vacant tax. Landlord hikes rent to cover interest and past dues, tenant stops paying again. Govt collects tax from both.

No wonder people do not want to rent out nowadays with disgusting rogue tenants like these. The system is broken. And the govt does not give a damn to fix it. Who in the right mind would want to rent out after seeing this. Please learn the difference between refugees and immigrants. Canada needs immigrants to fuel its economy. Profofessionals come here in Canada ready to work and pay taxes while Canadians were educated for free (k to 12) and even availed student loans before even contributing to Canada's economy. Be specific with what immigration programs you are referring to. Some immigrants do not owe you anything for being immigrants in Canada. We came here fully equipped with education and skills, bringing our savings and ready to work and pay taxes.

In total, illegal immigrants cost the local, state and federal taxpayer over $100,000.00 annually per illegal immigrant. This, while a full time minimum wage worker that pays these taxes cannot afford a single room basement apartment in a bad neighborhood.

The Canadian government subsidizes the wages of workers from India through a work-study arrangement. Most of the unskilled work in my small town (fast food and restaurants in particular) is taken by these students from India, while the teens and adults who have lived in the town their entire lives cannot get jobs because of it. My tax dollars are helping huge corporations pay wages of foreign workers, and my own child and MANY others were turned down for employment by these same companies. Not sure where these workers are living, because there is also a housing crisis in our area. Our immigration system is failing immigrants and Canadians alike.

I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Too many immigrants. The left tries to silence common sense people from speaking out by labeling anyone who rightfully wants immigration numbers to drop to sustainable levels as racist etc. This narrative must stop. The immigration system in Canada is a fraudulent criminal enterprise. Its sole purpose is to fleece unsuspecting people of their life savings and future economic output. \n\nImmigrants are sold the lie of the Canadian dream, bilked of their money on immigration services, then deposited into permanent tax enslavement, as they will never have the opportunity to invest in themselves or their communities.\n\nThe sheer scale of the plunder, not just of the immigrants themselves but of born-Canadians as well due to second order effects, is much more vast than is generally perceived.

Corporations and businesses want an increasing supply of cheap labour. The real estate/development industry wants a growing market. The International School industry lobbies for increased numbers. Canadian governments have failed the citizens of Canada who sacrificed, paid taxes and literally built this country. Replacement Theory is a reality for many Canadians these days.
