8:17 BEST BUY Hello people Just before the COVID 19 pandemic struck our Country, in the United States of America. My son and I were shopping at Best Buy. We had more than five or six different people ask if we needed assistance. My Son would say no thanks, and I would ask each one that did ask if I needed help, to help me. That associate would show me where to look, then try real hard to get away from me. This happened at least five to six times. All six times, I said yes. Finally, they stopped asking me and continued to ask my son. The reason my son would say no thanks is because he was just looking. I, on the other hand, had questions about what I wanted to buy. They did a great job answering all of my questions, however, when it came to buying what I wanted to buy most of all of the associates had either left the area or went home, because I could not find anyone when it came down to purchasing the items I wanted, only to find out what I wanted was made in China, They no longer carry the product, in their stores, or online. However, they still had the items on display; however, you just could not buy them. P.S. We are white.

Actually US is not a democracy, but a republic. And Canada is a parliamentary democracy. Taxes are higher in Canada than the US, and also, wait time to see a specialist and operation is longer in Canada on average. However, don't get me wrong, I do love Canada. Victoria, BC is one of the FAVORITE places I have ever been. And I do love Hockey as well.

?? Im from Ontario Canada and have always worked management in retail. I've always taught any employees in any department that if you see anyone lingering for any longer than 5 minutes, black, white, or any race for that matter to ask if they need assistance! Again I don't care the color, race, most people that come into a store have come in and know what they're looking for! When I see a customer looking for longer than 5 mins, it's just common practise to ask if you need help. I'd suggest you's re-think this practise that we all are taught in stores

I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. My parents live in Ontario and they’re Muslim. The problem with the racisim test is , that Black skin absorbed more light and therefore is harder to read as oppose to lighter skin colors. Therefore, when a lighter skin person raised around lighter skin peoplelook at darker people they tend to gaze longer trying to figure them out through their micro expressions. Darker skin people on the otherhand raised around drker skinned people are expert on micro expressionand can judge more quickly. So, really this race test has nothing to do with racism, but perceptions of facial shadows.

As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

It’s a tough situation for the USA. We have a record number of immigrants here. There’s no easy or nice way to enforce the law. \n\nOne thing also that has hurt immigrants is they vote 80% for Democrats. You may not think it’s a big deal but it is to Republicans trying to prevent too much socialism from taking hold. That causes more resistance to immigration. Traditionally immigrants, as they stay longer in the USA, become Republicans and we reach an equilibrium. If too many immigrants come in a short period, there is not enough time to acclimate them and maintain political stability.

Migrant women, children and men are globally sleeping on the street. Asylum has to have a valid right to life process. Trudeua is trying do the right thing.
