I was born in Canada when my father was here on a temporary workpermit. But he took us back to India and that is where I grew up and completed my UG to return back to Canada. After comming back I completed my Masters and PhD and Post-doctoral studies. again I relocated back to India and lived there for another 6 years and then I moved to US. But again I moved back to Saskatoon, Canada just recently. Because I realised that Canada is the best place to live. Now I am not going anywhere else. Will live here until my last breath.

My wife and I are actually flying to Brasil permanently this Sunday. Not coming back. Leaving Calgary, and Canada, for good. Couldn't be happier.

I've known people from 3rd world who came here and went back, because they thought this place was better, and discovered it was like every other hellhole. Pretty wrapper with rot underneath. Canada is no place to build happiness. It's a place to live in a daze, drowning in bills all life to end up lower than you started. In more of a dump with more desperate people. I came as an international student worked really hard, got job and doing well! Canada has been really good to me and gave me all the good opportunities, met fantastic people and it is not the same 12 years back. But hey we can still make it a better place and fantastic country! Wish you the best!!

I was born in Canada but my parents came here a while back for a better life almost 25 yrs ago. They immigrated legally, my father was very educated in his field of engineering but redid his education here. Am I apart of this problem? I feel as Canada is my home and I have adopted a lot of the customs, but if I’m disrupting the flow of how the medical system works because of my foreign blood then I might consider finding another country that is already preset for someone like me.

I visited both few months ago and man i loved Canada so much i would move there if not for my family and friends, it was so nice even at night you can walk safely and have positive interactions with people, when i was in NY everything was so damn expensive i just wanted to go back to Montreal. Also Preach is 100% right about women they're tough as hell in NY ? They were much nicer in Canada for sure?

I came to Canada in 2020. I studied for 3 years in London, Ontario, and moved to Toronto 6 months ago to work. My opinion is that the city of Toronto is deeply ill and something is definitely wrong. I live and work Downtown, and have to pay 2650 CAD/month to live in 400 sq ft inside a condo. There are no trees/wild animals within many square kilometers of my house, but there are a lot of homeless people and dangerous drug addicts. I learned the hard way that living in Toronto and visiting Toronto as a tourist are totally different things. I hope to be able to leave the city as soon as possible, and possibly get back to London.

Sad about leaving Canada? You get taxed up the….., it’s frozen for half of the year, the people are also frozen and they try to stab you in the back (especially in Quebec). A childhood classmate of mine visited Canada and these are her impressions: people are fat, disgusting, it’s boring, depressing, cold, gloomy; every second person is in a wheelchair but they don’t have to be, pretending to be disabled because the government pays them for disabilities, etc. After going back home every person that she saw on the street was extremely gorgeous in her eyes after the horror that she saw in Canada…. This is obviously a little exagerated and coming from someone whose expectations were high but you get the point.\n\nWe don’t need to be driving brand new cars all the time, live in brand new homes and spend thousands of dollars for the services that we don’t really need… life is all about simplicity and being able to enjoy every single moment: so many countries in the world offer that: not Canada.

Canada was moving in a direction in the 80’s, that I could see was no longer a fit for me. I never believed that Canada would sink as low as it has, but I have to admit, compared to the US, it was becoming far too regulated, and far too Liberal for my liking.\nThe open immigration policy for me, was a complete deal breaker, and its current shift to being a Muslim, East Indian, Chinese, and African country, would not have worked for me, as a Canadian Protestant of English, Irish, and French descent. I know for a fact that the Chinese are extensively involved in the current synthetic drug crisis, and although there are many law abiding Chinese in Canada, they serve to camouflage the Chinese underworld that exists in Canada, as they do in Mexico, that allows them to pipeline these drugs to Canada, which is being destroyed by this crisis. I agree with the reality of cost of living crisis, because we face it everyday, however, even today in Canada, if you are ready to go back to school and learn highly technical and highly skilled trades specifically required for the oil and gas industry by companies based in Alberta and for aircraft or airplane maintenance,repair,servicing,overhaul,you would thrive.

It is very expensive to live in Canada aside from Healthcare everything has become super expensive , Immoving back to my country of birth ,the Philippines, yes it going to take adjustment because if is a poor country , but having no mortgage and have a house and hobby farm I'm sure I will be fine, fresh fruits and vegetables right in my property. It's too expensive to live in Canada as an entrepreneur with unstable income and it's actually better to work remotely in a cheaper country, even if it's less stable. \n\nAs a few other comments have noted, many issues North America has developed are global issues. Many people don't realize many of the issues are from Central Banks lowering interest rates to zero or negative all to back stop aging demographics. This has been the trend for 30+ years if you check charts of interest rates and government bonds.

My friends moved to Canada from South Africa. They couldn't take it. The one sister lasted 1 year and the other 2 years. They came back and said that giving up community and culture for money and safety was not worth it. And that the people in Canada seemed very sad and depressed.

i think the problem is the schools in canada are allowing too many international students. most of those students can't even pay for their tuitions that some have to go back to their home country. Your country needs stop inviting international students and have limits on how many can only apply.

There was an incident were a cricket match was going to be shown in the mega plex put they did not show it something happened that was not mega plexes fault that it was not being shown there was a group of Indian students who started screaming at the ticket counter.
