Here in the US, we are citizens and between me and my hub. we could not get a rental for around $2.000, working a 9-5 job (mon-Fri) because our income was insufficient to pay the rent for the year. How will an immigrant even make it here under these circumstances.

While that’s an insane amount to be behind and still living there, this wouldn’t happen as often if we fixed the damn housing crisis. Yes you will always have bad apples but I’m sure a lot of the people in similar situations are actually good people that are struggling to live and have got themselves into a bad situation. Not everyone has family to fall back on if they get evicted. I’m not saying that’s the case here either she could be a complete criminal taking advantage of the system but be easier to weed those people out if there wasn’t a housing crisis.

They could still take people in who are in immediate danger. I mean, sure he's gotta point, but looking at another similar situation in Ukraine where people HAD to leave like elderly people, women and children who weren't in a position to fight the invading Russians, Western nations took in millions of refugees. Idk if it works, but I have heard this trick the landlords use to evict squatters where you hire a furnishing company and make them remodel the house as disruptively as they could e.g. tearing down walls, tearing out floor tiles, etc. whilst the tennant is in there and if they complain, then say that you're trying to improve their living conditions. I don’t know the real-life logistics of this, I just heard it talked about.

So many people come and commit crimes, ignore our laws and live off the government. We needed certain skilled people and I could care less what country they come from as that immigration is crucial to our economy and population. Right now there isn't enough housing for our own citizens. It's irresponsible. If families want to sponsor an immigrant family that's awesome. The rest of us want our tax money actually going to our citizens. That's not racist, that's common sense.

Just like the USA once funded Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc. to hurt Russia. \nMeanwhile, Canada started using those criminals as a Vote bank. And what do these folks do? They form gangs, of course! Gangs need people, so they started inviting or smuggling people from India. Most of those people are just criminals or the lowest of the low. \nWhen those Khalisthani creating problem for India, Canada and the USA support them. \nDrugs, smuggling, trafficking, and violence are the only things these Khalisthani have learned. \nUntil USA, Canada stop supporting Khalisthani movement both Canda and India will suffer from these people.

Why do people say when people are crossing either from Mexico or Canada into America, but in reality is both countries are both in America. America is a continent the United States is a country but America is actually a continent. America has a bunch of countries. It has Canada, United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, and a few other American countries so why do people in the United States and the rest of the world call the United States America, but reality is when you say America you could be talking about any other country. My parents immiagrated here like 30 years ago and made sure to live in a community with different ethnic groups so they could adapt and learn english and assimilate. Back in 1998 I was laid off and waiting for U.I/E.I to kick in and send a cheque and was 2 months behind on rent, they had me in L/T Tribunal Court at St Clair/Yonge before my 1st cheque was mailed, I wasn't kicked out but had to agree to pay my full rent on the 1st from that point and $200 each month on the 15th til I caught up on arrears (took 1 year) if I had been late once on either date they could have re opened the L/T Tribunal case and kicked me out. If I couldn't have paid I would have moved out, that's the difference between those born before 1990 and after, morals and having a conscience, lacking in most Millennials and Z's because X mothers didn't want to discipline their 90s babies or make them responsible adults.

I've got behind on my rent in the past. \nI lived out my last month's rent. \nI'm sorry to the landlord I couldn't pay $2,400 in 2 months. \nBut I left so I gave them no further aggravation and problems so we could all move on. \nI put myself on the street and lost everything. \nEventually I got back on my feet got my own place. \nNot keeping these good landlords supporting me. \nI love this man he sounds like a good man good luck sir you're the kind of immigrants we need in this country to have full-time citizenship you work so hard to get where you are today❤

neighbor rented a house to a couple she was a teacher he was a nuclear power worker both good paying jobs they paid first and last and nothing more for 2 years he ended up paying them $10000.00 to move out so he could sell it before he lost it ....the LTB isnt on the landlords side this is why rentals are hard to find.....better off to use air band b or not rent at all

How on earth do you just live for 4 years in someone else’s house and not pay rent? This is unfathomable to me. I have a rental property and so far, so good. I had no idea this kind of thing could happen. It makes me angry enough just watching this to have the thought of meeting them in the lobby if this ever happened to me. The law is too unfair.

he could just force her out the door its very easy to do and change locks , and she cant get back in ! , If you rent it out , make them pay upfront 1 year rent , and before they move in , make sure the check goes through bamk first or ask for cash ....

I dont wanna be mean about this. Human life, regardless of who it it is special. But if a bunch of American ran into Mexico like this, if Iranians tried to plow into Iraq, someone would be shot at. This woman wouldn't do this if the police could remove her within a month for non payment of rent. The appeal process is completely unjust. Landlords own the property, paid for it, are responsible to care for it. They should not have to bear non-paying squatters occupying and often damaging their property.

We used to have a common sense approach by bringing in immigrants based on how many we could handle bringing into the housing market and healthcare, as well as getting high skilled workers. That approach is now gone because we are bringing in over a million immigrants under marc miller.

I was watching Flight Radar. I clicked on a Random flight coming to Toronto Pearson. It was Air India, It was supposed to land just across the lake in USA. It had been diverted. I wonder if it was diverted intentionally so all of them could stay in Canada? We build 200K homes a year, we bring in more than 500K people/year. U Can't get a job, all places are hiring newcomers cuz the Gov offers them subsidies to help pay their wages. Meanwhile, Canadians end up homeless.

I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Its not scapegoating immi-grants. We simply just cant build as fast as immigration is going on in the west. Even if we could build as fast, do we really want to become overpopulated countries with less nature?
