Ya it’s sad. I lived in downtown Toronto for 20 years and loved it! I left 3 years ago and moved to Mexico. I don’t agree w much of what is going on in Canada right now. My friends and family are all still in Canada so it was a difficult move but it’s no longer the Canada I know. Very sad for sure :(

Let alone buying a house, renting isn't also easy, the cheapest now for families is $1000.\nLet's say you make $20 per hour, this salary will never get you anywhere unless you're married or have other sources of income. You need a second job and the more you earn the more you're taxed.\nEven those high skilled people can only live comfortably only as working couple because as a single high skilled person even if you make more than $100k a year for you to live a good life here isn't easy. Yes of course, it's still better than the most african countries, but for those doing well in Africa already don't come here, come when you're hardly earning a living in Africa. \nNB: People who make $100k in Canada are less than 11% of the whole population. That's 4257000 million out of 38.7 canadians. The rest are considered low income generating workers who hardly afford things.

2 months is a really short time to give judgement on a country. You have to give yourself a year to adjust. You are lucky you went when your kids are big and can do everything on their own. We migrated to Australia 20 years back when our son was 1 my younger two kids were born here it was a struggle then but it was all worth it. I love India it is the place of my birth but Australia is home. I am sure many Indians living abroad feel the same.

If people could just be watching news not just CNN or aljazeera but different global news network as a Kenyan especially on what's going on globally economically wise, disaster wise, pandemic wise meaning COVID-19 wasn't the last one there's another pandemic coming worse than COVID-19 so before you think of relocation think twice or you end up homeless in a foreign country after another lockdown,wars wise, climate change, then you'll not even think of leaving out of Kenya. I once watched a certain documentary last year that's it was about global inflation by few global economy analysts and they said that this global inflation that we are witnessing will go on for over 20 years. So that was their analysis but as you watch the news on what's happening in the world then people should just embrace inflation koz it's here to stay. People should just stop traveling through quack agents but do proper research and travel the safest way.

I lived in Toronto for over 30 years. Prices on everything are soaring and really getting out of control. Rent, mortgage, food, insurance, and constant high-interest rates would force people onto the streets. Canada needs to do something now! Many restaurants have prices increased by over 20-30% on their menus in the past 3 years. It's just madness and ridiculous. What is minimum wage going to do? Most people I know just work work work, and do not have time to enjoy life. Very sad.

I’m a Calgarian and just visited Toronto the second time in 20 years in July and let me tell you it is an amazing city to visit but not for living. \nIt’s an expensive and stressful city to live in. \nThe thing gets me the most is the traffic. It’s busy any day of the week, day or night. \nI also feel that it’s not a good city for a young family. Too costly and stressful.

Sadly, you have essentially described Vancouver as well. The elephant in the room is immigration. When you count refugees, immigrants, international students, etc. there are about 1 million people coming to the country annually! Even in the 1990s, CSIS even warned the government that high immigration would lead to a housing crisis. And that’s really sad as immigration has now tuned into a net negative for Canada. I personally think it is an invasion at this point. And things are far worse than the 1990s. Honestly, if I wasn’t settled in a place I bought near Vancouver 20 years ago, my family and I would have to seriously make other plans!

This is vastly missing the point that for every legal immigrant to the US it has 20 illegal immigrants. That too is a choice and maybe a bad one but it needs to be discussed.

I watched a similar video some time ago but it was a lady and she made the comparison and she left Australia to Canada, after nearly more than 20 minutes, she states that she could not get the permanent residency in Australia and applied to Canada and got it, so after wasting more than 20 minutes listening to her, she decided to leave Australia to Canada, what a dumb stupid person. Moving blind ... I went to canada over 20 times in a course of several years. The key to make it in canada is to have the correct paper work. When i was ready to move to canada i got an immigration lawyer. I had funds and was willing to move. Lets say i didnt and ended up in europe. I lived in upbeat quiet neighbourhood behind Palace de congress in Montreal for 20 years. I took pride of the community for its gardening, architecture, friendly neighbours. Ever since a homeless shelter took place in the previously YMCA, drug addicts at every corner, garbage littered everywhere, air smells urine, people getting harassed, crimes skyrocketed, car windows smashed on a regular basis, shops closed, and I moved out. Homeless already got free foods, free shelter, free transport, free dental, free lawyer, free education (if they choose to)

Lynn I am a Kenyan living and working in BC.The problem is that Kenyans have left their fate in the hands of agents. Most of the guys on the streets are here on visitor visas. The agents told them they can convert their visitor visas to work permits. True! But they dont tell them how hard it is to do it! (Harder than rocket science hahahaha)You must get a job with an LMIA(this document proves to the government that the employer has not been able to get a Canadian or permanent resident to do the job thats why they want to hire a foreigner) most of these guys don't even have enough money to survive for a month bcoz 'they will get jobs and convert their visas to work permits' \nLike that Indian guy said you need a skill. I am from the carribean living in canada since I was 20 now 50 still living in canada just doing the job I love babysitting even if I have a medical deplome in health care and able to work with the Government. You cam make it if you're money smart but the best thing to do first is to invest in your own country first because the trap is if you invest in the country you move to you will be working and paying bills for ever. The skill and luck is what makes it like me. Plus stay as long with roommates until you save enough money to invest in your country.

It’ll get much worse without major action, the market will not correct itself. The market is functioning just as it was intended, short-term wealth for the few, long-term ramifications for people not even born yet.

I've lived in Toronto for almost 20 years, and I can't wait to get out. The plan is to move somewhere else in the spring, just figuring out where. Toronto now breaks my heart-- you see people seriously struggling everywhere, and it's hard to see it in contrast with the opulent wealth that much of the city has. We're lucky to be in a rent-controlled apartment and we've been here for over a decade, and there's no way we'd find anything even remotely similar here now (the apartment we live in would go up at least $1000 if we leave). The safety is also an issue- I live in a fairly busy area that used to be extremely safe (I used to walk home alone at midnight in high school) and now I rarely leave my apartment after dark. There's very angry, erratic people, many on substances, and I've had some rough encounters already. And don't get me started on public transport.... My sister saw someone almost get randomly pushed into the subway tracks yesterday, and obviously that doesn't get reported. It's worse than people think, and it's only gonna get more horrible once winter hits.

Iam from New York... do not live there anymore...but when I lived there. .The financial sector has been buying apartments for more than 20 years. I think that is one of the reasons. As their is another reason that I will not mention because it will look that I am racists.. but as well you can make double or triple the wage in N.Y.C .
