All these morons thought this idiot was going to lower prices of food, goods, and gas. Good luck with that. \nHis first day in office he is going to put huge tariffs on Canada, China, and Mexico. \nThis in turn will make prices go UP considerably, Simple math Trump could never understand. \nOh, and wait until there is NO ONE to work the fields . Vegetables and fruit will be sky high. \nUnbelievably, this is what people voted for
2024-11-26 0
Tariffs ya ok, you don't think that Mexico and Canada will raise the price of goods to compensate? Not a good idea imo.
2024-11-26 0
Canada and Mexico will not take it lying down! Enough of Trump and his crazy nonsense! I can't even imagine the extent of his ignorance on important economic matters and every other matter. This must be how insanity looks and sounds like. Americans will have to deal with him themselves. He is so full of it!

When Trump is put in office, he’s putting all of us at risk specially with China putting those tariffs Canada and Mexico have worked with us, but those other entities like North Korea, China, and other countries that don’t like us like Putin is.
2024-11-26 0
The Central Bank of Canada should reduce US Treasury Bill purchases. Mexico should do the same. China already has significantly offloaded US debt. When a Country weaponizes its dollar, it’s time to part with it.

Free trade has never existed and if anything has only benefited the U.S. He's just posturing and throwing around his weight because he thinks he's high and mighty. He's got a few loose screws and will damage any relationship he has with Canada, Mexico, or any country dealing with the U.S. And the sad thing is, we're all going to pay for it.
2024-11-26 0
Canada and Mexico have trade agreements with European countries and China. American companies and citizens will pay more for everything. Nice veggies from Mexico, +25% more. Construction lumber from Canada, +25%. Houses will cost more. Walmart is already the biggest purchaser of Chinese goods in the world. Tariffs on those as well? Plus 25%.
2024-11-26 0
America, a country that manufactures next to nothing thinks they have the leverage with pricing, simply because they purchase so much? What other options will America have if the target Canada, Mexico and China? It takes decades for infrastructure , willing citizens and raw materials to catch up in manufacturing

Now watch when trump supporters blame democrats cause tariffs raise prices. Not only does Trump want to climate migrant jobs, but he will eliminate all the money migrants and, yes, illegals spend on goods and services that greatly help our economy. We need Canada and Mexico more than they need us.
2024-11-26 0
What borders on high degree of stupidity ? Mexico and Canada !!
2024-11-26 0
That can’t be good. Putting a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico could cause a lot of problems. First, they might fight back by adding their own tariffs on U.S. goods, which would hurt American farmers and businesses that sell products to those countries. It would also make things we buy, like cars and food, more expensive, which isn’t great for anyone.

Still trying to figure out why other countries are responsible for the American border???? \nIt will be interesting to see what the independent free trade agreement between Canada and Mexico is going to look like...
2024-11-26 0
The tariffs are already working in less than 8 hrs. ??? Both Mexico & Canada’s presidents called Trump !
2024-11-26 0
In 1930 American politicians decided to significantly increase tariffs \nand 25 other countries immediately responded by imposing significant tariffs\non American products and the trade war made the depression significantly worse.\n\nTrump's trade war won't likely lead to a depression but it will make things \nworse for almost everyone.\n\nExpect higher inflation, economic stagnation and also economic disruption \nas American companies can't suddenly and magically create new production \nto replace imports and can't do it as cheaply or they would already have been doing that\nand American exporters are going to face tariffs and sanctions imposed \non their products by other countries.\n\nThe extremely integrated car manufacturing industries in the United States, Canada and Mexico could be thrown into chaos.\nAn average car part crosses a border about 8 times during production.\nHow the heck do high tariffs deal with that standard car production situation?\n\nTrump would know all this if he thought about history or\nabout how the North American economy works or thought at all\nbut thinking is not something that appeals to Trump.\nInstead he just spouts out whatever random idea pops into his head \nand calls it policy.

