A lot of this has to do with the notion that a degree from a foreign university is a guaranteed way to great life. Many students do get to better places with a foreign degree but not all at this level of competition. I being an Indian am ashamed that Indians are doing this to younger aspiring Indians. There's so many negatives to Canada's system and its obvious Canada's insane increase in immigration is only lowering wages, increasing housing prices, importing ethnic tensions and propping up minimum wage jobs. Canada's TFW and foreign student programs don't follow our scoring system. And they're complete scams. Indians come here to study at DeVry college at a strip mall while working full time at Tim Hortons living 6 people to an apartment and they eventually get permanent residency. Canada has a rapidly declining quality of living.

Not entirely accurate. It's pro-wealthy immigration here in Canada absolutely. It's citizenship for sale. Not necessarily wealthy in terms of really wealthy (like Switzerland) but it's definitely citizenship for sale, so if you don't have money, don't bother. Newcomers with medical and engineering expertise can't get jobs here in Canada, in spite of our healthcare system being on the point of collapse and our supposed hi-tech push. Regulatory boards here have made it impossible. Estimates are around 175000 qualified, internationally trained doctors and nurses who gave up trying to practice here and moved into other careers. Ukrainian doctors, for eg, with extensive trauma experience and willing to staff our emergency departments have been told they have to requalify by going to Canadian medical school to retrain for at least 4 years. Same story in engineering. By IT, our government seems to mean low-paid call center IT work, moving the IT sweatshop racket from India onto Canadian soil. If you can afford to buy a business - I believe the total business investment was 500 000 pre-pandemic - that's another way in. Not sure if thats gone up now. So many of our franchise businesses are essentially being used as citizenship tickets. The big ticket item: If you can afford 4 years of postgraduate or undergrad university program, or 3 to 4 year college program - and if you don't have the cash, loan sharks in India will distribute debt across the whole family for decades so one student can go . There us a very good documentary by an Indian filmmaker on the Canadian college/University recruitment drive in India and its consequences. Several of our colleges have student enrollments at over 70% of the entire student body, direct entry from India. Additional problems like grade inflation, different education standards, and outright fraud on ESL testing also mean that Indian students are not well prepared for school here. Many do not have enough English to succeed in their studies. They either need to spend for additional tutoring, take a qualifying year or two ESL (on top of the 3 or 4 program), or fail courses. Universities and colleges keep the tuition though. Honestly our colleges and universities are staying afloat because of Indian students. They're being treated like cash cows - and Indian recruiters are scamming the system, taking fees on their end with unsuspecting students getting falsified documents, or being told they passed their ESL when they didn't. It's a national disgrace. I'm a prof here, I've seen all of this firsthand. Your data may be correct, but the narrative you've constructed for it is not the real picture.

I too wanted to go abroad to study but when I came to knw that Indian students overthere work as cheap labourers I quit that idea of going abroad to study n decided to stay in India n study in Indian college n today I'm well established in L&T construction as civil engineer earning salary in 6 digits.\n\nI love my india n request all fellow Indians to stay in India rather than living miserable life in foreign countries

the way you paint Canada at the end is very untrue - refugees are treated horribly here. when we took in the people from Syria they were put in homeless shelters and weren't given food or proper clothing (it was winter and -30c out). as of typing this there are camps/tents set up in the streets of downtown toronto for refugees we just brought in that have no where to go. we brought them here in a hopes of a better life and made them apart of the ever growing homeless population. we also just deported over 700 Indian students who came to Canada under fraudulent circumstances. maybe if you are rich life is different (thats really all you cover) but if you are an International student or a refugee this is not the place to be - we take in so many International students because they have to pay 3x to 4x more than someone born here. do more research into your videos please this and the other comment i left are all breaking or top stories in canada not hard to learn and could of added so much to this topic instead of painting canada in a near utopian image

Just because America is doing it wrong, doesn’t mean we’re doing it right. \n\n1) Canada (we) are accepting immigrants because of a wider tax base (increasing older population) and projections for where we need people. The key word is projections and it clearly is not showing well; just read today’s Globe and Mail. \n\n2) There are 500-600 applicants per job in tech, and we are going through massive layoffs. We will never have the tech sector of London or SF because we are more conservative and smaller in population. \n\n3) Housing has become INSANE as you mention. US,UK,Aus,Ireland,NZ are better countries...USA is the best option ..It has mechanisms to weed out fraudulent colleges and education agents. and agencies.....USA has various avenues for income but petty Canada has only one source of income..fleecing Indian students and probably selling maple jam bottles

Because it's Practical & Really works...rather than taking student life seriously. Indian parents even today are too serious about Formal Education. The Indian student protesting their deportation because they entered Canada with fraudulent documents, and caliming it is their right to stay now that they have been here for years. Finally the truth about this ruthless business of making money off poor kids who are sold a dream of good life and send to live a life which is actually a nightmares. I was a student in Canada and seen this first hand. Students packed in rooms and colleges cancelling semesters for new students. This is all true. Even the best colleges do that. Every Indian who wants to go to Canada take this as a warning plz. this makes me sick. i was born in canada but luckily i have european background and i could go there.....i used to rent rooms to Indian students in Ontario - only charged them $300 a room to each student, only had a set of twins share a room.....as a child of immigrants i have a soft spot for these students...and to see this video makes me literally cry. it's sad, disgusting...\n\nthanks trudeau for exploiting MORE POOR.... Lots of killed expats/migrants/international students to Canada, Australia and NZ leave in the long term because of housing, fake crime statistics, taxation, systemic/institutional discrimination and limited work opportunities. The US benefits from this because that’s where skilled Canadians, kiwis and Aussies go… nurses, technology specialists, structural engineers, biomedical technicians, researchers — all leave at some point barring a minority with family ties e.g., chronically sick parents. Interestingly enough, the US has country-specific skilled employment visas for Australia (E3) & Canada just for this purpose ? I’m an Indian-South African-Aussie citizen who earns excellent cash in Australia and just got PR (green card) in the US — happily moving to the States with my partner in a few weeks!

I lived in India because my parents did not have the money to send me abroad. I am supposed to travel to Canada in another 5days with a work permit offered from my current employer in India with a salary which is above average in Canada. As an experienced professional worked in Indian IT market for more than 7 years, I want the Indian students to know that if you are planning to work in core subjects like mechanical, civil, electrical or electronics, only then you should consider this difficult option. Otherwise in India, there is a massive shortage in the IT & Software market. With 5+ years of experience, with right skill you can earn 30-40LPA easily. So be careful before putting your life & your parents' only means of survival at risk.
