It was never an issue of us wanting to shut down the border. We just want to keep the border AT THE PORTS OF ENTRY so thst we can control the quota per year AND vet them to filter out the bad ones. Thats not a closed border. Its a controlled border.

I earned my permanent resident status back in 2001 and joined US ARMY during war in terror and served for 8 years. While serving, I was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the middle of hot zones, dodging grim reaper's radar for many, many times. When I finally earned my US citizenship through military, I seamlessly transitioned into law enforcement career in New York for past 10 years, which I encountered with many illegal criminals with rap sheets- which some makes you think why they are still wondering in the street instead of locked up in the jail, having their freedom taken away. What is funny is that many of these illegal criminals have such an entitled mindset that they are deserve to be here in US without permit do whatever they want and enjoying these unbelievable benefits that these sanctuary city/state provides that we, us citizens don't even get- and we are paying for it with our hard earned money. I think I earned my citizenship with blood and sweat, same goes to many immigrant hopefuls that came to U.S with true American dream. It is time to take back our country and I 100% support with Trump's decision on this.

Please let us in, we want to get out of our dirty, dangerous, impoverished, corrupt country!

It just goes to show they shouldn’t be here illegally. Why would we want criminals here when we already are dealing with our own issues in the US. Why the violence towards the US officers on the border if they’re fleeing their country why behave like this they just wanted the free handouts at Americans expense. I don’t know how the government thought this was OK to have all the people come over here illegally and pay for everything when there are homeless veterans and children that are US citizens. I always keep upto date with FP news but this was so biased and failed to address the issue fully and accurately. Firstly, the economy of India or the foreign policies of India has little to do with the power of the Indian passport. According to that logic US, China and Russia should be the top 3 in the passport ranking - but it is not. @3:35 The logic is visible and the west does not need to explain it. It is the quality of the people visiting the western countries. There is a significant number of Indian citizens who would migrate without the intention to return. This fact unfortunately affects everyone holding an Indian passport. FP also needs to see that middle class in India is not at a middle class standard worldwide. I presume those countries which has slightly stronger passport than India has populations which are a tiny fraction of those wanting to travel with an Indian passport.

If you bring in a 100 million for the illegal immigrants, they will vote single-handedly every time for Democrats, which will keep them in power, which will keep us homeless, which will keep American citizens begging for food, but they will still be giving these people free handouts from the American taxpayer. Now, what's going to happen is if these people actually get jobs instead of under-the-table where they have to pay taxes, they will quit working. They will quit working. It’s not hard to understand. The US cannot and does not take care of its own poor and working class, and through 40 years of neoliberal policy has impoverished enough of its own people to no longer require much foreign labor. If Mexico wants you, stay there. The weather is better and cost of living is lower.

If I want to work in the USA, I have to apply for a visa and work permit, present my documents, qualifications and credentials, plus criminal record and health check, show that I have adequate medical insurance and enough money to fund my stay. If granted permission to come, I then have to present myself at an official port of entry.\n\nALTERNATIVELY, I can fly to Colombia, pay gangsters to guide me through the Central American jungle, sneaking clandestinely through several countries along the way, and pay the local cartel to smuggle me illegally across the southern US border. Then I get free transport to a US destination of my choice, free housing, free clothes and personal items, free healthcare and legal advice, and a work permit without all that pesky paperwork.

Let us remember that USA voted for their President and this is what Americans wanted. Please do not hate other countries Laws and Policies.

I am a UK citizen. I find it strange that Indian nationals claim to be 'proud' of their country, yet they all want to move elsewhere (UK, US, Canada, Australia etc). If their country is so great, then why do they want to keep going to other countries? And then there's the bureaucracy for those who want to visit destinations such as India. If India wants to impose endless paperwork and procedures to other countries, then it should expect the same. India was the one that started the childish tit-for-tat behaviour when the UK and Canada were restricting visa applications during the pandemic, so therefore India banned e-visa applications from Canadians and UK citizens. If India wants to behave like this, then why can't other nations? The UK is full of Indians who come here and don't want to integrate to our way of life etc, hence it's better for everyone if they just stayed in India.

She conveniently missed mentioning the real reasons why visa applications of Indians get rejected -\n1) Thousands of Indians go on tourists visas only to 'disappear' and never return. It doesn't just happen in Canada, US, UK, Aus but also welcoming countries like Thailand, UAE.\n2) Indian Visa (to visit India) itself is one of the most expensive and complicated to get for foreigners, so other countries have no incentive to make it easier for Indian citizens.\n3) Developed countries know that if they make it 'easier' for Indians to travel to their country, they will end up with tens of thousands who wont want to go back to India. It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

Most Indians I speak to here want to remove all H1B and F1 student visas. Indian origin people themselves want to prevent Indians from coming to the US. Let’s see what Trump does

Simple basic reason. Many Indians want to migrate out of India … illegally. They are asking travel tourist visas for transit countries with the aim of going to country of destination. Most of them are aiming for the US.

The reason is not economy. It's poplution and the amount of people want to trick system and settle outside. Given the poplution size, it's super risky for other countries to honour visas to us
