Canada is totally messed up......if you wish to become a Canadian citizen please think twice. \nCanada has been suffering from high inflation, housing issues, high interest rates, high crime rates and high cost of living overall. You can't make enough money to survive forget about saving.....\nDo yourself a favor and don't come to canada....

Wrong information. Students and new immigrants including work permits just pay 1000 dollars for 1 bedroom basement apartment in Toronto. Many Indian home owners give them rents at much lower price than the market rate which goes up to 1400 dollars a month but since they are Indians and new to Canada they give them for 1000 dollars a month. If students 3 people live in that, if families 2 people. Indian home owners do that for food cooking smells and other reasons. I see some new immigrants both working couple make up to 90k per year but still live in basement apartments for more than 3 years to save money. Indians are money saving people, do not want to spend money.

I'm surprised by how much everyone promotes moving to Nova Scotia, given the housing shortage that has led to exorbitantly high rents, a one-bedroom apartment in an old building costs 1,600, and in new building costs 3,500 per month. And for three people I pay 85 dollars of electricity every two months. Internet is 105 dollars per month. Professional salaries barely cover rent, food, and car expenses, as they are quite low, often ranging between $50,000 and $60,000 for positions requiring 5 to 10 years of experience, and sometimes even lower. Before you even see your paycheck, expect at least 30% to be deducted for taxes, as calculated by a Nova Scotia tax calculator. The healthcare system is struggling; last year, joining a list to be assigned a family doctor was estimated to take up to three years. For those seeking care at walk-in clinics, you must arrive before 7 am and wait in line; they only see the first 15 people, typically just on Mondays. If you're last, you might wait until noon or later to be seen. After working for 40 years, the pension is approximately $1,200, or less if you haven't worked the full duration with salaries over 60,000.
\n
\nI forgot to mention that prices in stores are without an additional 15% tax, you should add that to every product or service you purchase. If you want to go to a restaurant, an economical one, and buy a lasagna and something to drink, it will cost you at least 70 dollars. McDonalds and Tim Hortons, for three people, may cost 40 dollars, but it is your health.
\n
\nThe government is investing millions to attract students and new immigrants, making labor significantly cheaper for large companies. Individuals with low wages can't even afford the cheapest rent, resulting in some living in tents across cities and towns in Nova Scotia. With an annual inflation rate of 15% to 25%—and the official rate reflecting only a detailed list of products deemed as basic food items by the government—only the minimum wage is legally required to increase when deemed appropriate by the government. Other wages increase only if the employer decides to do so. How often do they do this out of kindness to their employees? That's a good question.
\n
\nYour work experience in other countries does not count. They want people with Canadian experience, so it is better to think you will start with a 35,000 salary per year. A house cost between 450,000 to 2,500,000. When are you going to save to pay for a house? The cheapest ones can be 200 years old. A 100 m2 apartment, new, not very elegant but nice, can cost more than 2 million dollars in downtown Halifax. People say it is due to money laundry, and for sure is not because the medium class is buying them.
\n
\nI have many friends, who graduated from Canadian colleges and universities that haven't gotten a job in their career even after four years of graduation... and the list is longer. Please, be honest with people

I am glad someone is honest about the problem.\n\nI'm surprised by how much everyone promotes moving to Nova Scotia, given the housing shortage that has led to exorbitantly high rents, a one-bedroom apartment in an old building costs 1,600, and in new building costs 3,500 per month. Every economy gets stronger with job creation. The problem in Canada is that taxes kept on increasing, the housing wasn’t developed adequately that skyrocketed the rents but the job market is just shrinking. Most immigrants from India are from Punjab who look for blue collar jobs but with high inflation they are not able to survive or save anything. So they don’t find it lucrative anymore. The new students should do their due diligence before coming otherwise they are going to struggle!

Taking money out from immigrants are great for local business, immigrants buy furniture, fly Air Canada, rent local houses, eat local restaurant. Canadians are taking all the saving from new immigrants, that is great. What is your concern ???

We also look to leave. With education and experience of 10 years in Canada, still cannot get jobs in my fields. Health care is terrible, food is super expensive, one salary covers rent, the other expenses. No future without saving.

You have to see what happened around the world, without going too far , the USA have a big problem with homelessness, 100 times more than Canada , obviously Canada is only 10% of the American population, our system in the hospital are treated in accordance to the grade of injuries the more severe are look after before your broken arm, over someone hurt in a car accident , so the attention goes to the more serious issues, but still you get care regardless how long you been waiting , unlike the USA sent you home if you don’t have health insurance, credit card , or cash to look after your problem , they will direct you to the emergency were you can wait for hours behind dozens of people waiting to see a doctor, some people had died waiting to see a doctor, our system is not perfect but nobody will let you died because you have no insurance ,money , or credit card , \nWhy people are leaving the country , is because the cost of living has skyrocketing to the point of no return , if you can only work to pay your rent and eat poorly, but with no possibility to save for the future it’s a wasting time to stick around ,and the people coming to Canada will find our system is not perfect and the image of Canada is tannish , but only people with highly educated will find they pathway to a high standards of living if you can make over 90.000 dollars and 180.000 for working couples in high demand

You want to know the worst part? The decrease isn't seen in the types of people that our immigration system was supposed to attract. Race, religion, all of that superficial crap should have remained separate from all of it, DEI trash. Merit. Merit should have remained the goal. Explain to me how we are saving the 'persecuted' when their predators walk in beside them. They are exposing our population to crime from across the globe and that POS is enjoying it.

I would return home if i wasn't sucked dry here with no resources to go back. Canada would become a third world country tomorrow if it wasn't for the immigrants brining their life savings to lose then work min wage jobs for the canadian business people (who fund both parties to bring more immigrants to repeat the cycle)\nIf you're middle class or higher at your home country, don't bother coming here. it's a downgrade.

