We can't even take care of her own people and yet they wants to take care of all of them. No we have to take care of our own first. These people need to go back to their own country and straighten out their own countries.

We cannot save people from other countries when we have our own people drowning! Our own veterans homeless! Our own people not being able to afford rent anymore! Our tax money needs to help our own people first. The day our people are doing well then we can help but until then we need to focus on our own. I cant even afford a home with my husband due to the cost doubling-tripling! And our health insurance is $800 A MONTH! Employee provided! We dont make 6 figures even so how is it fair they would get free medicaid while we pay hundreds. Its not fair.

This is what Dominican Republic has to deal with every day with Haiti , but alot of people in media want to call us racist and protecting our borders too. Every country should be able to protect their people and nation. People have been there for days even months, and everyone has the right to come into this country but the process of doing that is a joke and really bad and long process, and that’s the problem they need to fix on how people get here and seek a temporal or permanent stay in the us depending on their situation, that’s how it should be done or at least an attempt to release the tension in the border.

We have an aging population, which means we either need high immigration that worsens the housing crisis or higher taxes to pay for growing healthcare and pension costs. Neither option is good and both paths lead to increases political and economic instability. Demographics is one of the main reasons the OECD has a poor outlook on growth in the long term.

I left China to avoid a brewing housing crisis and ironically I now live in Canada ?. Canadas biggest problem is over relliance on US. If they allow themselves to trade with Asia it would be beneficial. Not only that if they stop being US bitch and let Chinese businesses in it might help them. They are playing a game where they will always loose. Canada need policies that incentivize investment from outside. Making Vancouver a tax haven (not for residential property but investments in business) if you invest in business you wont get taxed or taxes are competitively lower, something like ireland and give incentives for startups. 0% tax on startups and keeping low and competitive tax for local industry even later on would help. Vancouver has potential to become something like Singapore or Hong Kong. As of right now Canada has all the policies that discourage investment.

big problem with the housing is also trudeau taking in so many immigrants and refugees before having enough available housing for everybody. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

The difference is the quality of life in Canada is ranked by multiple organizations as significantly better than in the US. Better Education, Public Healthcare, and a strong economy mean less stress. Health Insurance in the US is hugely expensive. Incomes may be higher in the US, but so are things like the Health insurance, prescriptions etc. Canada has fewer bankruptcies if someone gets sick, and better social benefits for things like maternity leave... We don't have the huge population, but we also don't have many of the huge problems, like large racial conflicts, high crime rates, gun violence and economic discrepancies... And let's not even mention the vast political polarization in the US fed by disinformation and a free-for all social network where 'truth' long ago became not important, whereas winning is everything. Even if a former president needs to organize an attack on Congress... Overall Canada is a more desirable place to live.

It’s not about where you are but who you are where you are. If you ran to the US with spirit of lust, prostitution, drug dealing, anger, bitterness, rage , unforgiveness, lying, stealing, killing or destruction, you will encounter the same hardship you encountered while in your own country. POPULATION. \n\nCompared to countries like denmark, sweden, japan, france, uk, etc. we have a much bigger country to maintain landmass wise. Infrastructure. All I will say though is leave the huge metropolitans like Toronto and Vancouver. Everyone wants to go there because they think 'theres more opportunity' ugh. The idea of Ontario or BC is just a big nope for me (although I go to BC every couple years, love it there I would not want to live there).

This country seemed like a paradise when I was growing up, our family had a doctor, we could get healthcare access quickly, my parents bought a beautiful home for cheap, and my dad started a successful company, while my mom was able to stay home and raise us.\n\nThese days both partners need to relentlessly work to even afford a place where raising a family is extremely difficult, healthcare treatment takes hours of waiting, and costs of basic services are through the roof. In BC we have only 1 government-run car insurance corporation, and they charge me $500 a month for my work vehicle, despite me having a nearly clean record.

It's too many people coming into the United States. Highly overcrowded. The US needs to start taking care of their own citizens first. There's homeless Americans right here that are citizens, there are hungry people right here in the US that are American citizens. They need to start helping their own first. These Americans should not be without anything. And then United States is quick to help other states before they help they own. It's really a shame. Let them in. They will build the housing we need. Right now for every 5 contractors that is retiring we're replacing them with only 2. They will pay taxes. It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Our Homeless and Veterans displacement is out of control you keep moving them kicking out of places then they set up some place else you do nothing for the it’s our own citizens that are doing Gods work Feeding them Trying to get them what they need out of their own Pockets and Donations it’s not the Government taking care of them they don’t even give them Vouchers to get a motel room so they could take a shower sleep in peace in a real bed come on get it together

Whereas 3rd world Asian citizens who legally apply for visa are always being denied even if they’ve shown bits and pieces of their soul because of all the requirements apart from the fees needed to be paid for the visa. The US, Canada and Europe are so much kinder to illegals regardless of how poor these illegals’ circumstances are.

Be thoughtful in what you say, these people are often fleeing situations we can’t even comprehend. That man running with his baby , the weeping girls, the teens all alone … we need compassion AND boarder strength. Just remember their need to leave is real.

Medicare sucks! Even as a privileged white person having just moved cities not province and after 3 years and 2 cancers I still don't have access to a family doctor. Forget about any tests or diagnoses because you are told you need to have a family doctor to have access. People die of curable diseases here more than in many other developed countries. Can you see how they control medical expenses we pay for in Canada?

It's embarrassing that America gives immigrants free health care insurance\nEct, but can't even put its own people that need help first it's embarrassing we've become a county of acceptance instead of doing things that need to be done or saying things that need to be said I'm moving to Amsterdam within the next year already started the papers and process ❤?

I love my people but damn this is just wrong. America is a great place to be but please for the love of God stop this it’s so wrong and makes us look even worse. There are good people that want to come but with due process. There are already people here that need help first before we can help anyone else.

I don't agree with open borders. we need to take care of our own 1st but I can't help but feel pain about this.. all these people don't even have bags with them. I couldn't imagine how bad it must be to leave my home with only the clothes I have on in hopes for a better life... \nI honestly don't have the answer but our world is so messed up... so sad ....

we can’t even find a home to buy that actually fits our family and our needs for less than 300k right now. and we make damn good money. and it’s still feelin hopeless and impossible. what the fuck. also idk how bad it is where they’re coming from but here is NOT the shining star it once was. this is one of the worst times in my lifetime to want to move to america and live the american dream. in my opinion. it’s aaaallll out of sorts right now. i wouldn’t even know where to start and it would take me days to list off the reasons.

This is impossibly accurate, even down to deporting then for bullshit reasons. It’s more about being deported because you or your kid have a disability, but the point still stands.\n\nWe really need to change our immigration policy, it’s from the time when we fully stole the country and still treated the native peoples like shit.
