I think immigration in Canada supports certain countries, more than others. That is not fair, also I don't believe so healthy low-wage workers. Why not bring doctors, nurses, and engineers who really cover the needs of the country.

Not once has the word inflation been mentioned in this video, which the sharp rise of cost of living is largely to be blamed. Printing money always exacerbate the rich poor dichotomy. If the government decides to cut down on immigration, we'd have to address the issue of declining birth rate and drop in productivity as a nation. Manufacturing jobs are either underpaid or outsourced to developing nations due to globalization. In order to get a decent job, we are now staying in school longer than ever. for instance, as an aging society, we need immigrants to be our nurses, and doctors which drastically improve our standards of living. I disagree that cutting down immigration will sort out all of our economical issues.

I need assistance regarding a situation with an immigration agent. I processed a PR application for Canada through an agent who initially requested an advance of 3 lakhs Nepali Rupees (approximately $3,000). He claimed this was a security deposit required for an interview and insisted it was necessary. Initially, he quoted the total cost of the process as about 25 lakhs Nepali Rupees (more than $25,000). Later, he informed me that due to changes in the system, the cost had risen to 45 lakhs Nepali Rupees. Without prior notice, he arranged a PR interview through a consultancy named Bright Canada Immigration. Unable to afford this amount, I canceled the interview and requested a refund of the security deposit. The agent then told me the deposit was non-refundable because he had already paid a lawyer for the interview.\n\nWhat should I do next?

I am reading the comments and it seems like most people commenting didn’t actually take the time to listen to the interview. He is calling out the government out for political and reactionary changes based on sliding poll numbers as opposed to a coherent immigration policy. He specifically says that this government allowed certain sectors to get addicted to temporary foreign workers. These changes are political as this government is more concerned with political survival than the needs of Canada and Canadians.

It is mostly the fault of the incompliant and corrupt Liberal government for the massive influx of unskilled India workers/students. Under previous sane governments, there were manageable caps that controlled the influx and allowed for proper immigration of vetted and skilled workers, but the Liberals stopped properly vetting people and basically opened the flood gates. For a Canadian company to hire foreign workers, they used to have to prove there were no Canadian workers to do that job, so foreign workers were mostly used in seasonal agriculture work, but due to very shady government deals with big corporations Trudeau approved paying wage subsidy and turning a blind eye to Canadian workers so Singh Hortons (and many other big businesses) could have workers for a cut rate and the government tax dollars paid up to 70% of wages and welfare. Also Foreign workers think they can stay here once their visa's expire, refusing to leave. There is simply no need for Canada to bring in over a million Indians that are in hard times in their own country. Our welfare or culture can't stand it. Not sure if you missed it or not, but India's foreign minister at the start of summer, thanked Trudeau for taking all their criminals, and low caste people. But People need to follow proper immigration policy, and not buy a ticket to Canada from a India scammer guaranteeing citizenship, which has been the case as well. See you are a respectful and good citizen who we would have no problem welcoming to Canada. It's the others who are ignorant and who do not respect our countries culture. If you plan to immigrate you must respect our culture and act as nice or nicer than the reputation us Canadians have. The reason we are upset with some Indians is they have no respect. Some of them throw their garbage everywhere on the streets on the beaches on our walkways. I get in India the culture there may allow you to throw garbage in the streets and lakes and rivers. We do not do that here. Either way something has to change the government needs to fix this problem they created. Also why did they allow so many Indians what about Immigrants from other countries? It seems like all they did was mass import people from India. They can hardly even speak English. No disrespect I am just saying from someone who was born in Canada and whose parents grandparents and great grandparents and beyond were all born in Canada how we feel the way our country is being disrespected. Mass immigration is responsible for this situation. The governments huge lack of any sense of what the country wants or sense what so ever. Deportation and a slow down of immigration to match the housing market is needed.

we needed it , too many companies in my trade use the LMIA program soooo much and now it's getting hard to find a job in my industry as it's full of immigrants, building is slowing a bit and now way too many here wanting the same jobs, plus all the labour pimps pay them less and are able to undercut us ruining wage growth

Coming to Canada for an education does not, and should not guarantee permanant residency in Canada. Not our problem if anyone assumed different. We need to stop allowing the influx of low skilled immigrants. We need doctors; nurses, engineers, tradespeople, etc..we have enough uber/skip the dishes drivers, sandwich artists, and baristas. Our youth can't even find jobs because of the amount of low skilled immigrants we bring in, and the amount of temporary foreign workers we allow.

