I say this with a great deal of cynicism but I don’t think we will be able to halt mass immigration, and the reason is old people. Old people vote, and they have money. Politicians respond to the people with money. My parents are in their 80’s and they spend $7000 per month on their retirement home. I’m renting an apartment because I can’t afford a home in Victoria. The cheapest house here sells for $700,000. And so I’ve no intention of getting married or having kids. It’s clear to me that this is happening all over Canada. The death rate exceeds the birth rate. There is something odd about this state of affairs. Immigrants are pouring into the country and moving into multigenerational houses. They’re getting married and raising kids. Two or three generations live together under one roof. Meanwhile, the picture is different with white Canadians who have been here over a hundred years. Older, white Canadians are spending $7000 per month on assisted living retirement homes. Their children are single and renting apartments. We are living in clown world.

Why is Pierre afraid of the immigrant issue? I think - that they will all be labeled of being racists because they don't want other cultures and more people in the country. That's what it is. Part-time burger flippers, coffee pourers, cashiers, etc... are excellent jobs for teenagers to learn and earn money and move up from there. Back in the late 70s and 80s into the early 90s, retail jobs were an excellent supplement income for a family and or single person because it was worth it - today, not so much.

Irony is all these people who are getting interviewed are first and second generation immigrants as well. This can be a difficult subject . The bottom line is if immigration is done only to achieve votes for one party or another its not good. This is wrong. If the immigrants are legal and not being used for political purposes then this is helpfull . But we should also encourage our own birth rate and maintain a employed productive propers population . Increasing tax revenue to support social welfare medicine and food shelter and protection. A larger employed population will allow taxes to be lower psychologically employed people are productive happy confident . This should be our aim not political agendas. I never voted for Trudeau. EVER! And before you think I am a CP supporter, I am not. I am not a Conservative. Yet when he came to power I knew it would be a disaster for this country. As an older citizen of a country of the global west this not what I, nor I suspect most of us, voted for or hoped for as our future. Then there are those immigrants who refuse to integrate and want us to change to suit them. That cannot stand. Those are people who have to go. We, of the global west, are learning that all cultures and religions are not the same, some are substandard and have no place in what was civilized societies.

OK, there is NOTHING any politician can do about the real estate market. The people who can don't want to ... there is too much money being made. Billions and billions are pouring in from outside of Canada as the rich look for safe havens to squirrel their money away. Realtors make tons of money satisfying the highest bidder. Banks have an endless stream of mortgage revenue and investors earn returns on their money. Now, if you vote in communists, I say that without prejudice, they could freeze rents, build low-rent apartment buildings, freeze interest rates, limit gains on the resale of residential housing, block foreign ownership on and on. The last people to have any interest in fixing this will be any party on the right.

I'm South Asian. My sister used to live in Brampton actually before the whole invasion began. Good thing she saw the writing on the wall and left. Sad thing is, many can not differentiate the browns who have immigrated pre 1990 and the ones who have come in post-pandemic. The ones coming in post-pandemic are the village trash, entitled, and snobby. Those people are the very same reasons we left our countries to begin with. As an immigrant and now a proud Canadian citizen I firmly believe that Canadians comes first. Full stop. This whole issue falls not just on these students but also on the feds who abused the international education route to bring in more people and make it lenient so they get more votes and keep winning elections but it backfired. This happened in the UK about 10 years ago. All these fake immigration consultancies and mediocre colleges should be shut down so these folks don't throw all their money into this hoping to get a PR. i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?
