Wait what are you talking about right to shelter offering generous housing to anyone who asks?! Because I live in Atlanta and my son is homeless in Charlotte and he was homeless in Atlanta and all I see are homeless people lying all over the streets! I'm sure they've asked for housing but they're not getting any! What the f*** is going on!!!! Corporate Canada loves open door immigration. Lot's of workers keep the cost of labour down and the working class in fear of losing their jobs.

The only solution to this is government should freeze bringing immigrants and pathway for students to become immigrants for few years until Canada overcomes with it's own poverty. Majority of people do not have a standard life in Canada now. Canadian born children have hard time to find jobs and their future is uncertain now. The government says we need immigrants to fill the jobs left by retiring boomers. Millennials, plus GenX ers out number Boomers so there are lots of people out there to fill jobs. Corporations like Mac Donalds, Tim Hortons etc. want immigrants so they can keep their costs low and make even more money.

You can use those people to build THE housing they need... But wait that's against the benefit of house owners. and who are they? the same people who open the doors. There's jobs for all. It's not about immigration.

I am 45 I lost my job! Now I can't find any work 1 year been looking. Never had this issue before. Too many international students taking over the jobs most not even going to school working full time jobs

I hear from news, they will close all sanctuary cities across US in 2025, massive deportation start in 2025, taxes hike 4x in 2025 than 2024, including the price of the food & rent. A lot of US citizens can not afford to live for daily basics, it is mean don't have enough money to live. For illegal aliens they get support from our government to live like a king & a queen, live in 5 stars hotels in NY, free money, free health care, free phone, get a job under the table, etc. What guys think about that?

Canada should adopt policies like those of small countries like Norway and Switzerland. Don't be deceived by Canada's map as only the area upto 100 km north of US border should be considered habitable. Canadian economy does not create as many jobs as required for all the immigration that is happening.

Because Canadian born students with exceptional grades have difficulty accessing post secondary money first institutions perhaps? Or when non-canadian born immigrants purchase a gas station and purge the canadin born kids and hire one race? Or when non-canadian born managers only hire from their ethnic group in security jobs? We live in a post immigration society. There's numerous people here now. Jobs are becoming automated and AI will change the job market in the years to come.

I don’t think it is anti immigration in general, it is more anti Indian immigration. Look at Brampton and many other parts of Ontario and BC Almost no diversity in some cities. It doesn’t feel like Canada. Every Tim Hortons, truck drivers, many Indian international students, gas stations. Look at the job fairs, mostly Indians. What happened to diversity.

International student study here n leave once it’s done , we already have local graduates and they are looking for jobs , simple .

I think the real reason are:\n\n1. Refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Asylum seekers from Africa.\n2. Foreign investment in housing was allowed until 2022 which played a major part in prices going up.\n3. 1+ Million International students allowed in 3 years.\n4. Average Canadian doesn't want to work a minimum wage job, especially now working with foreign people.\n\nBlaming one government, country or race wont help. A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. There’re people who came here to study & love to contribute their knowledge & skills to the world. Thank you.

The Canadian government is at major fault here. I don’t know if you canucks are aware of the advertisements your government airs in other countries? Well they promise to give any immigrant a quick route to citizenship and employment once they arrive in your country. Unfortunately once they get there nothing is true on those advertisements. There’s even professionals with degrees from north, central and south America working construction jobs because their degrees are not accepted due to academic prerequisites not being met whatever that means.

7:35-8:00 its both the lack of a national housing strategy and the flood of immigrants that are the cause of the problem with all the cheap labor coming in from India Wages are being suppressed and the lack of federally funded geared to income housing makes the situation untenable. How can people afford 3k+ a month rent when most unskilled jobs barely pay 2k. Wages can't rise to cost of living levels if Walmart and every fast food joint can have all their staffing needs met by exclusively hiring international students and TFW's

Ironically, the current system is very unfriendly to well educated, relatively wealthy potential immigrants with valid job offers and skill set confirmed by the Canadian authorities to be beneficial for the economy. Being such person, I've been trying to move there for a year now and am on the brink of giving up.

All the activity and jobs are concentrated within 3-4 cities in Canada. Majority of these immigrants end up in these cities and with the population exploding the infrastructure/facilities are not able to accommodate this sudden exponential growth... Government needs to develop and improve the Tier2 cities so people spread out...

I have been (mostly) a life long Liberal living in Toronto. I can honestly say, the Trudeau Liberal government has been the worst government at any level I have lived under - including Mike Harris and Bob Rae. Justin Trudeau likes to cut ribbons and make big announcements and spend time on the completely wrong priorities for Canadians. We need a government focused on the economy and the things it takes to build a thriving 21st century economy. Yes, it takes immigrants and those people will need the basics: a job, food, shelter and services. Instead we get dental care, pharm care, daycare - all these things we can't afford and that do very little to build out a thriving economy we need. We have lost decades due to poor planning of our governments and now we all must suffer. It will take generation to fix this, meanwhile our competing countries will all pass us. I will rue Justin Trudeau and his incompetent Ministers and enablers for the rest of my life.

I am an immigrant from the USA. The problem in Canada is you have 36, 000, 000 million people that has to support the infrastructure and size of 2 large nations. There are no industries being born in Canada. Most jobs are govt, education, and other Union-Based jobs. Solve the industry problem, and you will solve your other problems.

Do not come to Canada. It's a Dictatorship here!!!! No jobs. No housing. No doctors. Prices ae out of control!
