Canada is a massive country with only 40 million people, there is enough space here for immigrants that will come here legally and search for a better life. Do not forget that Canada is a free country and that all of us here are immigrants, the land belonged to native Indians.

Illegals are not welcome, and one of the basic requirements of a country is to protect it borders. My wife and my son-in-law are immigrants..... legal. They have earned educations and professions, the contribute to the tax base and society, and they appreciate what they have earned. Immigration is a cenetrpiece of this country, when done right. If Canada wants the illegals, I'm sure the US will be happy to deliver them. But I believe most Canadians don't, and we are only hearing a few airheaded corner cases, similar to what is being deleted from our national consciousness right now.

I'm Hispanic, 3rd gen American. My great grandparents were born in Mexico, my grandparents were born in Texas in the 1920s. Anyway, I grew up an hour from the Mexican border. I don't know any family that lives in Mexico. IDK why these media pundits feel that because I'm Hispanic, I would want an open border. I'm as American as anyone else. We in Canada must never allow illegal people of any kind or situation to enter Canada.Those who attempt to cross our borders must be sent back to where they came from if they do not meet the legal requirements to enter.If that means engaging our military to enforce the laws then that is what should used.People who break laws are not welcome and should under absolutely no circumstances be allowed to set foot into Canada,period!!.

Canada just reduced its legal immigration numbers to allow time for infrastructure to catch up , schools , hospitals , housing etc. I doubt Canada wants a pile of people due to USA issues knocking on the door.

This woman is right. We need people who are willing to sacrifice their time and their old citizenship to become Americans. She sacrificed a great deal to become a true American citizen. I do not want to be a citizen of another country although I have spent time as a guest worker LEGALLYin other countries. I was not allowed to take jobs in those countries (Japan and Germany) that native workers had the right to take. I was not given benefits or a right to vote. I had a passport which I was required to carry at all times because as a foreign worker I could be stopped and questioned about my legal status. My passport showed my working status in country with the appropriate stamp. I accepted these restrictions as part of my working conditions. I wanted to keep my own citizenship as an American although I could have worked to obtain the fluency level required and the citizenship understanding of law and legal procedures to become a citizen. It would have taken time and waiting for an application to clear. That is what it would have required but I wanted to be an American. I did not renounce my citizenship lightly…nor should anyone without work and thoughtful consideration of what it is to BE a member of that country.

I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. Then we stood outside in the -20 degrees c freezing cold in a long lineup of good people trying to get their citizenships like my wife, all legally obeying the laws of Canada. I’m white so it doesn’t mater our skin color or religion. Its about love and respect to the laws of our country. What I was talking about before is we here in Canada have been suffering from over taxation, extremely high rental rates, high food costs, greatly reduced medical care (My Mom died recently from lack of proper med care resources). They put her lonely dying body in the hallway where she was robbed of her cell phones, money, food and respect. Due to migrants and illegal immigrants overloading the beds and rooms pouring in from other countries. they drained our existing medical system resources and much more. Drug addicts who overdosed on Fentanyl they take first and push all other patients aside. Doctors take them first before helping a dying mother, father, brother or sister, infant and children pushed aside to save a drug addicts life first. I have been told many times this is also do to them taking care of the pouring in migrants and illegal immigrants using it all up. Where is love and justice? So for those with partners who are undocumented, you can expect one day that partner simply won't return home. Prepare for the worst. It is now a reality.
