Video titles like this are so stupid. Especially when in the video itself it speaks to the vacancy rate. Why is rent so high? Because the vacancy rate is so low which proves that A LOT of people want to live in Canada. The video itself speaks to NIMBYism and municipal government’s slow reaction to accommodate construction. The only thing the Feds did is to allow more people that want to be Canadians to have a chance. Low wages and the high cost of products are the fault of greedy corporations. Those people leaving and can no longer stay in Canada is the result of natural selection. I get that everyone is struggling, and feel that we need someone to blame. Since we can’t control our neighbours that stop progress and the corporations that gouge us, as a democracy, we go after what we do control- our government- even if the problem isn’t really of their creation. This issue of affordability is happening all over the world. Corporations and those who run them disproportionately keep all the money. But that doesn’t mean that Canada isn’t a great place to live and raise a family. It’s a huge country. The only thing the Feds can do is incentivize companies to set up shop in less desirable places and eleviate demand off of Vancouver and Toronto (the usual suspects and source for all those rental shortage b-rolls). Then, the neighbours in Moose Jaw will start complaining that their town is changing too fast.

Canadian here, have lived in the UK, the Caribbean and the US since 2018. Every country is screwed in its own way. There are few enclaves for English speakers. You have to go to an area (which may not be country specific but could be state/province/city specific) where your industry thrives and you can get a job/visa/sponsorship etc. It's not pretty. I'm so tired of it. I just don't think there's a way to not be screwed if you're a millennial. The way they built the economy around the world after WW2 is collapsing but the older generations continue to believe. And they have higher numbers.

He is right about one thing. The foreign investment and money laundering is the by far the main reason why housing in unaffordable. The oligarchs around the world are able to make an immense amount of money by keeping housing unaffordable. It is the same in Australia, the US, United Kingdom and so on. Regardless of the party in the Canadian government, many of the officials are invested in the housing market themselves, so barring some kind of economic emergency or catastrophe, housing costs are not going to go down any time soon. I was living in Montreal and 4 kg of beef ribs cost $116. The food costs combined with the housing, guarantee that Canadians will be screwed for years to come.

Canada is very beautiful country honestly they tried! However I feel the pain of African travelers truly It's sad. All the blame must go to for sooo called African politicians/leaders. Why do they keep showing Justin Trudeau? These problems have been building for decades. I sold my house 5 years ago for over 100% what I paid for it, and lived in it for about 5 years. The current government had been in power for two years at the time. We’re never going to solve these problems as a nation if we just use them for partisan election engineering instead of recognizing the real causes.

Even Indians who were either born here or have lived here for 3+ decades can't stand new Indians. And that's because they bring their mentality into Canada. For newly arriving Indians who settle in Brampton, the perception is 'we are leaving one India to go to another India'.

Toronto was my home town...I am now 73 but have lived in Norwich, England for decades. My relatives have moved out of Toronto to the Muskokas; but they always tell me how expensive the city now is. My cousin was in real estate so he knows whereof he speaks! Another cousin has moved to New Brunswick. I cannot go back any more because I always see more societal decline and it depresses me thoroughly. The Toronto of the Centennial year 1967 I will always remember fondly: a paradise! Problems seemed to be something other cities experienced. And the Leafs won the Stanley Cup!

Try living in the US where you can go bankrupt over medical bills and get shot at a school, grocery store, or concert venue. Inflation is EVERYWHERE, worldwide. Unfettered GREED is the problem. That is what needs to be controlled. I agree too many immigrants and foreign students.

I lived in Brampton. Right in Eldorado Park. I'm a white guy. All temp agencies were run by these people. I go in for a job. Soon as they seen i was white. They had no jobs available. Got a guy i knew who was Indian. He called right after me. They had plenty of work. \nBrampton also has the highest insurance rate in Ontario. Because of insurance fraud. All these people. When i was young 30 years ago. I went to visit. It was a nice place. No more now. Its the worst place in Ontario.

I’m an Aussie. I went to Canada on a 2 year working holiday visa. I arrived in Vancouver. Didn’t feel like I was in Canada. Felt like I was living in Hong Kong. Moved to Calgary. You facts are way off to the point of being misleading. Then average cost of a home in the GTA is $1.2 million and by law you need a 20-25% down payment. Even if you're lucky to get that $800k home you need a 15% down payment of 15% so that's $120k! Incomes here suck you need over $250k to qualify for a mortgage...who earns that? My circle is lawyers, entrepreneurs, engineers and only 2 income professionals can get that. Over the last 10 years Canada has become very anti families and anti heterosexual so most people are single. It's also become super anti social. I've lived and traveled all over and everyone I know is making plans to go back to their home countries, countries of parentage or the US or Mexico. I remember when all of Toronto was complaining about all the homeless living in the parks and that was before the refugees so what happened back then because the homeless doesn’t like the homeless shelters is because they don’t want to be told what to do and what time to come and what time to go to bedand a lot of the refugees that apply for the refugee system. Try to hurry up and get off the system and get a job and start working, but these Canadian homeless have been homeless for a long time begging for a long time.

America is a good place to live. I have visited a number of places in the USA and it's a free first world country with alot of fun and cool places to see and do. Just like every country in the world there are positives and negatives. I think that the health care is majorly flawed in America. Health insurance is too expensive for the average person and if you get really sick and don't have health insurance in America you are probably going to die. I also don't like that there is no gun control and way to many murders and violence in the USA. Those are the 2 biggest problems that make me not want to live there.

We moved to Canada 20 plus years ago. I was young and didn't mind it now I am 42 years old. Especially the last 12 years I m start to think why should I go this torture. I'm taking a lot of vacation just to skip the system. Yes I'm brown guy the hassle not worth it. All you said so true, but there is more to it hidden about the statesco. Friend lives in a small town. She was excited that there was a new Dairy Queen opening up. Figured she could get a part time job there. 10:58 Totally agree, I am an Indian born naturalized citizen. I chose to move here, so onus is on me to acclimatize and respect the culture and tradition of the country where I moved. Respecting traditions of a country of my choosing doesn’t mean that I am loosing touch with my own traditions. When we go to meet someone, we don’t expect them to meet all our whims and fancies, but we kind of respect their way of living and adapt. Unfortunately most of us want all of the privileges but none of the responsibilities. We definitely deserve all the riches that we are getting cz we have put in all the hard work, but at the same time, we should not be exclusive when it comes to providing opportunities to other races or cultures. It should not be that as an Indian i will rent out exclusively to Indians or will give jobs exclusively to Indian students. This should be fair. We should also be open to other races and cultures. If someone didn’t open their minds and gave us opportunity, we would not have been here. We should do the same.

I just read an article from Bloomberg stating that some Ukrainian immigrants have actually left ?? Canada to go back to ?? Ukraine last year (2023) simply because it was cheaper to live in Ukraine, a country actively still at war, than in Canada.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. I'd say that there are a fair number of conservative Canadians who wouldn't mind living in the USA, or people who are rich enough that they could steer clear of a lot of the issues. However, I think most Canadians would list a European country as their first choice if things were going bad in Canada. We also have a lot of asian-canadians who would possibly also list an asian country as their first choice since they would already know the language. But yeah, USA is definitely not a first choice for I'd say 50-75% of Canadians.
