Germany has a disconnect between the administration's understanding for the need at hand the people's sense of territory. The language disqualifies it as worth the hustle. Then there is the squeezed access to assimilating the language and culture. The longer you live here, the greater your desire to depart. The housing situation is daunting and I do not see why they dont make that a strong point for making germany a choice. Skilled labour is leaving because it never gets any easier when one has to always be reminded on their being foreign.

you stand last in the competition but speaks great German then your chances to get selected is 100 times higher than the person with adequate degree and more years of experience in the related field. Only concern for them is whether candidate can speak good German or not .If your metric is limited to one measure then this is bound to happen. Immigrants skilled manpower in your country is compelled to work in restaurants, warehouses, bakeries, just because they don't speak the fluent German .

Uncontrolled immigration is a problem everywhere in the western world. I live in the US, supposedly one of the best, and had to fight for a long time to get into my apartment. Ignoring legal immigrants, did you know that the US government creates programs where illegal immigrants get free housing?

I moved to Germany in 2018 after being selected in Brazil to get a Arbeitssuche-Visum as a high skilled worker. At that time it was very easy to get a job, it took me 2 weeks to find something that I liked. But the whole process after that to change my visa to a permanent one took more than 2 months and a lot of help from my contact on the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. After that first job, I changed 2 times already, always looking for a better position on my current skill set. My recommendation: learn the language! Even basic german can take you very far.

Hahaha this is the Guardian left leaning newspaper doing documentary on immigration, guess what the conclusion would be - more third world immigration?!? Most of the people I found that promote immigration are not the ones that really do anything to provide more infrastructure, they are the one that you can really do with out, some academics in the social sciences, career politicians, mostly pen-pushers. Have a look in UK who works in building sites and then look at people who are getting free housing, you need not look further to understand the unfairness and why people feel bitter. Importing people who produce many children is not the answer, unless you want future voting base.

Honestly, who cares? We have bigger problems with immigration mainly of international students who are making a mockery of the system. The ones who can read and write in English or French are fine. The problem lies within those from some regions of the world where they cheat the English testing requirments to get into school.

I find it hard to believe that these migrants are having an easier time getting into Canada than the US. I've been to Canada 6 times as an American tourist and except for my recent trip up there to see the eclipse, the officers always asked at least 4 questions about my trip and plans like where I'm staying and one time how much money I had. One time when I went they did that 'secondary inspection' where they look through my luggage and enquire about items (in my case several electronics which most people travel with). These people who are going to Canada probably have enough money for a typical weeklong trip and probably have hotel reservations, etc. Other things immigration officers ask often is what kind of work you do and when you are due to report back to work, as well as who you live with. They want to be sure you have ties back home.

Because life is hard in Canada...poor pay, no jobs, having 3-4 jobs but still cant meet one's basic needs, can't afford housing/can't pay rent, living at food banks in order to get basic food to eat, too many coming to live on welfare.... All of this is cause major mental health issues.

Hey! I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada,population around 1.2 million. We have a huge awesome river and river valley that is utilized year round. There are non stop festivals, right now we have the Cari West the largest Caribbean festival in western Canada. Our tap water is amazing, my daughter rents the main floor of a renovated house that includes a garage for 1,400 a month. Gorgeous south side neighbourhood within walking distance to anything. Lots of imperfections as it is a big city and yes there is crime but it does not define what I do and where I go except possibly late at night. The cold in the winter is tolerable for the most part but that doesn’t stop any one from outdoor activities. Just put your warm clothes on and just get out there. I get fed up with winter when it drags on but all of a sudden we’ve been having record breaking heat this summer so I am looking forward to Autumn. We’re 4 hours from the fabulous Rocky Mountains and the wonderful city of Calgary is about an hour 1/2 from there. Alberta is my province and Edmonton is my home. The rest of Canada varies from one province to another. PS. We’ve travelled to various locations in the U.S. and were always treated well and enjoyed our visits, just sayin!

I wished to move to Canada 12 years ago. I am American. I was told that I needed a job and that job NEEDED to be filled. This would allow me to move there. I didn't move. Now with the migration crisis, too many immigrants at one time will overload the system and overpopulate a country. I fear with the climate crisis constantly reshaping our futures, that immigration will be an ongoing problem for the entire world. I believe countries must plan for even more immigration waves due to climate change. The Earth is changing...people will be moving to save their lives, to have a future. As human beings we must adapt to these pressures and changes in our planet. Make it livable, or else face the consequences of seeing millions of people die because you were unwilling to open your borders. There is room, just get rid of the greed. This planet , its peoples,must find ways to live together. Education, to keep the planet healthy, stop overpopulation, keep the air and water clean...stop the greed are the goals we must strive to follow.

As an Indian i agree with Canadians as students were not promised the PR , they were only promised study visa. And to get pr in canada one must put in a lot of work and be eligible doesn't matter from where the immigrant came, protest won't change anything

Its clear they don't like Africa. Its clear they don't like Europe. If Canadians are unhappy about immigration, that literally means it’s an indisputable scientific fact that there are immense issues with our system. The dark and disgusting side of this that doesn’t get talked about is how many newcomers leave shortly after spending everything they have to boost our GDP before they realize they’ll never get the opportunity or life they were promised here. Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

I was going to say the immigrant only thing is one thing on TOP of the INSANE pricing... you gotta be a girl working and can't have ANY vice or plan on having ANY kind of life or freedom even though you pay to live there, even working a full time job you will be struggling and majority of these lower rent places were great and usually always been for students no matter what your sex or where you are from to which if you are getting government money to attend school you can only work a certain amount of hours with that funding for school being BARELY enough to get by and forget about it if you have disability you get slightly more but NO landlord wants you if you have disability.... Landlords need to be stopped and controlled.

Unfortunately the claim of racism is what immediately shuts down any real discussion of this issue.\n\nThe fact of the matter is housing prices are FAR too high. And while there are certainly main contributors, one cannot simply ignore the area of supply and demand. Too many people looking for too few locations to live. It doesn't get more basic than that.\n\nThe PROBLEM is our economic growth numbers are DEPENDANT on immigration, and if we just cut immigration the numbers will plummet and foreign investment will tank. We'd dug this hole for ourselves by voting in leaders that rely on immigration to prop up what is fundamentally a very weak economy.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. No one wants their poverty, poverty is not a qualification for anything, except abuse and suffering. Brampton crime rates are 30% lower than the national average Violent crimes in Brampton are 27% lower than the national average - Just saying. As one who live next to Brampton, I don't see any issues there. Walking around Brampton is fine.. it was WAY worse in the 80s. The crime rate has been dropping each year over the last 20 years. First of all these are not refugees as most of their countries are considered safe and they have also crossed many safe countries on their way to Europe. The only true refugees to Europe were the Ukrainians as European countries were the first safe countries they could reach. These are economic migrants who chose their destination by the benefits they will be given. These are also people no one in the world wants. Just because you want a better life doesn’t mean anyone has to help you get it.
