You want to move to any country, do it the right way and life will be good. Do you think Canadians or Americans can move illegally to his country El Salvador and work and live there. Canadian immigration sucks. There is no control. I came as an immigrant and I witnessed many heart wrenching situations. Ghost immigrants and non resident Canadian citizens living in India, Dubai, Russia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Turkey, HongKong etc. They barely lived in Canada, yet they have same rights like us, take child support subsidies, welfare, CPP, Old Age while we bust our a....s in the cold to pay taxes and build the Canadian system. Wake up.

Shoppers Drug Mart employees are the absolute worst in my experience for racial profiling. They opened a new store so had hardly any customers, I was shopping for painkillers where there are numerous drug types, brands, strengths (mg), styles (capsules, gel cap, tablets), amounts and prices - all in small writing which takes quite a bit of time to disseminate and decide upon especially when your eyesight is poor as mine is. After a while I looked up and noticed a security guard standing in the aisle watching me. I was shocked and confronted him, asking if he was watching me, to which he quickly denied and left. Was so disturbed I quickly left the store without buying anything and refused to return to that location. Another time I was shopping for an eyebrow pencil where the colour name was printed again in small letters so was spending time to find the one I wanted amongst all the different browns. After I had chosen and started to walk past their counter, their staff member stood with her arms folded shaking her head. This was very alarming as I had shopped in that store since it had opened! So after effectively being accused of shoplifting a $3 eyebrow pencil for no reason other than being black, at the cash line, a white guy sprints out the door carrying a $50 box of diapers! Whatever they are selling at Shoppers or anywhere else is not worth my freedom. They have no right to profile me when it is never going to be me stealing. There are many, many black people who just do not do those kinds of things. We are not all criminals. I have worked in lots of stores and the majority of people stealing are the majority of people in Canada - the white people. Stop living on stereotypes, Shoppers Drug Mart and don't pooh-pooh people's experiences when they call and complain!

I’ve lived on both sides of the border (New York and Ottawa/Gatineau). I am white. And I’ve been pulled over on both sides wile I was driving and wile a black person was driving. I’ve seen scary difference between the interactions with the police. Though the US cops are a little more harsh to the black people the Canadians ones weren’t much better. If you deny that is happening in Canada your wrong. If you deny it’s happening in the US your wrong. It happens no matter what side of that imaginary line on. Be the change you wanna see. If your white use your privilege to promote change. And for everyone, go to protest (safety there is still a pandemic going on), sign petitions, vote and get involved with government. Both sides of the border have the chance to make things right, act now!

To me, a democratic society is an equal and just society for each and every citizen. Freedom is where every citizen has all their civil rights in that democratic society. This means we should be valued and treated equally under every circumstance.\n\nI'm a Canadian and I can see we are not doing that by over-policing black and indigenous communities, by denying indigenous communities the ability to participate in Canadian society with their own culture in tact and by our biases about people with other ethnicities, like Asians and East and West Indians.\n\nWe may not be bad as the US, but we are still doing these things. It needs to be addressed and rectified if we ever want to be a truly self-aware, equal and just democratic society for every citizen.\n\nRegardless of the political party we support, I can't fathom why every citizen would not want an equal and just democratic society for themselves and their fellow citizens, as it improves everyone's lives.

I thought once about immigration to Canada although my economic situation didn’t incentivize me to immigrate. I found myself in a qualified position to immigrate. But when I consulted my wife, she opposed my plan and she’s absolutely right. We’re a middle class family. We have wonderful jobs. Live in our own home and run a small enterprise. Why should we immigrate and start building a new life in a country where the cost of living is insane?!

Who are blaming for racial profiling, Canadian people? Maybe these racialized groups have showen more trouble in all areas of lives like higher unemployement rate, drug use, criminality, slums... I think subtle racism is actually a very practical type of stereotyping and it didn't just got created out of air, there is a big chunk of that specific race (be it any race according to the stereotype) who actually prove the stereotype to be right. I am from india, living in Canada and if some house owner would prefer a white guy over me to rent their house, I would not blame him since a lot of people don't like the smell of spices that we cook all the time.\n\nAs far as stereotyping is sublet and not rude or hurting, I don't think it's actually so much of racism rather then preference.\n\nI just want to make it clear though that I do support racism, whatever is happening in US and a lot of other countries which is violent is a very horrible thing. My parents live in Ontario and they’re Muslim. My Mom doesn’t wear either head scarf or a face covering, however she does wear it while praying at home or at the mosque.\n\nWhy I left Islam is a very long story. It didn’t seem right how after 9/11 Muslims around the world were celebrating, including my uncles and cousins back home. I came to Christ in 2010 and I’m so blessed to be saved by grace. I experienced it myself when I told a Muslim man I no longer practiced Islam, and that I’m a believer in Christ. He was furious! I told her I wasn’t gonna deny Jesus. She worries about me but I told her, I know my destiny for a fact. I had a personal encounter with Jesus and there’s no way I can deny Him. My only prayer is my family will know Christ and one day we will be in heaven together. I’m looking forward to that day. I honestly don’t want to be here in this awful, world where there is so much hate. I want to be with my Savior soon. I don’t even care if I’m killed by a Jihadi. Harper was right. Muslims that cover their faces, are obviously leaning to the radical right. Muslims previously came here to get away from the conservative, fundamental, radical doctrine of their Islamic countries they came from. They wanted to return to the western lifestyle they had in the 60s, 70, educated and enjoying freedom. Now since Trudeau, more and more coming in, don't want to become a Canadian and live as a Westerner. This separates people from other faiths, in engaging in conversation with someone, that clearly wants nothing to do with her Western neighbor, bus driver, teacher, etc. These people that wear this attire are radicals, or just one of the sheep of the radicals.

I'm muslim but i dont like the arabs muslim (not all arabs but mostly of them) becuz of the way they behave. I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

They are not immigrants, they are just buying a insurance policy illegally of course. In there birth country's female Muslim not allow to face to face infront men or do anything without Muslim rules restricted.. which country's better life lady.....western treated very one the same, doesn't matter what you are & where you come from. Free to chose your Religions. That your choose your cultural Islamic / Muslim. But do not Fanatics... positive & negative which one you chose....? Good ways brighter directions...... stand up for rights