I love my second gen immigrants Indians and they're parents the immigrated properly, not coming in as students and demand PR and don't want to leave. No houses. No jobs. These students smash cars, have 0 manners, throw garbage on streets, 20 in homes, increased crimes and total disrespect to citizens that have lived here for generations. We need these types to have respect towards Canada, other immigrants, citizens...this isn't Vegas where you party without guidance and parents. Yeah, I agree with you, I have friends that are Indians and never had a problem. If the liberal government had made sure that we had the number of houses to accept all these immigrants and they brought in the people we need and not trouble makers we wouldn't be seeing this problem. Canada has been too soft on its immigration policies. It's high time they stop these nonsensical student visas and send back these students after they finish their education. They just come here to get a permanent residency buy hook or by crook. Also, Canada needs to send back the refugees who have scammed their way into Canada. It's to scapegoat the vulnerable for the poor decisions made by those in charge. Birthing tourism, drugs brought into Canada by Asian cartels resulting in soaring housing prices, illegal Asian migrants from USA who cross the Peace Arch border looking like tourists, bring in tens of millions of immigrants who don't meet immigration criteria, build an international school for Japanese students since the 1990s...and when jobs are at a low and you need to speak Mandarin and Cantonese as a job requirement and the housing is bursting at the seams, you blame the new vulnerable immigrants working at fast food restaurants to explain why you need to speak Mandarin and Cantonese for job.

There is nothing wrong with immigration if it is properly regulated. There should be a standard to earn immigration and the system needs to be strict with youth who come here as students. So many immigrants don’t even bother to learn the language. The hospitals are over crowded.

I am Canadian born citizen, unemployed, 2 and a 1/2 years. Because I didn't know that the Trudeau government in 2022 when I lost my job due to the pandemic was allowing them to import T.F.W's as executive assistance my level of experience into my industry. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get an interview withe almost 20yrs of experience and I was trying every trick in the book but a week ago I learned that they brought in over 2 years 300,000 admins at all levels from E.A's to receptionist now. So imagine my horror and shock to learn that 5 days ago. But you walk in everywhere. And it's just Indians from every part of South Asia and I am all for immigration I'm a child of an immigrant, but immigration is a science When dealing with a country like Canada, where it's designed to be many cultures like a 20 bean soup. You're supposed to try and keep it at being a 20 bean soup and within 3 years it became like a 2 bean soup. It's a science where you're replacing your dead, and then you bump it up like 10% to grow the population slowly with GDP so that you don't have so many Canadians. Unemployed and temporary foreign workers that come are employed. So everybody's contributing but the way they did the open door everybody bum rush. And over run the country. Our economy is now 60% dependent on people who aren't residents. They're temporary which means when they leave our fake economy is actually only built on 40% to 30% of Canadians. That's an economy that will crash because it's never supposed to be weighted that way, Canadians are supposed to be 60% to 70% of the economy and foreign workers are to be the rest. So we're in trouble when they finally go home, but they need to put a moratorium on PR's, Work permits, LIMA's, T.F.W's and restrict all educational institutions on how many Students they can accept so private schools don't scam students by taking their money then telling them they don't have a seat for them to attend class that is just criminal and do so untill end of 2025 and then review status again for 2026. So Canadians can have a shot at getting work and then slowly introduce them back in as needed for proper slow population growth and not just a free-for-all ability to work anywhere in the whole country. Major cities and everything like that. So people like me can finally get back to work.

Provided that nurses have to complete their certification coutse from their home country which is quite lengthy and sometimes unattainable because of the excess work load on nurses in private hospitals in India especially in Metropolitan cities.\nSo make the policies easier for foreign nurses by taking the experienced nurses and ask them to complete their German Language course once they arrive in Germany probably while doing their bridging nursing program ??

I grew up in Vancouver, Richmond and South Surrey/White Rock. I have white, asian and indian friends. I have the same group of employees for my business. The issue is the new immigrants are not vetted the same way they used to be. Its not that its Indians, Chinese, etc, etc, its about who they are letting in specifically. The standards changed when the Liberals took power again in 2016. Nothing against Indians other than the standard of who we let in. We are letting in the lower grade of individuals than what we did before. My IT guys, who are Indian, agree. They say the government lowered the standard. My opinion is based upon asking my friends and employees what they think and know. They know its a big problem. And it doesnt take a person to be racist to have these observations. You just need to look around and ask questions.

Immigration is supposed to HELP a country. A country is not supposed to HELP immigrants. I came here as an international student, and knew it very well that becoming a permanent resident was NOT a guarantee whatsoever! Entitled Indians demanding work permit extension or permanent residency is such a disrespect to Canadians! They need to leave.

