I'm 27 and I have 35k saved. I've made so much money over the years that has been spent on rent, paying back student debt, braces, food, taxes, my business expenses, and life in general. I'm hoping my business will continue to grow to the point where I don't need to be worried about retiring... but honestly, Canada is making it really hard. I feel like my 20s were over in a flash and I barely got to do anything but work

Ironically, the current system is very unfriendly to well educated, relatively wealthy potential immigrants with valid job offers and skill set confirmed by the Canadian authorities to be beneficial for the economy. Being such person, I've been trying to move there for a year now and am on the brink of giving up.

I was fortunate to relocate to the Canada a few years ago. Witnessing the social issues exacerbated by ineffective immigration policies, I can understand why Canadians might feel frustrated. I'm always eager to engage with the community, but I found that many Canadians are reluctant to discuss politics or care about what is going on in their neighborhoods, and the voting rate in city elections are very low. A few months ago, I shared a city government survey designed to collect residents' opinions about the next 5-year development plan with some friends, but only one out of five showed interest in participating.\nI hope that more Canadians will take advantage of their democratic system to drive change and shape her into the country they want to live in. Back in my home country, we couldn’t vote for our government, so having democracy is a privilege—please use it wisely while you can!\nNote: I am grateful that the Canadians I’ve met have been very welcoming.

Canada is way overrated. I've spent so many years living there and now I am back in my country of birth. I regret immigrating to Canada 20 years ago. All those years that I've spent living in Canada I consider as waste of time. It turns out that I can make more money in my country of birth than in Canada. And it's safer than Canada. Western countries like Canada or US are just overhyped.

I like the fact how they consider whites as real Canadians & not the people who've being living there for 65+ years or the natives!

Ah.. there's your root cause\n No public housing arrangement means no liability for the ones you've nominated. \n\nSo, how do you expect the problem to be resolved? ?

I will watch this video yet but my first response: is this rhetorical?\n I will comment here after I’ve watched the video. I am the son of an immigrant and am currently dating an immigrant.

In Canada, we've created inflated strawmen to beat down. Despite whatever reasonable arguments there may be about being cautious with our immigration policies, what's buoying the anti-immigrant sentiment is boogeymanism.

The vast majority of people are not against immigration per se, they just want it to be done at a pace that it doesn't change the fabric of society. There are countries where this happens, and they don't experience the evaporation of social cohesion we've seen in Western Europe. Immigration can boost economies and foster diplomatic ties between nations if done well. If done badly, it leads to chaos.

I've said this before and I'll say it again\n\nits a problem of quantity over quality.\n\nmost of the immigrants who are not able to sustain themselves are not fit and came via study permits to open or non existing universities, refugees or a broken PR system which favours people on incorrect criterias than their experience and background.

I've lived in 8 different communities in 3 different provinces and Toronto is the only place I've been asked what country am I from. I even had someone get angry when I said Canada.

It's multifaceted. Liberals opened up the flood gates with policies making it very easy for people to immigrate to Canada and increased immigration numbers. It's no longer tied to what Canada can support based on services, resources, and housing. It's simply: Come on in. Second, I've watched a few videos on Youtube showing how immigration is almost a form of trafficking at this point. Immigration companies are making money hand over fist promising the moon to students and people who want a better life and when these poor people get here they end up in crowded lodging with horrible job prospects. A lot of this goes back to the government laxing immigration policies and not being firm on how much we can bring in. This tsunami of immigration has impacted health services, governmental services, and the lives of Canadians. We need to do this smart or not at all. It's frustrating and the frustration needs to be put where it's due, on government and policy but it's also impacting the people and community around us. :( It really isn't the Canada of 10 years ago.

As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Toronto, Canada, especially Ottawa and big cities in Ontario, have become unrecognizable as a result of immigration! I’ve been priced out of my home province! It also doesn’t help that the immigrants these days overwhelmingly come from countries with very different cultural values

They’ve just blindly followed the UK. No infrastructure, housing, healthcare or jobs.

Its about both the deterioration of public services, AND the increase in immigration. Since the 90s we stopped building public housing. Since 2015 we've greatly increased the amount of immigration. Both have contributed to his mess, not just one or the other.

We are a country of immigrants. Bringing in millions of people at once isn't working. We are poor, homeless, and the economy is kept afloat because we've piled in new people. People need time to become Canadian and we need time to build the infrastructure.

Who moves to another country without checking it out first, or does research? Dumbest thing I've heard to be this naive, especially when they probably heard horror stories already.

I’m a Cree Indian. \nI don’t have open arms for mass migration. Remember the last time we opened our arms? It didn’t work out so well for my people. We’ve seen this coming since the 2000s.\nBut no one listens to us.

