As a Vietnamese student who has spent 2 years in Canada, I don’t mean to insult, but Canada feels like hell comparing to my home country, from housing to food and groceries. As a tourist to Canada I noticed a big culture clash. While Canadians over use the word “sorry,” Indians did not think twice about jumping ahead of a line and pushing people away to make space for their own family — even before that family arrives. Indians have a great and ancient civilization, but that is not an excuse for disrespecting the Canadian one.

I am reading the comments and it seems like most people commenting didn’t actually take the time to listen to the interview. He is calling out the government out for political and reactionary changes based on sliding poll numbers as opposed to a coherent immigration policy. He specifically says that this government allowed certain sectors to get addicted to temporary foreign workers. These changes are political as this government is more concerned with political survival than the needs of Canada and Canadians.

Canada allows them to come over on a temporary visa to attend a college, and Indians seem to believe that entitles them to citizenship. IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!

I love my second gen immigrants Indians and they're parents the immigrated properly, not coming in as students and demand PR and don't want to leave. No houses. No jobs. These students smash cars, have 0 manners, throw garbage on streets, 20 in homes, increased crimes and total disrespect to citizens that have lived here for generations. Canada must repeat what it did in the 1930's and the 1940's. Canada needs to bring 5 million immigrants from Eastern Europe, like Poland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Macedonia etc. Just look at the Eastern Europeans in Canada, they and their Canadian born children and grandchildren have learned and speak the English language fluently. In Canada, people speak English and French. The British and the French values must be upheld. God save the King.

Canada is only 40 million people yet they have immigrated almost 25% of theyre population (7 million) in 2 decades. The problem magnifies when you realize all these immigrants stay in the main cities and the infrastructure isnt set up for this, and they dont move to other less populated areas. Its not anti immigrant sentiment, its anti immigration. we are fine with who we are as a demographic but even the newest immigrants realize this is hurting us in housing, jobs, economy, everything. The government has to step in and put a stop to it. The entire world is realizing we cant afford this, its hurting us not helping us.

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

Still not low enough. You shouldn't exist as a university in Canada if you cannot subsist by only serving Canadians. International students cannot be your primary business and then you still have the audacity to call yourself a Canadian educational institution.

Problem is, all other nationalities try to integrate to the Canadian culture. But Indians here, do just as they do in India. They don't make an effort and are entitled. They can leave back to their nation. Because we are not going to let Canada turn to India.

Not all Indians abuse the system but there are a lot that do. Canada needs to curb immigration. It's hard enough for our young people and everyone without the added strain of too much too soon.

I have a different experience myself completely. Moved to Canada in 2018 and things have been amazing.\nI can say the same is true for my friends who moved around the same time.

The Immigration Canada should have limit long time ago. The program are being misused. Too much immigrant and increasing crime rate also. The vetting process for those would be immigrants are flawed.

An international students has to pay 5 times more than a Canadian resident. However, no one is forcing those students to come to study in Canada. \nMost international students are here to easily come in to Canada and get residency. Why would a student need to work here?
