This is a great video and so true.. but I have looked to escape the US, I am more than financially-free and no family in the states becaused they all died. I lived places for months at a time in the world, its also very lonely when you don't speak the local language or are not part of the culture. I lived on many parts of Europe and South America and traveled to 59 countries.. We are not a part of those cultures, it may make more sense to find communities in the US in rural areas that have co-living, co-working spaces..

I moved to Toronto 12 years ago, will be leaving permanently in 16 months, the main reason are the cold unfriendly rude people, I’ve lived in several places in the world and no where are they colder! Just my personal experience

I wasn't born here but I've lived here now for 45 years and my god! This place is sadly going into a nose dive. Our Politicians don't realize how good this city and country is and they have ruined it over the years by having an obtuse outlook on the future of Toronto and this country. Crime rate is so high, cost of living is insane. No housing.Housing is suppose to be a fundamental human right and our politicians have made it into a pure luxury now. The other thing is wages have not reflected the cost of living in this country since 2000. Most do not earn a living wage here and its so disappointing to see. The Federal Gov wants to bring about a 1million more immigrants into Canada within a few years...Where would they live? Most are already living in tents in the streets. Its fine now but what happens when winter makes its entrance? From the Provincial Gov to Federal Gov this country is sadly run by idiots!

I’m here for last 6 years but I’d like to tell people - Canada is not the place to come and never ever make this mistake . Economy literally zero, school system - other than real education they teach you everything which is of useless in life, medical care - people have been waiting to see doctor for over 2 years, income tax is 50% which is you’ll never get anything as take home. There are way too many society issues that she’s not able to cover because of the limited time she lived here. There’s no social structure, festivals, support, mentally everyone’s weak, almost all food is GMO which will make you patient forever. Every family who came here post covid is struggling. Most of us are planning to return to motherland sooner or later ?? India is the best place for well rounded life always and many people are moving back including our group

The problem is not immigration. During the pandemic there was no immigration for a few years, yet the price of the houses increased by about 20% a year or more. The problem is demand and demand is hugely increased by investors. Investors don't live in the place and in many cases they don't even rent the place. At lease half of those seeking to buy houses are investors. Therefore investors double the demand.\n\nHouses are limited supply whereas investors are numerous and have access to unlimited money either cash or loan from banks. We have created a housing market. It means we made it something like share market where everyone can put their money in it and buy as many as they want. During the pandemic demand for toilet paper became very high and there were limited supply. Supermarkets limited one or 2 packs per customer because it would be unfair for some to stack most of the papers and others have none. Some customers wanted to buy tons and fill their homes with toilet paper and they did. House and land is limited too. Why can't we do the same for homes? Demand is important and always going to be there from those who want to move there and live in it. Investors buy many homes and bid higher in value than normal people because they have more money and they know the price will rise. They raise the demand sky high. Specially if they're foreign investors. They can buy hundreds of apartments or houses and leave it empty.\n\nAs I mentioned, we do need certain amount of demand for housing and that demand is going to be always there by people who want to buy and live in it whether they're local or immigrants. However, when many investors come in and they have greed, the demand becomes sky high and the price will become so high that only investors can afford them. Rent also depends on the value of the property. The higher the price, the higher the rent. So the issue is investors. Too many of them with too much greed.

Our Health Care system is broken. We have very bad doctors and insane wait times. Our Health Care is tax funded and it's impossible to sue the hospital if they misdiagnose or mistreat an illness. When you pay for your doctor you will get the best care. Not up here though. One thing per visit and you must see a medical clinic first, if you can get an appointment. My last 2 visits were 14h wait times, and that's at the biggest hospital in BC. \n\nWe don't have free speech. We heavily tax our poorest people. Our gas is over $2 a liter. Food is very expensive especially at fast food places and restaurants. \n\nOur internet is third world at best but with some of the highest data costs in the world. \n\nWe have a run on our borders and our infrastructure is bursting at the seams. We put the needs of other countries before our own. Could be a good thing but not when helping the world is making it harder and harder for those born here to actually live and thrive here.

Ok, so I live near a border crossing so I’ve been over to shop on many occasions. (Never lived there though.) Here’s an example of a time I was over there, waiting in line at customer service at a store. There was a man in front of me. I patiently waited for him to finish and then went to step forward in his place. A woman behind me basically pushed me out of the way, literally cut me, and then started interacting with the employee like it was an everyday normal thing to do! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Manners are something you learn as a child. I had no idea how I’m inconsiderate and rude some people could be. (I have many other examples but of course when I see something like that, I really notice it.)\nNever mind the lack of respect for human life when you’re trying to drive on a Freeway with some. That’s actually terrifying.

