The process for Visa and the backup documents is pretty transparent and available at the country's or VFS website. I have been travelling to Europe and my visa has not been rejected. But I still do see a lot of people not understanding the process, documentation required. The documentation is usually about proof of stay, proof of travel and proof of financial strength. Please do not talk about the 5th largest economy. We are 143rd in GDP per capita. Among the illegal immigrants into USA India ranks third, to the UK it ranks 9th and is a significant number into the EU. With immigration a hot topic in the west today, this was inevitable.

You are mistaken Ms Palki. This is not true. Every where Indian passports are welcome without problem. India is the global power, strongest and fastest growing economy and a military power everyone fears.

All this hype about 5th largest economy does not impress the person @ the concerned foreign embassy who decides your fate. This is the same with Pak, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka. its because they are racist... imagine US, UK, etc grants no visa on their former enemies (like Japan) but demands for visa entry for their former colonies? you cant deny that these former imperialists sees former colonized countries as lint and does not contribute to their economy.... they stole billions of dollars in the past and at they could've grant visa free entry to their former colonies as a way of compensation to the damages that they've made in the past but they didnt.. and when war broke up, they'll ask from these former colonized countries for some soldier to be on the frontline for them because they were allies.. until now they still do some exploits to colonized counties in some other way like establishing manufacturing plant or some establishment hiring cheap labor from these countries, and when you want to visit to these counties they will automatically deny you.. On some point, China gives a better option. They will welcome you with open arms (although they will take advantage of you) but at least you can visit their country easily.

what matters is per capita income and gdp per capita. Boasting of being 5th largest economy by comparing GDP of 1445 million population with countries of 70 million is nonsense. Its shows how pathetic Indias skill and productivity is. IT services have done very well but its such small proportion of the population (5 million employed in IT out 1445 million, even here only top 10% maybe making good money )

It's not about being the world's 5th largest economy. It's about reputation in the society and honesty India has lost it, due to its damaged law system, uneducated people spitting around pan masala and guthkha, dropping garbage from balconies on the street, raping and murdering women and also doctors, and at the end no one is getting justice. Indians need to get out of the cocoon that they are a great nation with 3. trillion dollar economy, 100% of them has a passport but 99% of that economy is held by merely 1%. rest of the world can nevere position the passport according to the 1%.

Indian Economy is still a generation away to develop i guess is 25=30 years, till then people try to move to countries where they can earn more money.

No need to worry. These issues are transitory and our people need not go to USA. USA companies are planning to move operations to India to hire skilled people. So, jobs comes to our cities. In the long run, it helps us. Our people work in our country and pay taxes to us. Now they are going to USA and paying 35% income tax to USA government. In addition to that, they spend a lot on their monthly expenses. If the Visas are closed and jobs are outsourced to India, it helps our economy a lot. Just be patient
