i see so much hate against indians on this channel, country founded by immigrants is now afraid of immigrants coming after them, remember english and french population came from france and britain are not natives to canada.

Duh it’s because too many people are coming in for the supply of housing. Our quality of life is tanking as a direct result of too much immigration.

If Canadians think new govt will solve the problem. They are dead wrong. This is the vicious cycle they can not get out. Their own structure can not support pensions and salaries. They need to bring in new immigrants otherwise the system cycle will collapse. As far as housing is concern. Does Canada have shortage of land ? Its due to policies that new housing is not coming up thus driving prices through the roof. Thus ordinary young Canadians are feeling the music and they see new students as the enemy. In fact it is the students who go through horrible exploitation ordinary Canadians cannot imagine. Canadians economy is an artificial economy based AND ITS BUBBLE WILL GO POP IF IT STOPS IMMIGRATION. Harsh reality and see if Mr Poilievre gonna change that ??. They are all the same bunch of liars like Trudeau. Don't forget Trudeau was charming prince ones. They all change with Realities.

I am from India living in India. I think Canada shouldn't replace native population with mindless immigration. We in India are also having similar issues due to illegal immigrants coming from Bangladesh and Pakistan :(

This is disgusting to listen to. No country on Earth wants millions of immigrants flooding in getting welfare to the moon and being a statistic of crime cause by these immigrants. No one wants that. Where did it come from? Why is it happening now of all times? What are these people being told? Canadians themselves are to be blamed. If you want free healthcare and handouts, then the government must raise revenues, and those revenues come from immigration. If you do not want problems then do not create problems. Get rid of free healthcare and cut those government welfare programs.

I find it really funny that these people claim that housing is such a big problem and instead of suggesting that they should build more housing (which should really be the first thing that comes to mind), they blame the immigrants.

7:35-8:00 its both the lack of a national housing strategy and the flood of immigrants that are the cause of the problem with all the cheap labor coming in from India Wages are being suppressed and the lack of federally funded geared to income housing makes the situation untenable. How can people afford 3k+ a month rent when most unskilled jobs barely pay 2k. first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!

Back then my parents needed to prove and bring certain assets as part of the requirements. \n\nNow it seems they don’t really care, just come in with nothing, and the first thing to figure out is how to get the gov to pay out to sustain.\n\nHow this change came about… got no idea. \n\nAnd when looking at it culturally, that has changed as well. Being Chinese, we brought along our traditions. Those were celebrated and introduced to other Canadians, and it was a joyous thing. That being said, Canadian culture should come first and foremost. That should be understood. You are living underneath someone else’s roof, you should learn their culture and accept it. If not, why are you there.\n\nNowadays, it feels like it is a right to alter, and place your original culture above that of Canada’s. That’s just weird. Why did you move there in the first place if you can’t accept and get along with everyone else there.\n\nI decided to move back to Hong Kong because I didn’t like it, and for people that feel the same, get out of there. People that want to stay in Canada should be contributing, and live like a Canadian.\n\nProud to be Canadian, but it feels different now. Only hear crimes and homelessness, drugs… gun violence. This is nothing new Asians and Hindus have been coming to and from Canada to U.S legally or illegally since the 70's and 80's if they are in Canada as tourists, students or become residents and citizens but always u.s in mind and they just move to the US if they are just asylum seekers or illegals they just walk into the US. this is the Canadians plan, not just accept immigrants but just send them to the US to destroy the US, and with Biden and the Harris administration they are everywhere now, do you blame the migrants and why would you ?. blame yourself, you elected Biden and Harris.... lmfao

Why did we keep quiet for the past 2 decades when our government was not increasing incomes, didn't focus on housing supply especially cheaper apartments, but banks and politicians together put 4 times more burden on us when it comes to monthly mortgages or rents and groceries, now suddenly we call immigrants as the problem for everything. How will Canada impress the world if it targets the weakest people in Canada rather than working on the core issues, the poor refugees and immigrants who were welcome with open arms can never influence the powerful think about it dear Canadians ?

I am an immigrant myself , cameto canada 15 years ago from India as a student. Back then we dint come to get PR but to improve our skills , there was really only 4 universities we all came to UoT, mcgill, Uof A and BC, to do our postgraduate studies in engineering, medicine and business. We applied only when we got full or partial scolarship….. i now work in a canadian base cmpany as mid level engineering manager. .. the quality of indian students coming in has gone down …kids enrolling in diploma mills and their strategy is to work in tim hortons, because the paid 25 k for tution they are entitled to pr and a job … crazy

No standards in terms of who we bring into the country, it's mostly people who are here to exploit the system or don't contribute in any way. It's just the government doing this unchecked and banks and others lobbying for it because it's just untapped source of victims they can exploit as well. Then there just isn't enough housing available, that's no secret. So for people like this Daniel Bernhard guy to say it isn't the massive influx of people causing any issues is incredibly disingenuous. \nIf you increase immigration, be more selective and not all from the same country. There needs to be more control over the entire immigration system so it doesn't spiral out of control and now everyone is suffering, not just those coming to this country.