We need some amount of immigration. But most people are feeling the pinch in terms of cost of living and housing. So they've soured to the idea of more people right at a time when the government sharply increased the numbers of immigrants being admitted. Add a little right wing populism and you've got a recipe for pushback unfortunately.

Find the video about the receipt left by a Venezuelan illegal in a bodega in NYC. They get over $15,000, lets say 18,000 per MONTH for food & $5,000 in cash. A conservative estimate- $23,000+ per month in govt benefits. x 12 is $276,000 ANNUALLY. They've been incentivized to invade so they can vote & many of them already have. \n\nWe've been sold out to the lowest bidder by our own leaders. We are hemorrhaging money because our government is giving it away. Stock up on necessities, medication, 1st aid & canned, dried and freeze-dried goods, get your guns & ammo & GET READY. This is serious & it's going to get ugly. The attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13th was a wake up call. I never liked the man. I voted for Dementia Magoo the child-groper against my better judgment. So disgusted! This year I'll VOTE FOR TRUMP.

Immigration has become infestation in both the US and Canada. Our ?? Prime Minister is instrumental in causing the problem on our side of the border. I apologize to all my American family and friends. Since Justin Castro took office in 2015 we’ve gone from 36 million to 41 million in population. Our system can’t handle that amount, so off they go to the US. I’m convinced Justin in his narcissistic mind dream’s about someday ruling India.

You can have them back, they’ve been coming from New York into Canada for years.

I am a permanent resident of Canada and born in the US. I live right outside of Montreal. I actually went to Plattsburgh, NY three times in past two months and each time while on my way back from Plattsburgh, I would encounter several migrants at the bus stop shown on the video. In one of my encounters I saw a group of them wearing ankle monitors. I would see vans standing at the gas station picking up and dropping off migrants. These drivers are helping the problem just to make money. I just heard on the news that greyhound changed the bus stop in Plattsburgh a couple of weeks ago and I wonder if it's because of the illegal migrants. I have been going to Plattsburgh by bus for many years and I've never seen migrants inundate the area as I have in the past year. I knew about Mexicans flying over to Canada so they can walk across the boarder into the US but I didn't know it was this bad. I don't see this problem going away unless Canada works with the US to solve it. It's getting scary out there because there are criminals who has committed serious crimes in their home country and come here on a clean slate to continue their criminal activity. When does this torture end?

I’ve yet to hear Trump say anything negative about her being black .. he’s simply stating she’s using it as a card to get votes .: never said be scared of her bc shes black .. but be fearful of our economic and criminal future if she gets elected .. have the last 4 years gotten better or worse ? Was 2016-2020 better for your neighborhoods and pocket book ? STOP

I know EXACTLY where that Canada/Vermont sign is in Rouses Point and I'm sure I've been past that Mobil station north of exit 39 off the Adirondack Northway. I watched a you tube about the illegal immigrant problem in Rouses Point. I adore that village, but you have to leave town for services,

Every business aims the Indian market. Same goes for the Canadian diplomas. At the first place it was the white people representing the so called Canadian Colleges who manipulated the Indian students to come to their place and have a future. They shouldn’t have done this. If the people who had been following the western life in India came here, things wouldn’t have been like this. They would’ve adopted the Canadian culture and moved on. But your government and agencies were greedy, wanted money, looted all the innocent people who hadn’t had any idea what living in North America would be and had them come here. So, who should we blame? Think.

Nothing new they’ve been doing this it cost more but is more low key. The more we give with out any regulation the more ppl will over whelm the system and create more resentment with taxpayers that keep receiving tax hikes.

I've lived in Canada for around 8 yrs, still don't get it, how come a country with 2nd largest land in the world has a housing crisis?? When I just arrived in the country, the cost to own a house was around $400k, now it is about $750k to maybe $900k. I am soooooo regret I didn't get one when it's relatively affordable.

Wow. And how much do we get from Social Security? You know, the people who paid into it their WHOLE LIVES? And where's MY free medical, FREE HOUSING, and 1400.00/mo debit card? WTF? Vote out the Left before they finish turning the rest of our country into the mess/3rd world/slum/disease ridden $H!THOLE that they've made of their 50 year supermajority in California.

Yeah, no kidding. I live minutes away from the Canadian border in NY, almost in between two international bridges. I've personally seen bus loads of illegal aliens at our Wal-Marts, laundry mats, and grocery stores. We have a reservation on our border which is in both the US and Canada and that's been a smuggling hub for ever. We also have a stretch of land border, that is alot of farm land and is wide open.

Thanks for the video. I didn't know this is happening. Trudeau is a traitor to Canada, and humanity, which is why the policy was changed. He's just as vile as the POTUS. \n\nLast I heard Canada has absorbed over 16k illegals over our border, from the US. The intentional strains to each country are shared. \n\nCanada and the US needs leaders who are nationalists and work for the nations they've been elected to serve. Unfortunately, the democratic process might be over, thanks to the left.
