I think it depends on location i live in victoria, british Columbia i easily get 20 hours and yeah problems are there but still my life completely changed i became responsible and independent . Canada is the best country for students.

All my life I have dealt with racism in the US. Every.... single.... day! My kids have to deal with it in 2019.... 2019!!!!!! At work in retail, random driving, at work on the school bus with kids chanting “build the wall”, shopping in stores.... on TV with news that demonize us..... and I was an assistant manager at the store I still work at, and yes, a Black person with a big LV bag will be targeted while the actual thief that is White will get away with it. I am the only Hispanic and I am the only one over worked. And every time another minority applies, they last a week because they notice how they are also overworked and treated. Is this life Humane? During past 18 years I have travelled lots in various countries and seen so many settled people who are origin from respective country or are settled from ages . But you also note that thay had gone through with same as beginner going through, or might b lot . I like your post, and doesn't notice any ego or proud in that . I like that . But what I mean to say is everyone from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh , before come in English country or in any country, are starting very big dreams and after step into new country they don't accept positive things and blames only those countries where thay have gone for higher education or for earning money. Still they stay there and says here is blot like india , dongle come here , or we have to do this type of job .They don't have servants there, they have to wash their clothes themselves, cook themselves and clean house themselves . That's why thay are saying bad words for that country and still they want path of permanent residence of that country. I am not against of india but if you are staying in English country for 6 months, I request you please make video for how government works for their people, how smooth you can run your business without giving bribe to government officers , how police officers are doing their job and how pure is system . And please all these compare in India and suggest life is easy there or not . I love my country and during my 18 years in UK , I came back to India with my family to settle down the rest life but because of some government officers ( on each step asking bribe for business) , and not getting support from government, decided to go back to UK .I mean to say in English country there is value for poor person or for rich person. In india government hospital are free but look how they treat the patient. Please compair each sector and make video. If you do this would be very grateful. I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

I grew up in Brampton in the 90s. Sure, it's become a lot more crowded. But still I love it here. The people are nice and I get to experience so many cultures. I've even had free lunch many times at the Sikh temples here. For people hating Brampton and saying USA is better, have you ever been to The Bronx NY or Newark NJ? They look like third world countries and you can't go out at night. I don't see any reason for hating Brampton other than racism.

They came from poor countries too, but they still followed the law. A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

I think you probably messed-up your case Jose. You have to give probable causes of danger back in your home country. Its not luck. Its a process. And you can still get humanitarian. with respect to the job situation I am not really surprised at all. The higher up you go in terms of qualifications requirements is the less likely you are to find discrimination based on names in Toronto. \n\nThe real discrimination is at the bottom of the pay scale where the people making the decisions are less likely to be university educated and more likely to be say a white forklift driver who came up through the ranks and has been promoted through length of service rather than and specific qualification. He is likely tp still hold on to that Èthey are taking our jobs È mentality.\n\nAnother thing to consider in this Ontario/Toronto employment thing too is this. Ethnic employers tend to discriminated HEAVILY against anyone who is not of their ethnicity. The Chinese hire almost exclusively Chinese, partly because they can pay them less than minimum wage and get away with it. Indian employers hire almost exclusively Indians for the same reasons but additionally because they can get away with any number of safety violations because Indian workers tolerate and in fact tend to violate those safety codes in a normal situation anyway.\n\nThe same with Portuguese construction workers, they can pay them way less, get them to violate construction codes and cut corner on safety without being reported by or having workers complain. Polish and Romanian construction workers the same thing.

It is a fact that people profile everyone based on appearance, language (verbal ability), and how they are acting. Unfortunately, a person with visible differences, such as skin colour, can't change into something that attracts less attention, but, a black man in a suit is still less likely to be profiled than one in everyday clothes.\n\nAlso, I am well spoken, which makes a difference in the way I am treated. If you speak in a way that makes you sound less educated or of a lower class, then you are treated differently.\n\nTry sending in a white guy who is less clean-cut and less well-spoken and see the difference in the way he is treated. Have him act a bit nervous, look around a lot, or appear to be less than middle or upper class and see the difference in how he is treated. I guarantee he won't get good offers in those apartment buildings, if he gets any offers at all.\n\nA friend once told me a story about a friend of his who was very well off. This man went into an exclusive car dealership to look at a car on display. He didn't like to appear as well of as he was, so often wore simple jeans and t-shirt. When he asked the price of the car, the salesman took one look at his clothing an told him he couldn't afford the car. White profiling at its finest.

