Illegals are not welcome, and one of the basic requirements of a country is to protect it borders. My wife and my son-in-law are immigrants..... legal. They have earned educations and professions, the contribute to the tax base and society, and they appreciate what they have earned. Immigration is a cenetrpiece of this country, when done right. If Canada wants the illegals, I'm sure the US will be happy to deliver them. But I believe most Canadians don't, and we are only hearing a few airheaded corner cases, similar to what is being deleted from our national consciousness right now.

Oh I love this. Go Trump Go! Maybe once you're done, you can come to Canada and clean out our swamps of fake 'asylum seekers' too. We all know that Selfie Boy only keeps them coming in for votes anyway. Once many of them come to Canada, they are no longer asylum seekers, but moochers/leeches/parasites. If they are coming in by Rodham Road, Quebec from the USA, how did they get in the USA in the first place. They had to have documentations, but amazingly, they have none coming into Canada? An asylum seeker comes into a safe country, and that's it, not entering a 2nd country, from the USA, which is in itself a safe country. Also, amazing, how many disposable cell phones were in the ditch before entering Canada by an unauthorized entry point. This is slapping the true immigrants and true asylum seekers coming in the correct way into Canada. But unfortunately, Selfie Boy doesn't see it that way.

It's the overshadowing attitude: things were very difficult for me so they should be difficult for you too. This idea is unfortunately prevalent for a sector of our population. I'd like things to become easier overall. Life shouldn't be a constant struggle. I do believe doing an illegal thing (like crossing the border) make a person a criminal though. Immigration should be done legally but the process shouldn't be insurmountable without money or connections. The opportunity should be equal. ?

Reduce cost by passing legislation. It will still cost some money but it has to be done

No illegal immigration, done, simple, we should follow suit and deport illegals. There are enough people following the rules and jumping through the hoops to come to Canada legally.

It's time for Canada to wall off the border, our health system is backed up, funding is lacking, jobs are scarce even if you want to work, our youth cannot find the jobs they seek; we've done our part and let enough in already. This is idiotic, Undocumented Immigrants paid $96 million in taxes in 2022. 50% of our agriculture workers are undocumented immigrants. Who is going to replace that workforce? Something needs to be done but this is not it. They have no plan to collect and hold the immigrants. Local Police and Sheriff departments are not equipped to nor allowed to (in some states)go chase illegals. Similar bills have been attempted before as an effort to have Police arrest illegals but it was messy and got put on hold for several reasons. No discussion of potential civil rights violations or the question of it being unconstitutional also opens the door for racial profiling. Any person of color would targeted. Most of the immigrants are not from Mexico why would any country accept them? This is the dumbest plan for immigration ever and it won't work.

If there are 16,000,000 illegals in the country, Each Police person would have to stop whatever they are doing and, on average, capture 20 illegals... Given that each of these captured people are entitled to plead their case before a judge, How many people will actually be deported before Trump exits??? You cannot have homeless Americans while illegal immigrants are being put up in hotels. \nThe real question is, does the USA need more unskilled people, whose primary contribution is manual labor? More and more jobs are going to be lost to AI/Robotics. Think of the scenario where you will have vast swathes of the population unemployed or underemployed. Is that desirable? Think of the chaos that will cause. More doctors and scientists are always welcome to immigrate anytime, and such folks all do so legally. \nThere are enough people already in America to do what needs to be done. We need to first build infrastructure using existing citizens to enable the next wave of immigrants (several years later) to move here. You just cannot have more and more people put more pressure on an already crumbling and ageing infrastructure, driving up rents for low-income Americans.

Yes the immigrants must GO. They are illegal, some are criminal immigrants and they are killing Americans. The immigrants are draining our resources while Americans or having to do without. We have LAWS on immigration and they MUST be followed. NO exceptions! Our economy is terrible and people are struggling to buy groceries or get Meds.
