Very discouraged podcast for people who have worked hard here , this is just a view point from one perspective, think about that how people who are like earning minimum wage in canada are not living a deprived life as more of the population live in india , we all come from a good background in india , but everyone desrves a good life that is not avaible in india , the people from remote villages in india , can stand up to the level of people working in Multinationals in india basically there is huge gap status in india which leads to so many problems overall , very very negative perspective of these ladies . Very disappointing.

one of my friends same way came to Canada from Newzealand, and now he went back, the same way another friend from Germany came on PR and went back to India due to he got good opportunity, I was a software project manager in India and my wife was a professor in engineering college having a degree of Ph.D. in computer science but facing trouble to get right job in Newfound land. so we met so many PR newcomers in last 6 months and herd same story like us so moral of the story for others is ,please be aware about expenses , cost of living and hidden costs .

The truth is that medical and other costs are exorbitant in Canada . Also medical facilities in India are very advanced now. However the most important factor is that there is no country on the planet like India. And now with a modern booming India who would want to leave its shores. Finally, the education system in India is far far superior to Canada. For seniors Canada can be a living nightmare.

Now we are staying in London for last 5months at our Daughter's home as she had expecting to deliver in March 2023. Here Government work to make life of the citizens easy and in India Government work to make the life of citizens miserable. Here road, transport, cleaning is managed properly, but in India total mismagement. We have everything in India. Good climate, good food, mountains, rivers, sea, Ice, but due to polytitics and corruption we have made India to live unbearable and our new generation doesn't find future and leaving India for best future for themselves and their children, but that don't understand that though they get British citizenship they are not British they are outsiders. You wanted freedom from British so you fought for freedom and now when you got your freedom you are leaving India and want to settle in their Country and want British Citizenship.

We visited the USA ( California, Ohio, MD ) and Canada (Toronto) some 7 times during the last about 11 years, and loved these countries. But I would still I would like to live in india only, mainly because we love Indian vegetables, fruits, food items and our home life in India.

Forget parents, even many immigrants are unhappy in Canada. Every time I run into an Indian who has studied or lived in US he is frustrated. 2 people in my team received their Canadian citizenship and have started trying for positions in US. 3 white Canadians in our company moved to US in last 2 year itself.\nCanada is not a great country from parents. It's cold, white and depressing throughout. Many parents can stay for relatively longer in California or Texas where there is vibrant community and weather is very much like India. I lived for 10 years of life in snow before moving to Canada - Massachusetts, North Carolina and Virginia. I just 2 winters, I feel depressed in Canada as it's white for 4 to 5 months.

Canada is for those who come here when young and grow old here.\n\nI am one of those.\n\nWhen I first came here I didn’t like it but as time passed I started admiring all that was different and better from India.\n\nParticularly now, living here and watching, from afar, what is happening in India, I am grateful I am here.\n\nHow do ordinary folks in India handle the every day hassle of traffic, public transit, cost of living, water shortages, cuts in electricity supply, racial inequalities etc. etc.\n\nThe major problem of parents coming over here is that they are dependent on their children for everything (if you are living in the suburbs particularly) be it companionship, transportation, finances (with the exchange rate for Indian rupees, you will start feeling the pinch of it soon) etc.\n\nIf you are here for a short period, bond with your kids, grand-kids, make the most of it and head back home, is my humble advice to parents visiting.

One of things that I learnt 33 years ago when I moved to USA was not to convert the money because you won’t be able to eat. I sponsored my mother almost 20 years ago and she didn’t enjoy living here because of her life and friends back home. It was very difficult to move here especially when you are in your fifties and especially if you aren’t working. One of the things that aunties are exaggerating is about the cost of the restaurant, I have never eaten in a restaurant that cost $400 for 4 people, even some of the best steak restaurants don’t cost that much. Final thing when they compare the Malls of Canada with India with limited supplies actually the malls here carry sizes that are not even available anywhere in the World. I do respect their views.

This problem of missing India is more in Canada and Some part of USA and Europe where 7-8 months weather not supporting and very cold , but if you live in Southern side of USA or South part of continent, seniors have more outdoor life, Fresh vegetables, Fruits are more tasty.....I lived in Canada for 22 years and Florida 2 years,.....I feel big difference because in cold country Indian people are more nervous