The bottom line is, Canada _is_ an immigrant country: we will keep accepting immigrants and international students and refugees and asylum seekers in the years to come, that’s just what Canada is about, but I do believe the government needs to manage the flow in a _smarter_ way - policies and regulations that both fulfill Canada’s labor needs, but also obviously do NOT cause the rest of the population to struggle to literally just survive.

There is only One Race of Humans on this Planet but hundreds of different cultures ! I am an Immigrant but when I applied to Canada it was with full intention to become a Canadian I love Canadian Culture. Anyone who Applies for Immigration to Canada should come to this country and embrace Canadian Culture not have Cultures and Religions of other nations forced upon me and mine.IF YOU WANT TO COME TO CANADA YOU BETTER COME HERE AND BE PREPARED TO BE CANADIAN AND GIVE UP YOUR LIFE AND LIBERTY TO DEFEND CANADA AND CANADIANS. you can share your culture but it should never outweigh BEING CANADIAN. My grandparents on my mom's side came over from Scotland after WW2. They bought one of the cheap plots that were available then, but then my grandfather BUILT their house. He was a tradesman (dual carpentry/electrician certified). Lots of that house is still original, with occasionally new paint, and looks new.\n\nFast forward 75 years and we're importing Business Majors and IT specialists to cities that need construction workers and trades people. The houses being built start falling apart before you finalize the paper work. If you DO have the skills and desire to build something yourself, there's a lengthy approval process ahead of you just to get started.\n\nHope you didn't come here with a medical degree, or a specialized certification. That's another long process to be approved to work here. Doesn't matter if you came from rural China or you worked in the US at a major hospital. \n\nLawyers, lobbyists, politicians, and landlords have destroyed the Canadian dream, and we're all sick and tired of it. I have a lot of sympathy for immigrants sold a lie, who come here and end up homeless or worse, but we can't stop what's happening abroad. We can only change what we do here.

I worry my kiddo won’t have housing for uni when of age and won’t even experience a summer job or as a teen as all retail and all jobs previously for youth to gain first employment and experience are now taken by newly arrived immigrants and they keep the positions as they don’t actually come for degrees and schooling for needed areas of employment in the country

I’m an immigrant myself living here in Canada for a quite a few years now and I totally agree that the amount of immigrants coming in needs to decrease drastically. It is hurting all of us but it will hurt Canadians even more not only financially but socially and culturally too.

The woman talking about public housing programs has no idea whats going on. There are a million various immigrants a year coming in through all the various programs. There is no public housing program that could handle that. a decade of output from a housing program wouldn't handle a single year of this immigration. The private sector building housing is the only way to proceed, but immigration is too high to ever catch up.

It's multifaceted. Liberals opened up the flood gates with policies making it very easy for people to immigrate to Canada and increased immigration numbers. It's no longer tied to what Canada can support based on services, resources, and housing. It's simply: Come on in. Second, I've watched a few videos on Youtube showing how immigration is almost a form of trafficking at this point. Immigration companies are making money hand over fist promising the moon to students and people who want a better life and when these poor people get here they end up in crowded lodging with horrible job prospects. A lot of this goes back to the government laxing immigration policies and not being firm on how much we can bring in. This tsunami of immigration has impacted health services, governmental services, and the lives of Canadians. We need to do this smart or not at all. It's frustrating and the frustration needs to be put where it's due, on government and policy but it's also impacting the people and community around us. :( It really isn't the Canada of 10 years ago.

As an immigrant, I believe that the rate of immigration should be slowed down. There are currently insufficient homes, jobs, and healthcare services. The situation has become particularly dire for new immigrants after the pandemic, forcing many to live paycheck to paycheck without time to assimilate. Additionally, the imbalance in the number of immigrants from different countries can hinder assimilation. While I fully support diversity, it is essential that we come together as Canadians to build a unified community rather than creating isolated enclaves. Many immigrants arrive seeking opportunities but are often unaware of the realities of living here. The government needs to take responsibility for allowing this situation to develop and should do more to promote and uphold Canadian values. Also, the system cannot function effectively without proper checks and balances, as many people take advantage of it.

As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Toronto, Canada, especially Ottawa and big cities in Ontario, have become unrecognizable as a result of immigration! I’ve been priced out of my home province! It also doesn’t help that the immigrants these days overwhelmingly come from countries with very different cultural values

I always think it’s funny when Americans come here and see 1/2 our population is immigrations and there’s barely any Canadians.