As a person born in Canada in the 50s I have seen the change in Canada over the decade to now where this Liberal gov had torn the hell out of what once was a terrific place to work and live. Canada is objectively better in terms of legal employment protections, unemployment insurance and healthcare, even though it's second-rate when you take into account waiting times etc. Our public education system is hands down better, even with it's woke issues. If you have never been to, or lived in Canada, you have no right making this video. As a Canadian I am actually going to set up a business that's taking advantage of America's horrible healthcare system. I actually wanted to move to the United States every since I was a teen ager. I went to the Detroit area and they failed me in nursing school. I found white Americans to be quite feral and maintain sadistic tendencies and arrogance as necessary cultural value. Regardless my life in Toronto, Canada has turned into nightmare and I still think America is a better place simply because you have more options and job opportunities. Would I prefer to live in the United States? The answer is YES!!

Hey there, you fine American... Just to let you understand, our system is FAR from perfect, but it's still easy access and quick service IF you don't need a rare specialist or a not so rare one). The thing is, it's ALL priority based, so if you wait, it's because someone needs your resources even MORE than you do. Sometimes, it ends up in a tragedy, but MOST times, it allows for the neediest to get it first. \nAs far as having children here, we have a NEGATIVE birthrate, so our government PAYS us to have children. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. The Alberta Premier is a far-right conspiracy nutcase and her new pet-project is Capitalist healthcare (among her trolley of lunacies). SAME place the far-right rednecks always come at us from. It's like they binge-watch FUX nonnews and get their ideas from the dumbest idiots there. Disgraceful Canadian MAGAt wannabes are the result of Trump polluting everything since 2016. I’ve travelled to the states many times, vacation/work training/day trips & also my son lived in NC on a golf scholarship & you’re correct that it does depend on the area/place within the US but in the end I’m always relieved when I arrive back to Canada. I feel safe here! Our last trip was to California visiting San Francisco, Monterey & the coast, so beautiful & it was a great vacation. Just to mention the only way that we felt safer going there is because it’s a majority Democratic state. US can be nice to visit but there’s no place like home & Canada is the best for many reasons.

First lets mention what I like about the United States. Americans are easy to make friends with. They have no problem making friends with complete strangers. Americans can be very inviting to compared to many places I have traveled to. The only place that compares in Canada is Newfoundland. In Canada you generally need an invite to a group to make friends.\n\nI liked how varied each state is. Changing states can sometimes feel crossing into a new world of sorts. This change can be both good and bad (i.e. Georgia very educated, Tennessee quite backwater). \n\nWhat I don't like is how Americans are overly patriotic, they can be borderline nationalistic and it is creepy (i.e. school children pledging allegiance before they even know what that means). In Canada if I don't want to stand during the playing of the national anthem no problem I don't have to. If you do that in the United States someone will address you and not in a favorable way. I also find their patriotism blinds many Americans to the truth about their country (i.e. many American truly have no idea how they compare to the rest of the world in many areas).\n\nLastly their infrastructure is terrible. Their infrastructure is first class if you are a driving a car, but in many places you aren't getting anywhere without that car. Is that such an added expense to have to own a car. This is the same problem in Canada, but from having lived in Europe and Asia I miss good transit systems.

