If you make money online there is no reason to remain in Canada and pay so much tax when you receive almost nothing in exchange. There are countries like Panama where you pay zero tax from income made abroad. Panama does not have the luxuries that Canada offer, It is still a third world country. But your rent is much less and you don't pay tax.

A very comfortable and secure life. \n Tropical…so no heating bills…and no snow to shovel. \n Cambodia is also central to the area……easy bus trips to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam when you want to visit those places. Well, I am leaving, yes. Although I am very grateful with Germany, I work in IT, and I don't hold a diploma, but I have more than 20 years of experience in the field, I always been offered jobs beneath my experience, only because of a paper. I am Italian and was very enthusiastic when I arrive 4 years ago, but the way I was treated was mostly bad, that led me not wanting to study the language anymore, people were so agressive in the streets. When I needed the back of the justice, it was never on my favour, even when I was right, as I was hit in the street by a stranger who made my face bleed, police said that it was nothing and that it was the opposite, even when they had evidence. I was mistreated at a hospital in Schwabing, München and medical attention was refused, police didn't help and they requested my to litereally scream for help, and I did because I was bleeding on a place I didn't know, with -4 degrees, without any jacket. I even tried with the discrimination line, which doesn't work, and if you write them an Email, they will say they cannot help. I Will never understand that level of cruelty, not to mention 5000 Euros I had to pay for a ticket, because I suppousedly scratch the car of a person and because my Kaution was never returned, tried, but never got a lawyer, because you need to pay for the air you breathe in this country. ARD, what is that? You pay for the right of internet, and you pay internet as well, the desorganization with the states is massive, and often times, you will get a letter in your box post having to pay somehting else. My energy and money was completely drained. I just had it. Despite of everything, this country tought me great things, like discpline and hard work which I really appreciate and will take this knowledge...somewhere else. I also became better human being as a result of being exposed to all of the bad things. But I am isolated case, not everyone goes through these things, I did, and to me it was more than enough to wanting to Auf Wiedersehen. Unfortunaly Germany prefers to keep people who did not come to the country to add something, crazy as it seems, they would allow more people who rape, do not respect their culture and commit other crimes, instead of really welcoming people who came here to have a better life. Germany is currently too focused on other countries problems and failed on attending the needs of their citizens and the citizens who came to live here, including europeans, as myself. I truly believe that Germany is a beautiful country, München is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen, and has astonishing landscapes and vibrant nature. But...

I am asian guy. It's been 32 years in Canada and I never had a girlfriend in Canada ?. Now I gave up meeting someone in Canada. Feeling lonely though at times, but I think Canada is still a good country to live. Definitely more opportunities here than places like Argentina, South Korea, etc. I go to Walmart to save money on groceries. We just left Canada 2 weeks ago. Now we’re in the US. Canada has gotten worse for the last few years or decades according to some. When we applied for Canada, all the prosperity was promising. It was like second or third option behind the US and UK. And now, after 7 years, we have decided to really act and do what’s best for our family and the future of our kids. The main reasons why we left Canada, it’s the high and doubled taxes, the very slow healthcare, you get to start to zero despite your decades of managerial experience, they don’t honor your diploma cuz they have their own standard even if your education or work is US standard, the housing and rentals are skyrocketing. Imagine if the rentals are increasing every year by $50-150 is insane. It’s just so inhumane. Back in my birth country in the Philippines, if you’re poor or low income family..the government don’t tax you. You get a high percentage of healthcare assistance and you also get some free social services including monthly allowance from the national government and another separate assistance from the local government. Canada is beautiful if you have money with all the good and kind people around, but the expenses, it’s gonna kill your pocket.

Then we have US and British corporations using countries like Canada and Australia as cheap mine sites. Finally, we have the property Ponzi scheme which keeps housing out of the reach of young people. In both Canada and Australia, the birth rate has fallen because young people cannot afford to have kids. Both countries maintain their population level via immigration but that con is now falling apart because migrants can see that the game is rigged. Canada and Australia both produce a huge amount of wealth but it doesn't flow to young folks. Old folks who have fat investment portfolios don't want to rock the boat but, by their inaction, they're throwing their country's future under the bus. It's no mystery as to where this path leads. Just take a look at the catastrophically low birth rate in South Korea. Look at Italy with its falling population.

It’s ok to explore the world. People are going people are coming. I personally moved to the U.S. I’m working hard as a truck driver and saving money. Every six months I’m traveling the world. Of course Thailand is my favorite at this point. I’d like to experience life in the Philippines because many Americans are retiring there.

I'm experiencing something similar, I wanted to travel when I was younger and even did tourism at university but never ended up having the means to do it and family dependent on me financially. That's changed in the last year but I then came to a realisation when looking at buying a home, why buy here when I can emigrate like I used to think about? Even if I didn't like it in the end it would be a working holiday, and I'd have more opportunity to travel as well. Saving some more money up then applying next year, think I'd regret not doing it.

I am sorry to hear this. I am in the same boat. I moved here around 37 years ago and found this country much better compared to my old country, especially when the army killed students. I decided to stay in Calgary, Canada. What makes me sad is seeing Canada going down the drain. While seeing everything getting worse, my old country becomes a prosperous, advanced and powerful country. My classmates back there were mostly high-level leaders, and some of them became elites. As the best student in the class, I could not get position even close to theirs. Only good thing is that I have been making a lot of money due to my strong technical knowledge and the capability to do difficult work. I hope I can at least maintain the same living standard when i am old, but it looks less and less certain. If I realized this at your age, I would have moved back.

Hi! I'm an American with the 'dream' of immigrating to Canada for many years. Got permanent residency and am working in Montreal for the summer to try it out and.... really shocked about the high taxes vs. the quality of the roads for example :/ What social benefits are Canadians really getting? Although the pace of life and culture is nice, it is hard to make less money here as a teacher than I could be in the US, and with some bullsh*t to put up with (pardon my language). And although I feel safe here, I can't believe how car thefts are so brazen and common. I might just become a seasonal visitor after all.