My colleague, who is a temperary worker from Japan, told us she was kind of forced to watch some religious videos while she was working, and this guy kept telling her that he is kind of a big person who has the authority to issue Canadian visa to foreigners to come to Canada. He told her to contact him in the future when she needs visa to Canada. My collegue said he seems from India or related country.Not 100% from India. She just said he seems like. --- I would not believe that Canada has a immigration problem if i have never heard what happened to my colleague. There is so much problems in Canada, like young people facing serious drug issues, homeless issues, etc. Canada needs to deal with these issues. I hope there is less these visa or immigration issues to take away the ability for Canada to deal with issues that future Canadian children are facing.

Canada must repeat what it did in the 1930's and the 1940's. Canada needs to bring 5 million immigrants from Eastern Europe, like Poland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Macedonia etc. Just look at the Eastern Europeans in Canada, they and their Canadian born children and grandchildren have learned and speak the English language fluently. In Canada, people speak English and French. The British and the French values must be upheld. God save the King.

I was never racist or taught to see people of other ethnicities or religions as inferior so I don't hate Indians, nor do I show them disrespect unless warranted but the rampant abuse of our systems has messed up so many things. I know of large families of Indians who came as asylum seekers who'd come over separately while claiming different names so when they all come together some families are getting $30k or more per month just for being here. They drive expensive new luxury vehicles and mostly wear expensive designer clothes and are given homes while at the same time us Canadians born and raised here are struggling to even get to eat well every day or have a home to begin with. It's not entirely the fault of Indians, the blame also needs to be shared by our gov't as well since they opened the borders and have mostly waived the process of vetting who comes into our country. It's never a bad thing to have people who genuinely add to the collective greatness of a country but we have let in too many freeloaders and even criminals, the Indian gangs extorting businesses for millions in BC and Alberta for example. Nothing wrong with Indian immigrants as long as we can balance the needs and safety of everyone involved as well. Right now there is no balance and the results are catastrophic. Canada never used to be host to so much divide and hatred as it is now, we can thank Trudeau and his people for that.

Canadian Immigration laws need some serious scrutiny and reform.

For those who are already here, if promises were made guaranteeing them that they could stay after completing school, then those promises should be fulfilled. However, all immigration from India needs to be banned for at least 5 years, and then allowed in small numbers after that.

The general absence of discipline and honesty in Indian culture is a major issue. This is true for most Indians. Even legal and naturalized Canadian citizens of Indian origin are tired of this with the exception of those who feel the need to help or exploit their kinsmen. The other issue is the bad immigration policies, vote bank politics and greedy colleges which allow all this to happen.

There needs to be a moratorium on foreign students and immigrants. 5 years. We need to get our country back. We also need to change the demographic of who we allow into this country because it's driven Canada into the ground.

I think solution is very easy.\nDon't accept the immigrant to the big cities but rural area or where the labor and population are really in need.\nJust like in the US, it's highly likely to be done for the election and pro-immigration party because they become a citizen then they will support the party.

I personally used to love indians. Especially punjabis. The ones who immigrated here in the 80s and 90s were quiet, dignified and productive.\n\nThey were family oriented and blended into canadian society seamlessly.\n\n\nThis is what indians need to do in order to regain respect again.\n\n1. I am Canadian. My problem is not with the Indians, it the rate of immigration is far out pacing our infrastructures to support all of them. There's a lot of greed fueling issues. Foreigners are being exploited for cheap labor and wage suppression, indian students are being pumped into colleges at inflated rates. There was a lobby group called the century initiative that really pushed for 100mil Canadians by year 2100 that seems to have been a big part of why there was such an aggressive push. It's members were affiliated with companies that stood to profit greatly from the housing crisis.\n\nIndians are not the problem. It's a fucked up system and a lag in infrastructure. I want all that come here to thrive, and it's possible. We need to come together in order to problem solve this. \nWe can lead with empathy, and revolt with innovation. Look for opportunities to begin positive feedback loops with locals. I've noticed the accent can really make or break an interaction between Indians and locals. Really focus on perfecting the language and the local manners is my first suggestion for newcomers. \nSecondly is just to get involved. When locals see foreigners joining them in efforts to improve the community we warm up to them. When prejudice divides us, we are enabling the exploitation by the ruling classes that are disconnected from our hardship.\n\nGood luck

I'm thinking that the next government which I hope will be led by Pierre Poilièvre, will seriously opt for a solution like opening a Canadian school in India and in other countries so that people don't have to come here to study in a Canadian school/college/university. That way, they could study in their country without having to move and face difficulty in living abroad which for them should be only allowed for a certain number of years and then that they have to return to their country of origin. Once back in their country of origin should they want to immigrate here, well there is an official process for immigration that needs to be done. No skipping steps and that has to be done from outside of Canada.

These students' immigrants just need to be kicked out of canada. We definitely don't need them.
