Dude. I have been considering it a lot lately... shit is getting so wack here lately and suddenly america is looking a lot more free right now... our current leadership is doign some insane shit that a lot of us feel you guys would never let this happen.

You forget that good year bad year lately, there are more children killed by gun than any other type of citizens. Canada did get its share of gun killing, not really a spree as in US. but guns licences got deal heavily because of that. Canadian society is lived mostly by social democracy. Republican MAGA and conservatism exist, but they are still low impact for now.

Glad you mentioned racism: Canada is a ewhite nation because it destroyed the original indigenous population and i am amongst those that believes its far too late to change now. We nearly succeeded. Starting to protect other colours now and accept immigrants of other colors is a mistake. It wont wash away the blood on our hands, all it will do is make us uncomfortable and make fights break out and eventually all out war and genocide all over again just like what happened everywhere else they tried this. I would've considered it 30 or 40 yrs ago, no way not now, most people are good but the USAs government does nothing but lie, no matter who's in power. I am a truck driver and spent 37 yrs driving across your country, i have watched american pride in the country slowly decline. In the late 1970s every 2nd house had a flag on it.

I suggest google’n “ school shootings, small town America”…. article after article, when you do, says why most mass school shootings tend to happen in small towns….where nobody expects that they would have happened & how all the residents in those towns are always surprised that they happened in their town. \nI say this as somebody who once loved the idea of moving to the USA. \nMy mom was a single parent and as a result I spent a ton of time as a very young kid in the late 80s throughout the mid 90s in a small town in Oregon on my aunt and uncles dairy farm with my cousins and I absolutely loved it. Truthfully, I still love small-town America and I love the vast majority of the people I have met from small-town America. There is the friendliness and community that I find very similar to prairie farming towns in Canada. \n And as a kid, I loved the focus on high school sports in the small USA town I spent time in and how it brought the community together. It was very exciting to go to my cousins football games—stuff like that was super fun as a kid.\nAs an adult, with 2 young kids of my own now? \nYes, I would be terrified to send my children to any school in the United States, especially knowing that the vast majority of my school shootings do happen in small towns, which is a type of place in the states I would personally like to go to, if I did move. \n\nAdditionally, I will be completely bankrupt at this point given my own health issues as well as my two kids health issues and I’m just in my late 30s. \nAnd I’m not talking to super crazy health issues, but health issues nonetheless. I have asthma that has gone through patches where I’ve had to be hospitalized & I was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma when I was in my late 20s and pregnant with my 2nd. My first child was born with a congenital heart disorder that was missed through the pregnancy and until she was two, and that involved many many trips to the hospital & various specialists until they figured out what was going on (one of the symptoms was her randomly stopping breathing and going blue, which was terrifying, and could’ve been for many different reasons & it took many specialists & many hospital visits to figure it all out)\nMy son was born with a multiple protein intolerance and later received an autism diagnosis. There a decent number of hospital visits and specialists for his first couple of years of life too. \n\n I have no idea if I was in the United States how I would’ve paid for any of our health issues (let alone all three of ours) for that 5 or 6 year period where we all needed various types of regular-ish medical care. \n(because we got good medical care, thankfully, none of us have really had to see doctors any more than the average person in the last few years?)\n\nMy kids are now in elementary school, and, as a Canadian, the issue of school shootings happening anywhere….., including in small towns that seem perfectly safe……as well as the cost of healthcare for stuff that is covered by our taxes here in Canada….. are the two biggest reasons that I will think fondly of my time in small-town America, but would never consider moving there

I'm British, now retired and living in Spain for 20 years. Have noticed that in the last 10 years there are an awful lot of Americans who are moving here mainly because, although they still have to have private health, it's hugely cheaper here and the service is good; also the lifestyle is more laid back and they can visit a lot of different cultures. In the late 1960s my husband and I emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Visited the US a couple of times. First to NY city, second time down to Kentucky /Tennessee. My parents came on that trip with us. Met Americans at the motels we stayed in and a couple of times my father nearly lost it (don't know how he just kept quiet) as Americans his age were quite abusive and kept on about about how we'd never be able to repay America for their help in WW2 (my father fought in that for all 6 years). Anyway left Canada after 4 years and returned to England; not because we didn't like it but I was terribly homesick. None of the Canadians we're still in touch with would ever have moved to the US.

I would happily move to the States. Especially with the way our government has been operating lately. Trudeau is the WORST leader this country has ever had, and he's just a step down from a dictator in my opinion.

Health care has probably been a top reason for a long time.. also mass shootings.. but lately.. we have anti abortion transphobic regressive types here as well.. but it feels like the odds of them getting into power broadly is pretty slim.

We'd thought about it. On balance, I think we're settled in Canada and late in life so that re-starting would not be practical but ... we'd thought and talked about it. The potential freedoms we feel like we're losing, here, now. (It's always complex ;-) )\n\nCanada's health care system/financing/administration is having problems too. We aren't subject, the same way, to individual medical bankruptcy but the system is VERY broken.\n\nWe've had shootings on the streets lately ... innocent bystanders being hit. \n\nCanada's a great (and imperfect) place. \n\nIt's not better or worse (IMO). It's different.

When money comes to you just now and humility will join you little late ..untill then you may get into these incidents because you are not alone you brought along your EGO.

I wondered why the country felt so much better lately. I now realize that it is because you and a few other bellyachers have departed. Thanks, you have done us all a favour. The population in Canada is now over 40 million and gowning so it appears that there are some people who don't agree with you. I wish you would have taken a few thousand of those people who are constantly sneaking across the border into Canada with you, as we could certainly do without them. As for health care, it isn't perfect here in Canada, but I would certainly prefer what is available here rather than being one of the 32 million Americans who can't afford medical coverage and, if they suffer a catastrophic medical problem, end up losing everything they own trying and pay the bills and end up living on the street.

I am descendant of Latinos, and I do not agree with this administration has caused. I met someone in a Walmart parking lot from Venezuela. He had been here in Atlanta for 10 days and didn’t know anyone. He told me he came to the US because Biden promised all Venezuelans asylum and therefore be legalized in the US. So I genuinely asked him how his country was, and he said that things were very difficult; not being able to afford basic things, so then I said “well, I’m sure that is the result of the presidents decisions, most precisely socialism/communism,” I thought he was going to agree and he said “no, our president and former president had good ideas and plans.” My point is that all of these people coming from Venezuelan are fleeing their country because of the negative situation that sadly is taking place in their country, however their mindsets have been corrupted by thinking they deserve to have “free” things. All of these ppl will be legalized and they will be able to vote very soon, so these ppl will vote democrat because they were given this opportunity by Biden. This is a very demonic man by the left, and sadly this will cause a lot negative results to the US. It’s too late to revert this, soon we will see the negative consequences of what this administration is causing to this country ?

We lost our republic in the 1870s and since then corporate America has controlled every aspect of our lives. We’ve lived under an elusive veil of freedom for over a century. As a child of a first generation immigrant, this is horrible and WRONG. My dad and his family fled Nicaragua in the late 80's when the socialists took over. And it was a real war zone. The government stole their land, homes, and k!lled people they knew. On the way to the airport my dad (who was a small child at the time) saw dead bodies in the street. Thankfully they made it to the USA and were able to rebuild their lives and become proud American citizens. They did it LEGALLY. It makes me so mad when I see footage like this.