They should be found immediately, arrested and subsequently deported back to the US to face whatever charges, and then deported back to his home country... Period...

growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -

Getting a visa or any form of legal residence in Canada is a pain in the ass, I know because I've tried. I was gonna move up there full time from Los Angeles at one point and I spent 10 full months applying and waiting and still got denied. I wasn't even a refugee either, they make you prove what you have to contribute to the country as far as skills and education and it's very difficult to get accepted

You folks who always claim racism, helps to keep it alive.. It may not be the color but the way you act in an establishment. I'm white and had on an old leather jacket ove day while shopping which possibly made me look needy. That day while walking through different stores at the mall, I was followed by store personal and also by the security team while walking between stores. After not seeing what I had been looking for in all of the other stores was a new leather jacket but not seeing what I wanted in all of those places that I visited, I walked to Wilson house of Leather and finally found that new jacket. Best of all it was on sale. I've lost some weight since those days but I still have my leather coat which is a bit big for me now and starting to look like the coat that got me followed that day at the mall. Not everything is color when you get those looks and I would say it's more on the way you present yourself. \n\n Funny how it was during the times of the HURRICANES were the riots and thefts were done by people od color. Not all blacks riot and loot but those who do are a reflection of the thinking of certain races on this earth. Whites are just as guilty but no Asians, Whites Indians Arab or alien were photographed looting during trying times for many. In times of crisis can you depend on your neighborhood?

Been in canada for 10 yrs never been sick. Only time I needed heath services was for my 1rst child last year. Went 7 months of pregnancy tests and exams paid nothing.\nI spent 2 months in NICU didn't pay a dime.\nTook 6 months parental leave still got income coming (could have taken 12 months since my spouse doesn't work).\nI don't care how rich I get. I'll always support universal health care. It worked for me.

I still get followed(STALKED) in stores that I regularly spend a good amount of money in.. I can't stand it.. We had one of the grocery store staff asked by management, to run out and flag my cab because i had looked at a toy but ultimately decided not to buy it.. They assumed i stole that giant toy.. That I totally didn't end up buying with my $220 worth of groceries.. Ridiculous! I regularly spend my fair share!!

America is not all about war war war and guns just because we have a big military jeez! And not everyone here has a gun, there are some people that just don't like them for different reasons.\n If you come to a place like Texas yea just about everybody here has one I do, but there are still people even here that don't like um. You can't be an expert on another country by being there 100 something days. And I don't understand where everybody has this impression that all Americans are fat. Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. In every state you will find hundreds of gyms and plenty of muscled up fit Americans.\n As for the health care thing, I don't get it either but that was Obama momma and his stupid ideas, he was trying to destroy this country on purpose you know he's a muslim and we will never let one of those bastards sneak their way in office again. Now that Trump is in office he is trying to fix that or make it better some how. I have often wondered why can't we have a healthcare system like Canada's but America spends all of it's money on so many things in the world because of our position on the world stage we just can't work that out, thats what happens when you're the world super power.\n Most Americans have health insurance through their employer, a certain amount is taken out of our paycheck every month and if I get sick or have an emergency I pay a small co pay at the doctors office which is 35 dollars and emergency room co pay is 150 the insurance pays the rest.

They deserve every ounce of speculation. Statistically most likely to perform acts of terror. And majority Muslim countries crimes against humanity are probably highest. Not all drunk drivers crash but you still get worried when you see one.

well I am a Christian Canadian and I fear for my life because Islam is a political movement made to look like a religion and Islam believes in hating and killing anyone who is not Islamic and Canada is getting closer and closer to sharia law every time the law here excepts one of Islam's rules and all those people want to do is take over the world and Canada is rolling out the carpet and bowing down to Sharia law but I want to know is this still Canada or is it a Islamic State because it's starting to look like the latter to me.

Follow our laws & traditions or GET OUT!! Don't expect us to follow your laws & traditions when we go to your countries!! When people go to an islamic country they are expected to follow the islamic laws (eg. women are expected to wear a table cloth on their head - ludicrous!!). Yet the same is NOT respected for American laws - muslims do NOT respect our traditions or they would take off the bed sheets & table cloths while they are in our countries (as we wear them for you in yours). It's only fair. If you don't like it then go back to your country and bring your creepy traditions with you. Women walking around in America with bed sheets look CREEPY and oppressed, whether you say you want to wear your table cloth or not, you still look OUT OF PLACE and MAKE yourself a minority. You segregate YOURSELVES. America is NOT interested in becoming a muslim country at ALL!!!! Follow our laws & traditions or GET OUT or don't expect us to follow your laws & traditions when we go to your countries!!
