I was actually thinking about moving to Canada. But the last few months and countless videos of people getting the hell out of there has put me right off. The whole Western world is in free fall and those in current power seem hell bent on bringing us all back to serfdom in a weird one world government which seems to be the way things are heading. I've been here (Canada) all of my life, and I would not want to live anywhere else on this planet. Everywhere has its pluses and minuses, and things will eventually turn around. As for you, this is great, you're young, the nature/definition of work has drastically changed since I was your age, so yes, I whole heartly agree, go out and make your mark, explore and enjoy what the world has to offer.

On top of that you have to pay for daycare for little kids ( if you lucky enough to find even a place ). Schools are fuller than full. Inflation became unbelievble high. Owning a house? Forget it. Try London England, you’ll find it’s 3-4 times more expensive than Toronto. Europe and North America. But Canada isn’t as bad as many places. But then again, I’m not a quitter. The best way to survive is getting a good education and a stable and high in demand career. I lived for 8 years in Canada and then moved to Singapore three years ago. That was the best decision I ever made. I came back to Toronto this year, and was completely shocked by the cost of living, the drug problem on the street, and the huge amount of immigrants from one single country taking over the whole Canada.

All the best ! I am Canadian, but left in 2012 and have lived in Johannesburg, Dubai, and now Hong Kong ever since. Many lessons learned, dealing Canada Revenue Agency as a non-resident tax payer isn’t fun. Getting silly administration done, like renewing passport abroad, and keeping a darn Drivers License. I moved to Germany in 2018 after being selected in Brazil to get a Arbeitssuche-Visum as a high skilled worker. At that time it was very easy to get a job, it took me 2 weeks to find something that I liked. But the whole process after that to change my visa to a permanent one took more than 2 months and a lot of help from my contact on the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. After that first job, I changed 2 times already, always looking for a better position on my current skill set. My recommendation: learn the language! Even basic german can take you very far.

Whole world seems to know English. Germany should make English as a co working language. It will help people who are immigrants and solve the skilled workers problem.

When my parents came to canada 25yrs ago from Korea, they had to bring in millions of dollars and create at least two full time jobs. The whole process took a bit over 3 yrs. I don’t get how new comers are so easily accepted.

Canada is one of the best countries to live in, i have to say, people complain about inflation, increased rents etx tell me where in the world its not there? The whole world is expensive. Yes canada is more expensive unnecessary however I don’t think leaving this country can benefit!

When you save money for retirement, the govt takes your pension. When you try to save money from each paycheque, the inflationary prices of groceries/gas/utilities takes it away. If you need to go to a hospital or doctor visit, you have to wait months or can only settle for the most basic of services. If you try to own real estate, there's always some scheme to steal your money either by jackal tenants or the new capital gains tax. 40 to 50 hours a week? I work that in Australia as an Australian. Indian universities aren't necessarily recognised overseas. Even then I've worked with many as engineers and got uber rides from many just as an example. Different cultural system. people are confused. Immigration is Not the problem, accepting immigrants without money/ investment/skills is the problem. If u only accept highly educated individual or someone who can bring/invest a sum of money in your country, then immigration is a positive move considering the current population of most countries are declining with a lot of senior citizens.\n\nThe money these legal immigrants invested will help boost the economy of the host country, create jobs and etc.\n\nSolely blaming housing price because of the influx of immigration is not the whole picture, if the host country can establish a strict system of requirements for the immigrants to meet, and cap the number of immigrants per year, immigration can be a positive for the host country.\n\nAn army of Uber delivery immigrants will only pull the country productivity down because they need a place to stay and they cant contribute much to the society, thus, the housing price going up.

I know its anecdotal, but i feel like its probably the norm.\n\nI lived in Canada my whole life, i visited the states and lived there for a few months for a job.\n\nThe amount of violence, gun or otherwise, is night and day. In the U.S. you could have a gun pulled on you in a grocery strore, on the highway, in the park, at the bar...\n\nIn canada, you could walk an entire city, late at night, completely alone, and the odds of someone hurting you in anyway at all is like single digit %. In the U.S, you arent making it 2 blocks without trouble.\n\nIt is mind boggling how dangerous it feels to just be in the states then it does in Canada. Until you have experienced both, you just cant understand how wildly different just this 1 aspect is.