As a former military officer in the RCN, Canada has become a dump. My native Iraq is a better place to live. And I will be leaving after 30 years in Canada. If you're a recent immigrant, save yourself the trouble and head back home. Believe me you will thank me 10 years down the road.

As an Indian who moved to study in Canada 5 years ago, It's the best decision I've made in my life. I work in tech and the money I make in a year in Canada, is what I'd make in 10 years in India. I save around 20-25 lakhs every year even after living my best life. Not sure what these news channels are on about.

In my opinion, if more people left Canada, it would reduce the load on housing , health , education and nature. 17% in 20 years is a drop in the bucket. we need more people to leave. The whole world needs a reduction in population to save this beautifull planet from certain doom..

Many people who have commented with negative sentiments are not really aware how it's elsewhere especially in poor countries. If someone is looking a basic life, definitely you can manage a job , basic amenities and lot of safety. If someone is looking good quality life with decent savings , that's possible provided if he or she take additional degree and start working in intermediate roles regardless of the business. Having certain specific religious background could help since this society gives lot of importance to your religious background, whether you believe it or not. I am not saying society is intolerant but admin is highly biased. Income tax is there in almost all OECDs, if you are still not liking it , well, you know who to elect next time .

what would save our healthcare system would be charging our immigrants a $5000 non refundable application fee. Citizens have been paying taxes for their whole life when immigrating grandparents that are likely to have ailments are moving here for free healthcare.

He completely eliminated any chance of her question to be answered in a way that promotes a positive outcome for the Palestinian people that might bring a solution using the help of other Arabs to help their fellow Muslims in their time of need. They just sit back and watch as Israelis are forced to provide food, water, fuel, etc. He is a hypocrite. Everyone knows Arabs don’t get along with other Arabs. So let them laugh at Israel now. It’s only a matter of time before the whole world knows who will be “saved” and who will not. Amen ?

I’m Canadian, my parents didn’t have $28k to give me to go to university. So I’m sorry these ppl think that going to school in Canada is some magic ticket to a successful career making great money, but why should Canadians feel bad for these ppl? Yes u were sold a lie, that North America is some magical land of hope, it’s not, there are millions of ppl in the west who can’t afford university, and have to work their entire lives as janitors and labourers with no savings for retirement, nothing to offer their children, I don’t feel bad thst these ppl are being mislead by Canadian universities, so are we, so many college and university programs are a scam,

I am planning to move to Canada by myself as a permanent resident and I am a software developer, I was wondering if tech industry related jobs are in good situation there ? Could I afford to live there comfortably If I live alone ? My goal is to get a job in Toronto, save up for couple of years and then buy a home in Hamilton ON with the help of mortgage? is this possible with the current situation of Canada? I would be glad if you could answer my questions, because I need to hear the perspective of an immigrate who is currently living there.

People of Palestine and Jews should accept Jesus Christ who is the prince of peace and you shall find peace in your land.Stop killing people. The world is ending and these are the endtime signs.\nPalestinians and Jews accept jesus Christ and He will bring peace upon your land.Jesus is the only way to peace and light.\nRomans 10:9-11\n[9]that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.\n[10]For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.\n[11]For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

NRIs are nothing but economic refugees . I lived in germany and was on blue card visa with pay upwards of 6000 euros a month but still came back to India with in two years could not see myself settling there , I pretty much save the same amount what I was saving there so there is absolutely no incentive for me to live in foreign land leaving all the facilities, maids , friends and family here . I feel for women it’s even harder especially who are housewives they will get depressed pretty fast and are nothing more than maids in foreign land .

To anyone reading this, Jesus Christ Loves you so much that He died for you to save you from eternal suffering, HE gave you a pass to not go through eternal suffering Because He loves you that much that He took it (all of your sins) to Himself on the Cross to again save you from eternal suffering and Death. All that you need to do is Believe in your Heart that Jesus Christ Died for your sins (all of it) and that He rose again on the Third day and you will be saved. And Hes calling you to a relationship with HIM so come to HIM. And people might say that you need to be clean (sinless) to come to HIM but thats not the case, if you come to HIM HE will do The work on transforming you and changing you. HE will give you HIS eternal Peace and Love and Grace and Joy if you come to HIM. GODBLESS you all whoever reads this May the Grace of GOD the Father and The Peace and Joy Of GOD be in your Hearts Amen!❤

International students ARE NOT driving up home prices or rent...that's a supply/demand issue (plus the lack of control government has on landlords and how much they can charge for a specific unit) and it's also a foreign buyer issue (yes Chinese foreign buyers, who buy homes in Canada but never move-in and use it as the home as a savings account). Not the international students problem, when the government of Canada DEMANDS THESE STUDENTS NOT WORK FOR MORE THAN 20 HOURS A WEEK and then watches them struggle to pay for rent (and therefore have to live 2 or 3 to a room)...yeah, don't blame the students. BLAME THE GOVERNMENT for bringing these students here, handicapping them by limiting their work hours (minimum wage at that) and then turning around and blaming them for why homes are ridiculously expensive and rent is unaffordable. Yeah, don't blame the government for it's inability to build homes...don't blame the government, instead, blame the minimum wage international student...it's going to be interesting if this actually brings DOWN rent prices and home costs. Which it won't, at which point, the government is going to be pointing fingers at someone else. Like they always do. LOL.
|
| 2024-01-20 | 0 |
Why is Canada bringing international students from a poor family...if they can't afford to live in Canada then they shouldn't be coming to Canada.?? It's simply math, bring enough money to pay for rent, food and tuition. ?♀?♂?\nIf you can't pay for rent...then go back home and save up more money...don't take jobs from avg. Canadians.