So if Mexico and Canada somehow stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States \nis Trump in return going to bring in adequate gun control laws so that the flow of smuggled American guns into Mexico and Canada is stopped?\nMexico and Canada should demand that in return.\nSmuggled American guns are responsible for a huge proportion of the shootings and murders in Mexico and in Canada.\n\nAnd I doubt very much that there is significantly more fentanlyl entering the United States from Canada than is entering Canada from the United States.\n\nAnd completely stopping the flow of fentanlyl sounds like magic.\nIt's impossible.\n\nAnd the whole reason for the movement of fentanlyl is the demand in the United States \nso even if Mexico and Canada could completely stop the flow of fentanlyl \nthere will still be fentanlyl in the United States - either imported or produced in the United States.\n\nI don't believe that Trump doesn't really cares about fentanlyl addicts.\nHe just wants an excuse to be a bully and to express his xenophobia.\nWho believes Trump really cares about fentanlyl addicts? Nobody.
2024-11-26 0
everyone knows that addiction and homelessness started because we did not have tariffs on mexico and canada
2024-11-26 0
Canada should turn off the oil and gas to the United States as should Mexico
2024-11-26 0
Canada: tear up Free Trade. Certainly when the term for the latest free trade agreement come to an end Mexico and Canada do not show up with negotiation team. In other words Make Free Trade Dead (MFTD)
2024-11-26 0
Trump made the agreement with Mexico and Canada for free trade. Now puts a knife in their backs. Proves Trump can not honor agreements.
2024-11-26 0
Its very simple\n84% of Mexico exports go to the U.S.\n77% of Canada exports go to the U.S.\nTrump has more leverage and he knows it.\nCNN isn't being honest again ?
2024-11-26 0
Trump is about to get some lessons in how the country & the world has changed. He is gonna start off pissing of Mexico & Canada who've always been friends of the U.S .. how dumb & all over these ridiculous tariffs
2024-11-26 0
mexico and canada should join BRICS if those tariff goes through
2024-11-26 0
this is literally just a negotiating tactic of imposing tariffs to get the border countries to stop the flow of immigration and drugs/cartel gang activity from there own side and for them to pay for it with there own money while we do what is needed on our side of border and then there will be no tariffs imposed on Mexico or Canada if you can't see this then you shouldn't be concerning yourself with politics or business as it will be too much for you to understand
2024-11-26 0
Canada Mexico was simply put tariffs on everything imported by the US, and it's going to be hilarious to watch Trump voters suffer because they're just going to pay skyrocketing prices
2024-11-26 0
funny how you’re still believing this legacy media as they have yet to say canada is willing to cooperate. this is all a negotiation tactic and the mexico government is only trying to save face with the cartels. she’s making sure her and the family is safe by her statement lol
2024-11-26 0
Racist Trump has not been sworn in and he is already attacking the Mexican President, American consumers will pay more for imported products not Mexico, Canada and China.
2024-11-26 0
It is unfortunate that we are going to destroy NAFTA 2.0 with Canada and Mexico . Mexico has options, and the Chinese are already fulfilling México needs. China has already bought most of South America infrastructure 8n key countries isuch as Chile, Peru, Ecuador etc. Home prices are going to be up on new houses because most of our building woods and metals come from Canada. Furthermore, auto parts and building components for most household appliances are made in Mexico. This is going to hurt the American consumer and the poor.
2024-11-26 0
Mexico ,canada n china need usa more than ever.Tell them to adhere to USA.