Finally the truth about this ruthless business of making money off poor kids who are sold a dream of good life and send to live a life which is actually a nightmares. I was a student in Canada and seen this first hand. Students packed in rooms and colleges cancelling semesters for new students. This is all true. Even the best colleges do that. Every Indian who wants to go to Canada take this as a warning plz. The UK is pretty much like Canada, now. There is only room for the 5% who are rich (the capitalists & rentiers) and the 35% of people on Benefits (the 35% of population who live off welfare paid for by the State using the hard-working tax payer's money). The honest, hard-working middle-class (about 50 to 60% of society) are absolutely screwed and doomed, because all they can now do is keep working their guts out till they drop dead, and never hope to have a decent life. The culture of state-funded Welfare has now gotten so bad that I now live in a street where some 30% of the people who live off Welfare have been given State funded houses, and those houses which are bigger and better than mine (all paid for using my tax money). And I have slogged my entire life (I am 65 now) to pay off a large mortgage on a house that eventually has lower value than the houses that people on Welfare are given on the same Street! Worse still, now that I am approaching the stage where I might need to go into a Care Home, my house (which I worked for my entire life to attain) will have to be sold off to pay for my Care Home costs. While my neighbours who never worked a single day in their life (and whose life was subsidized using my tax money) will again get free state-funded Care Home facility too! It utterly beggars belief. \n\nWhen state-funded Welfare gets to a point that doing an honest day's work actually penalizes you, because all you are doing is funding the lifestyles of the other half of society who wish to sponge off State Welfare (due to the high taxes the Government is forced to impose on the working middle-class to support the 35% on State benefits), then that society can never prosper, firstly because it removes the motivation to work hard, and secondly because some day the Government will run out of money to continuing funding the lavish lifestyles of people on State Welfare. And that is very much now the state of affairs in countries like Canada, the UK, and much of EU. It is an unsustainable model. \n\nBy contrast, in countries like the US, China, India, etc. there is a much greater correlation between hard work and reward. Choosing to not go to work and sponging off Governmental welfare is simply not an option. And that is precisely why countries like these will continue to prosper in the coming years - because they have some form of Meritocracy. Unfortunately, I think countries like the UK, Canada, and most western EU countries are looking at a downward spiral, and there are no easy solutions, because their Welfare model has already created these huge segments of society which depend on it and will not allow it to be demolished - but the day is fast approaching where they will all soon run out of money to continue funding it (most of these countries are already facing huge Debt-GDP ratios, and there is no conceivable way of them coming out of it).

Roxham Road is now closed. Anyone who gets to the United States will now have to stay in the United States. These people aren't coming to Canada because they have nowhere else to, they're coming because they prefer to live in Canada over anywhere else. That does not constitute a necessity as their lives are no longer in danger once they leave their homes in South America, Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

Do yourself a favour and stay in the US. Trust me, you will regret picking Canada. Our shelter costs here are absurd and we have a government that flirts with communism. They are running towards a different kind of poverty here. Some of the places they are running from (mexico), economically have potentially brighter futures than here. The kids might be kicking the parents for this when they get older and see the places where they came from, have better standards of living than the place they fled too. India included, they have the potential to become an economic power house. We hardly produce anything here, and our government chokes off our natural resource exports. We have too big of government, too many regulations, too many taxes. Who would do business in Canada? Name a Canadian company other than shopify. Blackberry... Oh wait its dead. Let’s use migrants and help them out, immigrants can do all the labor-intensive and poop work so our healthcare workers can focus more on the health of the patients. We will also all receive better care at the hospital. \n \nUS companies and foreign companies are building factories in India or in Mexico when the same workers are at our doors. Let's build them here in the USA and we English speakers will have to manage them unfortunately since that’s the language of the Country. If you speak Spanish and English, you are going to have many jobs. \nEverything important should be made in America with all these workers. We can all have our own factories and business and exploit cheap labor flocking to our Great Country. We must use this to our advantage while it lasts. \nCheap labor we can Build houses that are affordable. Fix all the infrastructure we have been crying about. \n \n5. If War we're ready! \nIf we ever have another World War first one to go are minorities and poor people so, not only does it provide us with a bigger army, but you might not be first to get drafted. Not only that but because we have immigrants we would have stronger ties to those immigrant countries which can come in handy later. That is still better than living in india. Quality of life in india is horrible. A single room apartment in india can easily cost between 25000-35000 in cities like pune , Bangalore, hyderabad and Mumbai. Mumbai is the most expensive. Salaries is so bad that an average person simply cannot have any dreams. Also many apartment in india which are rented don't even have gas so cooking food at home is not an option. Quality of food outside is horrible and also expensive. Water is of bad quality as well. So many things in india are actually more expensive than canada for example- phones , laptops, cars , fuel , protein supplements, real estate. My parents don't have enough money to send me to canada. So many times Living in india actually makes me wish I was never born. It's been years since I have stopped celebrating my birthday. Just existing and continuing to live because if I end my life who will take care of my mom and dad.

I lived in India because my parents did not have the money to send me abroad. I am supposed to travel to Canada in another 5days with a work permit offered from my current employer in India with a salary which is above average in Canada. As an experienced professional worked in Indian IT market for more than 7 years, I want the Indian students to know that if you are planning to work in core subjects like mechanical, civil, electrical or electronics, only then you should consider this difficult option. Otherwise in India, there is a massive shortage in the IT & Software market. With 5+ years of experience, with right skill you can earn 30-40LPA easily. So be careful before putting your life & your parents' only means of survival at risk.

Educated and professional Canadians are desperately trying to move to the US, including my wife, myself, my direct manager and two of my coworkers, but even with TN visa it is tough. Taxes are really high here, rent is expensive, good luck finding a daycare, we are working poor people here, job market is small and very competitive since Canada brings many highly educated professionals from everywhere (India, Pakistan, China, etc) it is hard to build a descent career, and most of all Canada has long and dark winters. I pray every day to have a possibility to move to the US, save some money, maybe buy a house with a 3-4 bedroom (which will never ever happens in the city where I live in Canada).