I'm Canadian. I was born here, raised here, and have lived here all my life. However, my parents are American (they came during the Vietnam war), and I have full dual citizenship. I could cross the border into the U.S., get a job, start working and live there for the rest of my life if I ever chose to do so.\n\nHowever, I will never live in the U.S. Why? The cost of healthcare insurance and healthcare in general is definitely a part of that, but another huge factor is the socio-political atmosphere down there that is very unappealing to me. Everything from politics, the gun issue, much higher violence than we have in Canada, more racism issues, the media, and from what I have observed from decades of visits to the U.S.: there just seems to be a lot more people that are on edge and hostile than I am used to compared to Canada as well. For me, the general culture and mindset is just not something I want to live amongst.\n\nThere are some things I enjoy in the U.S., and there ARE wonderful people there too. I have several friends in the U.S. (born and raised), not to mention my entire extended family is American. But for me, the U.S. is a nice enough place to visit, but it's not somewhere I'd ever want to live.\n\nNo matter what kind of trip I take to the U.S., whenever I get back home to Canada it's always like a deep sigh of relief. I feel safer. I feel more relaxed. I feel at home. No matter how good my trip was, when I set foot back on Canadian soil again I always get a feeling of humble gratitude that I live here. For me, other than the warmer weather and some of the sights the U.S. has to offer, I'm much, much happier in Canada. I feel very fortunate to live here.\n\nAs a side note, I have never found our public healthcare system here in Canada to be lacking whatsoever. Any healthcare I, or anyone else I know that has received any, has always been prompt, of excellent quality, and reassuringly delivered in a professional manner.\n\nAs an example, in 1994, my father had a seizure and it was discovered that he had a benign brain tumour that had to be removed. Not even a week later, he was booked for his surgery and he had his procedure. He was operated on by one of the top two neurosurgeons in North America at the time, he spent three weeks in recovery at the hospital, and he had months of rehab afterward. About 2 weeks later, he had another seizure (the last one he ever had), he stayed in another hospital for an additional two weeks.\n\nHowever, all of what I just mentioned, and I mean ALL of it, was paid for by our public healthcare system. All he had to do was show his healthcare card and sign a release form for his surgery, and that was it. Nothing more. There were literally ZERO bills, no insurance companies, no paperwork, no phone calls, and ZERO hassle. Nothing.\n\nAnd no, our family was NOT rich or privileged either. Just an average middle class family. However, my dad's neurosurgeon told us his surgery and all the months of care he received afterward would have cost $180,000 (in 1994!), and our family would have been out on the street if it wasn't for our healthcare system. My dad also had a very minor heart attack in 2007 which didn't require surgery, and he didn't have to pay a dime or do anything else other than show his healthcare card for that either. Since those two events, my father has lived a healthy, normal life thanks to our public healthcare.\n\nIn Canada, EVERYONE receives that kind of care, regardless of if they are a billionaire or they are homeless. Because that's the moral and ethical thing to do, and is just one of the many reasons why I plan on staying here.

I have a couple of friends who moved to the US and they would probably tell you that it’s not a bad place to live and raise your family. But, they live in Southern California and Arizona so they are living in far better climates then they ever had in Canada. Their spouses were able to get extremely good jobs that pay a lot more than they would ever be paid in Canada so they live in gated communities, their children all go to private schools, they can afford the best health insurance plans and so they are insulated from all the biggest issues that are found in the US. Being higher income families they never had to utilize any of the social security programs such as unemployment, maternity leave (they were able to stay with their child their whole childhoods), health insurance (always able to pay copays and any costs above what their insurance will cover), no worries about daycare or food stamps. They really don’t have a clue how a very high percentage of US citizens actually function daily and I think they would not be happy there if they were forced to ‘mingle with masses’

You being American don't know how it feels like to go to a Doctor or Hospital when Your Sick and then just go Home.\nWe Pay for Our Drugs and Travel for most of Us, but Nobody goes without Medical Treatment when They need it.\nEverything Else is Covered like a Place to live if Your not too Criminal.\nLots of Woods to live in if Your Resourceful like Me.\nPut Me on the Streets and I'll build a Ponderosa Chalet in the Woods and Live Free.

Life expectancy in Canada is 82, in the USA it is 76. That's proof how inferior the American health care system is. It's an amazing place to travel. I wouldn't trade what we have in Canada to live there.

I have a good friend who spent a good many years living and working in the US. He summed it up as being very similar in many ways, with some frustrating drawbacks, but overall it was far better in many ways. Don't beat yourself up. We might have a few things going for us, but those who have the will and determination to pull their weight have a far better shot in the US. \n\nRemember that. Americans get out of America what they put into it. Canadians get what they get out of Canada no matter what. If you like the feeling of the reward of hard work and perseverance, you're only limited in America by your own ambition. If you like the comfort and safety of a network of social systems, then Canada is the place to be. On the flip side, if you want to have the peace of mind that the government will take care of you if you can't take care of yourself, then don't go to the US. If you're ambitious and creative and want to work hard at making something of yourself, Canada will crush your hopes and dreams like a bug.

I would say both Countries have advantages , and disadvantages alike . Dental care in Canada is not covered by the Government Universal Health care plan , and is Grossly overpriced , can not get even simple antibiotics without first Visiting a Doctor . Wait times in Hospital Emergency is sometimes 24 Hours or more , unless you are Dying on the Floor . To sum it up , Canada is a much better place to live for low income people , and people on Public assistance . US is a Much better place to live if you have a successful business , or High Income Job.

I could and would never move to the US. It has some amazing people that I am friends with and some beautiful places but I would never move there because of the guns, the Bible Belt, the much bigger religious issues, the terrible cost of healthcare and the fact that the Republicans are so terrible. You couldn't pay me to live there. I never paid a cent giving birth four times, having a miscarriage or any surgery or hospitalization of any length.

