As a Venezuelan who migrated and still travels in the proper ways I can surely say many there want true help. Venezuela is insane compared to what you people even live whit, best work you can get there will make you up to 90-120 bucks a month, no food in supermarkets, some insanely expensive which will make you choose between buy bread or tuna and rice for a whole month ( imagine not being able to eat your favorite meats or prefered food FOR MONTHS, EVEN SOME YEARS) , if you are a professional or educated of course the opportunity grows up but not in a socialist country. as we know you can be a socialist in a capitalist system but not the opposite and this is a fact. Those people are genuinely scared with no home back in their country as for many houses and private properties have been removed with force, some of you sure will be wondering how or why not to follow the main curse to migrate? I had to spend 3 days sleeping on a huge queue with many other people also sleeping in the streets to get our passport(that's was the easy part, 4 years to get the date to finally get that fucker passport.), something so simply done in other countries which such ease, not to mention the whole cost for a passport (I knew people who paid aroundn 700usd to get it asap). \n\nPlease don't pitty these people nor hate on any inmigrants, some families there really wish for a future, and again as someone who had the opportunity to do my papers. We do not wish this upon no body. The pain in the hunger, the fact the money from your country is so little valued that even video game money has way more worth.\n\nIt's a very scary place which we are trying to genuinely scape from.\n\nHopefully for my brothers and sisters from the states try to understand, hopefully these people at some point will need to understand that doing things out of fear will not get them far. There were 18.5 million homes built during this period, whereas the homes built between 2016 and 2019 were less than six million. Rough estimates 158 million Homes. Are there empty homes, apartments, sky risers,. Yes. You are fixing to find yourself in misery soon enough if this is allowed to continue. The money is not there for most Americans to foot the bill. Not once have i lived off the government. I work my girl works. We’re having a kid. And things are getting really tight. Inflation is kicking our butts bills increased pay is the same. Were not married yet. We decided to try to seek some government help for at least food right. Shit is tough rn so if we can at least get some food we’ll be fine. We can’t get it technically my girl makes too much money. Why is that even a thing? You’re telling us no because we have too much money? Well we also have alot of bills. Regardless if we’re “middle class” that shit dont feel like it. Im broke af. I got 150 in the bank last me till the 15th. I deserve no help because i choose to help myself? That makes no sense. As a child of European immigrants, I'm entitled to EU citizenship by descent. But it's a bureaucratic nightmare and involves spending thousands on lawyers. I never had a compelling reason to bother with that, but with the complete insanity of housing costs in Canada in the last decade I'm seriously considering it. This country is developing serious issues and no political party has the stones to do anything about it.

Stupid Politicians. They should implement dual interest rates: pump mortgage interest rates to at least 7%, and have corporate interest rates set to 2-3%. And, set property tax to at least 50% for those whose accumulated real estate is valued over 1M~1.5M. I don't expect the Canadian government would implement such a policy any time soon, the only way out for Canadians is to migrate to the U.S.; Canada soon will become a hallowed country (similar to Hong Kong) - has nothing but real estate - look at the # of jobs related to real estates - totally insane - not mentioning most of these workers only accept cash to avoid taxes. If you are young and not stupid, you should move to the U.S. - period.

The politics of Canada are no longer 'tolerant and liberal'. We are losing our freedoms daily (refer Bill C-11). We are becoming stifled by censorship. We have a spiralling housing crisis. Known murderers are being freed after a few days on bail, leading to a far less safe social environment than we traditionally had. Our skyrocketing inflation and insanely high taxes are crushing our quality of life. The entire situation is deteriorating week to week since there is an active agenda to destroy our economy and society. I should also mention that our health care system is in a state of collapse.

It’s amazing how people watch a 30 second clip posted by cnn and now that enough to make up their mind about immigration these happen all the time and these guys are well trained to handle it. The amount of people that play into the bullshit and narrative these “news” channels push is insane. No longer do we have skeptics and neutral party people instead we have retards from the left and right wing sides.

I live in rural Newfoundland. At 23 years old i was able to buy a house for 239k with a 12k down payment. I was only able to do this by saving my money since I started working at 17, although when i started working and saving i never thought that money would go to buying a house. Anyways my point is I was only able to afford this home because i lived with my parents until i bought a house and they were kind enough not to charge me rent, all i had to do was pay for groceries and help out around the house. However paying over 200k for a house in a small community that only has a hardware store grocery store and a gas station with the nearest town that has anything more than that being a 45 minute drive away via highway is insane. I am by far the exception in this generation rather than the rule, and I wish our housing market was better so that people could afford to buy homes without having to luck into such favorable conditions like I did

Our current government no longer incentivizes Canadians to invest in businesses since they are taxed so heavily in comparison to the US. Our high taxes are subsidizing the mass immigration to the country, leading to poorer public services, insane health care wait times, etc. If Canadians want to start a business they might as well do it south of the border.

Canada is doomed, one of the only reasons why this country has stayed afloat is because of the insane taxes, I bought 3 monster energies today and they were 8 dollars but with tax added up it was 16 dollars, absolutely insane. The cookie is going to crumble eventually most people just can't scrape by anymore, when the government has no more money too tax from people where are they gonna get their money from?

What's happened to canada is what is happening to all countries with woke leadership. We have made wedge issues a priority despite the fact they don't tangibly matter. Resources go into absolute nothing of value. We declared a climate emergency despite being less than 1% of global emissions. This has caused us to literally turn down lucrative LNG contracts that would have reduced the emissions of coal burning nations by 50%. It has made us insane. We sold all our gold and are printing money while expecting the entire middle class to bear the burden of this money printing. Billions have to Ukraine and nobody even knows why.
