I worked for only 10 years in the USA paying a small portion of my earnings in taxes. Then I returned to Canada, working 25 years and paying a much larger portion of my earnings in taxes. I'm now retired in Canada receiving CPP benefits that are less than a third of the Social Security check I'm receiving from the USA. I wish I had stayed in the US and continued working there. I would be so much better off in retirement.

In Canada, it was way too many, way too fast. All of a sudden there were tens of thousands Indians everywhere and it freaked out Canadians. They were dominating low skill jobs which blocked young Canadians and students from employment, and cost the tax payer millions/billions in subsidized income and welfare for foreign workers. The Liberal government are idiots and incompetent at running the country, and now Trudeau is backpaddling to try to fix what he has broken. There have always been Indian migrants to Canada, but they must enter the proper way to apply for citizenship in manageable numbers. Indians must also understand that temporary workers and students does not mean you are Canadian citizens, and you will have to return home when your visa expires.

The only reason for me to choose Germany is ability to get residence permission in 3 or 5 years and keep original citizenship (I need 5 because I'm pretty sure I will not get C1 for 3 years). In terms of salary (I'm working in IT and have a 18+ years experience) I'd loose about 20% comparing to my original country, but living cost here +100% ))\nSo, we spent with my wife about 18k euros of our savings per year and started everything from scratch - it is hard but possible.\nHope I'll increase my salary later and we will not spend a lot on furnitures, appliences etc.\n+1 benefit: cycling all year round - almost no snow - Perfect!\nI didn't have problems with language in Dusseldorf - 90% speaks english, 10% or even more - russian (shops, banks, tax centers, burgerburo - no problems)

I came to Canada 18 years ago from South Asia and work really hard to be in a position where I’m now. I’m not opposed to the immigrant anyway but why almost all the immigrants will come from a particular region? I don’t even recognize this country anymore. Canadian morales are down. So many people came so fast instead of learning Canadian value they are imposing south asian problem in Canadian society. People in South Asia laugh at Canada, and called Canadian govt cute and innocent cause they believe what every temp/student put their application and blindly bring them in Canada. I know thousands of ppl came to Canada by tourist visa and then stay in Canada. Govt even giving them monthly allowance. And I’m paying thousands of dollars in tax. Basically I’m in the same level of a person who do not pay tax but enjoy all the luxury in Canada. It’s a fault of This govt.

Canada is the second largest country in the world in terms of area alone with a VERY small tax paying population. We only have 18 million taxpayers (remember the other half are children or senior citizens living on their pensions). We NEED immigrants to invest in businesses, to pay taxes, to work and do all the jobs we don’t have enough Canadians for. If we didn’t have immigrants, Canada would fall apart as our birth and death rates are low. We need to build more towns and cities or increase incentives for immigrants to move our dying out towns.

The real Germany (West Germany) is as described in the video. But paying taxes and knowing that someone in the east will get part of your earnings isn't something I'd subscribe to. Coz those in the East aren't Germans, but rather a mix of USSR and 3rd Reich citizens.

Unfortunately Germany is not a very attractive place for immigrants for the reasons the guy mentioned. The bureaucracy is incredibly frustrating and it's not only for immigrants. I got offered a job by a very well known multi international company here and they expected me to do the visa application by myself, because they haven't dealt with it before and evidently not enough information was readily available for them to take on the process. Those who are planning to come to Germany I would say spend a lot of time familiarizing yourself with how taxes will impact your salary. Insist on getting a dummy payslip with estimates of what your take home will be (because in Germany there are variables that could make an accurate estimate hard), research the average median expenses in the city or town you are moving to and be preperared to be the person who initiate contact with others. Learn the language which will make it easier to make friends (this will not happen over night as Germans by nature are not the warmest people), but in time yes. Find out whether your qualifications are comparable to those in Germany. You will be so surprise how many people don't do this check and waste their time doing courses that will not benefit them. I know it's incredibly hard to find out about this, like with everything else in this country, finding information on things isn't easy. You will need to speak to 4/5 different people, but it's worth it in the long run and saves you a lot of time.

The difference in the purchasing power of the currencies is brutal on working Canadians who pay very high taxes, but sweet for those going 'back home' on a very regular basis. Furthermore, new business start-ups are lower because the value of the currencies is so wide. Also, schools are 'used' as a gateway for permanently residency, another consequence of dysfunctional immigration policies. There has been no 'diversification' in immigration. It's not just unemployment but 'under' employment is a mega problem in Canada.

I am a third generation Canadian and i have been a successful investor and am a millionaire. Things are pretty great in Canada if you have money. I suppose leaving for a tax free haven is something to consider but people would be surprised how tolerable things in Canada are when you have money. For example, if the weather is too cold then go live in the Caribbean for a few months. If health care is a problem then go buy health care from private medical care or go to the US for healthcare. More people should try and become wealthy by taking advantage of how the financial pros operate on Wall Street. It is relatively easy but you do need to read a lot of reports and books. A lot of problems that people perceive in Canada go away when you have a bit of money.??

Young people , seniors who needs a few hours to make ends meet, people living outside cities, adults returning to work , uneducated but hard working folks , disabled people and others are unable to find work . I was imegrated 18 years ago to germany for study and recieved the blue card as well, but now i am thinking to leave because of very high taxes, very high health insurance costs...racism is not a problem for me, if you behave well you shouldn't face any issues in my opinion

The issue of economic hardship is inflation not immigration. Immigrates brought skill and resource and pay tax when living in Canada. I too will be gone from Canada soon. I loved Canada growing up. Now, not so much. Lately, I have my older brother move back to France and my 2 daughters NOT willing to stay in Canada (they hate the Canadian education system here)! My wife wants to fly back to France and so am I and we will as soon as we can!!!! As for me … I HATE the Canadian healthcare system (rigid and INEFFICIENT) with all its stupid waiting times and lack of humanity and transparency!!! In France NO ONE has to wait 6 years (I heard this many times from friends) for an operation or 15 weeks to see pediatrician!!! I have worked in Australia, Europe - UK and Germany before moving to the US for my master's degree and worked there for many years. Then moved to India and then to Canada. If you are a tech worker, there is no country in the world more accepting than the United States. Period. \nIn US, people respect your talent than what ethnic background or linguistic background you have. People are more tolerant and accepting, and even let you go up the ladder. Thats why many Indian CEO are leaving US companies while Americans don't mind. \nEuropeans and Australians are the most racist people I have encountered, who have little to no empathy even towards highly skilled workers paying heavy tax in their county. \nIt is better to work for your whole life in the United States on work visa, than living in Australia/Europe/Canada as their citizens.