CONTROLLED LEGAL IMMIGRATION IS SAFER FOR USA ??, CANADA ??, MEXICO ?? ETC ...\n But UNCONTROLED ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION BY NIAVE GULLIABLE POLITICANS IS A HAZARD TO NATIONS COMMUNITIES AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS THEMSELVES RIP⚰️? ? ???
2024-11-26 1
Even as an American, I fully support Sheinbaum on this. She shouldn't take this mess from Trump, who doesn't truly know the effects of these proposed tariffs. An American politician trying to play hardball with Canada and Mexico is some nasty work.
2024-11-26 0
So basically Trump's border plan, again is make another country deal with it - so instead of Mexico will pay for te wall, Mexico and Canada will pay Tariffs? Umm.. that's not gonna work and sounds like just like his non-existent health care plan, there is no border plan either.. FAFO!!
2024-11-26 0
MEXICO AND CANADA....LOVE..... TARIFFS ....THEY WANT A 40% TARIFFS
2024-11-26 1
I support Mexico and Canada there should be no terrace against them.
2024-11-26 0
As employees of GM/Chevrolet, I am extremely worried about the potential impact of Trump's tariffs, particularly on Mexico and Canada. Our products are manufactured globally, so I am curious to see how Trump's supporters would react if the prices of vehicles like the Silverado and Tahoe increased by 35%. Get ready, America, because we may be in for four years of unprecedented chaos.
2024-11-26 0
Don't worry mr. Trump. Canada and Mexico has had plenty of time to prepare for your tariffs and other stupid racist person that you are
2024-11-26 0
Would be hilarious if mexico, canada, europe and china collectively tell the u.s to go to hell and cut all ties and trades to them.

Definition of Maquiladora: A maquiladora is a manufacturing operation or factory in Mexico, typically located near the U.S.-Mexico border, that assembles goods for export, primarily to the United States. These facilities take advantage of lower labor costs in Mexico and benefit from duty-free or reduced tariffs under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), now succeeded by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Companies often send raw materials or components to these factories, where they are assembled into finished products, which are then exported back to the U.S. or elsewhere.\n\nThe maquiladora program was established to boost employment, attract foreign investment, and promote economic development in Mexico, especially in border regions. (answer provided by Grok).

We have heard big talk from mexican leaders before only to see them bow down . I dont think much of what she says america pretty much owns mexico at this point . Canada too .
2024-11-26 0
Bravo to the Mexico's President. Canada's Prime Minister made similar statements. Plus he said Canada is concerned about the large number of illegal guns entering from the USA. He also said they would impose tariffs on the goods coming into Canada from the USA. Note Canada exports the following to the USA so imagine how a 25% tariff would increase the price of: Canada's main exports to the United States are:\n- Mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products: In 2023, this was the top export, valued at $128.51 billion\n-Vehicles other than railway, tramway: In 2023, this was valued at $58.21 billion\n-Machinery, nuclear reactors, and boilers: In 2023, this was valued at $33.75 billion \n- Other exports from Canada to the United States include: Baked goods, Canola oil, Beef and pork, Chocolate, and Frozen fries and other prepared potatoes

MEXICO CANADA MONEY TALKS, YOU WILL SOON HAVE TO ABIDE.
2024-11-26 0
My friend’s family migrated from Mexico in the 50s. I remember his grandmother talking about how progressive, fair, and prosperous the US was by comparison. Now, Mexico, it has its problems, seems more on the right path than US. Also, shout out to Canada. We’re neighbors and allies. Not adversaries.
2024-11-26 0
Trump is merely issuing a challenge to both Canada and Mexico to start getting their affairs in order.
2024-11-26 10
I wouldn't expect Mexico or Canada to cooperate with the USA on much of anything after this.
2024-11-26 0
Canada and Mexico are the pillars of the USA economy. Without them, we shall collapse.
2024-11-26 0
The fun part will come when Mexico and Canada turn to China to fill the opening in trade and just X the US out of the entire convo. Then we’re truly fucked.
2024-11-26 0
Mexico President on fire?. Im from Germany and i can not wait for the EU to get more deals done with Mexico, Canada, Mercosur, China and outplay Trump. His voters wanted this wannabe dictator, and now they will proably get the whole North Korea experience?....
2024-11-26 0
Time to fight Mexico and Canada... Trump just torn up NAFTA.
2024-11-26 0
