The lack of empathy in this chat is so toxic, and really makes me sad about “The American Way”. Why is it freedom and our duty to save people in other countries when it comes to participating in a war, but when the mothers and children come knocking at our door. My father moved to Canada as a five-year-old shortly after WW2… shortly after that, when he was 12, he moved to the US with my grandparents to make more $$.. shortly after that, Vietnam broke out and believe it or not people in the country on work visas, children got drafted…so my father went to beautiful British Columbia where I was born.. and thank God my dad disobeyed American orders or I wouldn’t exist…☝????

Also our country lost over one million innocent men,women, children and infants because Trump REFUSED to acknowledge COVID. Care to speculate how many of them were republicans thinking how could I of believed him??? One father stated after burying his wife who died from it said this. We believed him then my wife of fifty years contracted it and died quickly and our kids who like us who believed him were told had this been taken seriously in the beginning it would of never become this severe. It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Send the liberals to their countries so they can fight actual fascism and make those countries a eutopia for them. But no, liberals rather stay here and destroy this country and make it into one of those hellholes these people are fleeing from.

Man, I really do love everyone who is currently in office for our government at the moment. I just love letting any & everyone into our country, not to mention the cost of groceries & gas is amazing too! I absolutely love paying almost $7.00 just for a gallon of milk. My parents came to this country in the 70s from a small country in SAmerica. they brought me 3 years later and my handicap brother 2 years later. The USA embassy made my parents sign a paper stating that my brother will not used any government assistance ( he had polio when he was little so he has to walk with scratches) and that's what my parents did until my brother got a job. He worked for 40 years in the same job until he retired 6 years ago. With the exception of the mass rehab center for job training, my brother never used government assistance. \nI remember my mother and I we used to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning to shovel the snow from the driveway so it would be safe for him to walk to his car to go to work at 5 am. I am very proud of my brother. \nSome people think that receiving government assistance is smart, but we think is not bc it makes you a dependent, you loose your sovereignty as an individual. And these people don't realize that. Personally I think these people are getting paid to do this bc this is not normal. \nIn the other hand, the USA government in the quest to protect its interests ( mainly the corporate interests) support candidates that will go along with what the US says. \nI would like to point out that in this country, there's plenty of corruption, do u do anything about it? ! Jan 6 is the only time that I see it happening ( for me, Jan 6 will forever be a very important holiday)

I think the powerful countries should make plan and attack all dictatorship countries and take the leaders down and let people take the power and choose their own leaders and give them few years to pay the cost.

it's ok 85% of them just continue on to Canada. Both out countries are drowning FAST... Today Ontario alone announced plans to set into action to build 1.8 BILLION new homes. Who can afford to live in them because anyone living here CANNOT. Average rent for a Average house is 3500.00 per month plus water, gas, and hydro. To buy they want 20% down and Average price is 1million for a starter home. \nWorld wide we have a MAJOR issue we ALL have to get rid of the evilness with in and make the world rigorous and good again. As an immigrant from Europe who came to the US legally, I'm very appalled that people have such low moral values that even when they're told no, they still come here illegally. I moved here because I like traveling, I come from a former communist country. However my country wasn't always safe, we had to fight for decades to make it safe. None of these immigrants care enough about their countires to make it safe for future generations, instead they leave. Remember, you're not an asylum seeker. An asylum seeker goes to the nearest country that's safer, the US and Canada are usually not that close.

We need to kick all the illegal immigrants in the country out if they don’t wanna come here the right way and they can’t be here it’s not fair to the rest of the world. Did they get to sneak in and then we make other people that don’t share a border with us come here legally.

Love these people. I spent a lot of time living on or near the border, I really think the US would benefit from these people coming into the country. (Most of them, maybe not all of them). We just need to do it the right way, and make it a bit easier to do it the right way.

It makes me happy to see all the comments of legal immigrants to the US who are angered by this. Personally I have no issues with legal immigration from any country and I respect it and I'll break bread with you cuz your an American now like me. I think legal immigrants are a breath of fresh air and we can have some support coming from the Hispanic community against illegal immigration. Sm people think if your hard on illegal immigration your racist against Hispanics but that's not it at all. We need more legal immigrants with this mindset to help diversify the republican party and help to stop democrats from labeling it as a racist party. Now adays so many people aren't republican solely because they aren't white and think the democratic party is more favorable to anyone of color. My parents came illegally but became citizens thru the amnesty from Bill Epstein i mean Clinton, i was born here in California, even though i love my Mexican heritage i still think this is wrong, we need more border control but we also need to be able to make it easier for the good people to come here legally. Shame here in the UK they just give all the illegal immigrants 5 star hotels to relax in then make us tax payer pay the bill of it all. I’m American and Canada ?? is awesome I love the people. Some of the best people I ever met. Strangers paying for my food all type of stuff. Shout out to all Canadians. I wanted to move there it’s just too cold, I’m from Michigan. That Canadian weather hits different ?. But it’s somewhat strange to me that America and Canada open there borders like that.