Both Canada and America have huge problems right now. As a 73yo Canadian I have NEVER seen so much hate for our Government. Everyone has the exact same complaints, like it was scripted. Our press is constantly stirring the pot and it makes unsatisfied Canadians more angry every day. The negative press pounding on our PM never ends. The problem with Canadian health care is a lack of doctors. It's not that Canadians don't become doctors, it's that many doctors move to the US because they can make more money there. \nI live in a small town that has a large hospital and it has pretty short wait times and the hospital has lots of space. We could easily accommodate overflow from surrounding communities, but we have a lack of staff to do so. So there are a couple wings of the hospital that are completely empty as a result. The hospital itself is well maintained, new looking, lots of art on the walls and mood lighting. It's a very pleasant place to visit. Every time I've gone in for an emergency, they've been able to get me into surgery within a few hours, but booking a surgery for something that's not life threatening takes about 3-4 months. But that's because they have to leave space just in case there are emergencies that come in. With more staff, they could easily cut wait times in half.

The person who moved from Toronto to Seattle….the weather is better? You live in the Pacific Northwest…same as Vancouver BC! BC and Washington State have the same weather systems! It’s the exact opposite of Toronto! We are one of the highest minimum wages in Canada. Also….if you want ethnic foods Vancouver is the place to be. So many types it’s delightful! Hi Tyler ~ As this is a “younger” demographic…I was wondering if you could do a comparison with an older demographic - such as the who go to Florida and Arizona, as well as, a few other places, such as Palm Springs during the colder months. If they happen to be there for Christmas ~ CANUCKS (what Canadians refer to another Canadian) usually gather, close a few blocks of the neighbourhood and have Christmas dinner, then there’s Bonfire Night with fireworks in November (for the NEWFOUNDLANDERS that go to Florida), New Years celebrations is another. I could go on, as I have family that live 3/4 of the year in Canada and go to their southern homes for 3-4 max months of the winter. It would definitely be interesting on their perspective, as they can travel and interact with all demographics of society…including the police…as well as, their experiences with ** in the USA!\n\nCheers??☺??

My daughter has been living there for last 7yrs now. She moved to Ottawa when she was only 18yrs old . Started at Carleton University. She did well at univ and now working at a reputed establishment. She also got her permanent residenship of Canada. So if a 18yr old can make it there all alone than why not anyone. Every place has its positive and negative. Weather is contrast but we get used to that too. Nothing comes easy in life, if you want to succeed it's totally on you. The people there are very polite and well natured. Standard of living in very good.

Usa and canada is a place of education and business to grow. What is in your mind? There re alot of kenyans living great life in usa and canada. Those who follow ghetto behaviors like them we found' they copied those behaviors and their life become worse than in kenya. Again power of choice. I am a single mom living in usa. Brought kids here saw them through education and they re doing good. Your purpose will drive you to your desire. Many voices will be heard but life in foreingn countries is not bad. Some people go back home and after few years come back. Why is life is that bad

It looks like you are living in a suburb, far from the city centre. These types of places are designed for people with cars. Otherwise you will spend too much time walking and waiting for public buses.

Frankly, every country has its negatives and positives. Australia is a highly multicultural country and people are respectful of each other. In fact, if you go to outskirts of Sydney in regional NSW or any other state in Australia, people are very warm and friendly. Sometimes, it’s a matter of luck and also your skillset and English language ability. I am an immigrant myself and as a family we have been extremely happy here. The health system is fantastic, which is very important in my opinion. If you are a professional with excellent English abilities, you can get best of high paying jobs. It all depends on individual situations and background. I agree, summers are hot but that’s pretty much only 10-15 days in a year, and I think it’s reasonable compared to living indoors 7-8 months depressed due to severe cold and snow. Be happy wherever you are, stay positive and work hard, the rest will fall in place.

1) Dont go abroad with the mindset that you are going to live the same life you live here. You cant. \n\n2) dont expect it to be a plug and play experience like moving from indian city to another. You cant pack your life in 8 suitcases and go to a place which has many different requirements in terms of neccesities of life and system of living eg weather, clothes having car, different way of shopping, eating,doing household chores, accessing systems like health care, school etc. \n\n3) dont go thinking that all the things you need there are available to you or even that you will know/recognise what you need to settle down there. \n\n4) unless you are super rich dont think you can afford to \nHave all the necessary things to live the average life there. You wont. It takes 2-6 years to aquire all that. \n\n5) Don't go with the attitude of keeping parallel life back in India to run back to. Then you will never settle down to do what you need to do there. \n6) Also in most cases no matter your age you will be like a young graduate on their first job away from fathers home and all the struggles they have you too will have almost similar struggles. \n7) give it alleast 2 years whole heartedly ( not keeping one foot in India) then only then you will know whether you really like it or not.
