Canada has a very high standard of living, it's not exactly welcoming to people who are not familiar with that status. If you don't come prepared or think it's all gravy you're delusional, life is hard anywhere you go. We just benefit the very lazy with many welfare programs, that you can take advantage of, honestly, or dishonestly whom i know many who abuse the system.

To have, apparently, no English whatsoever after so many years does not indicate a desire to integrate. The (once) United Kingdom's seriously overburdened NHS spends 23 million a year on translators in 128 languages and many 'migrants' see this as an entitlement; indeed, it is a disincentive for some to even bother trying to learn English. This particularly pertains to many migrants from the middle-east and china and one Afghan patient whose family are regular beneficiaries of both the NHS and its translation services recently claimed (having been here for several years) that his wife (only in her 30s) would not be learning English because; 'It's too difficult' so for some, unfortunately, there is no will at all to assimilate. Housing and social security payments are, of course, part of the package and these individuals produce no net benefit at all either socially or economically and it's getting worse so spare me the bleeding heart rhetoric we keep hearing from mainstream (almost exclusively liberal) media. The BBC which is funded by the British Taxpayer cannot be relied upon to tell the truth or give the facts and continues to actively promote uncontrolled 'migration' so I think it's fair to say that they are fully facilitating the 'Kalergi Plan' and the decimation of the cultures and peoples of Europe!

Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. You owe it to Canada, give something back before you start taking.

I may be wrong on the number but I think we have 54,000 homeless people many of them children and not enough shelters to house them. We live in one of the coldest countries during the winter many died Frozen on sidewalks. And now our dear prime minister is going to house refugees who entered the US illegally and fled to Canada because he told them they were welcomed. Justin Trudeau has become an embarrassment to us.

It’s a tough situation for the USA. We have a record number of immigrants here. There’s no easy or nice way to enforce the law. \n\nOne thing also that has hurt immigrants is they vote 80% for Democrats. You may not think it’s a big deal but it is to Republicans trying to prevent too much socialism from taking hold. That causes more resistance to immigration. Traditionally immigrants, as they stay longer in the USA, become Republicans and we reach an equilibrium. If too many immigrants come in a short period, there is not enough time to acclimate them and maintain political stability.

To think that any country on this planet are able to just take in all the refugees in the world is simply not realistic. Yes many Syrian have gotten refugee in Canada but Syria is a whole country at war. Canada will welcome you with open arms but you will still have to follow the law.

This is insanity. I think when the Healthcare and Education System gets too overburden with many new migrants, Canadians will have enough. They enjoy their free Healthcare and other services and will not let those go wayside.

Canadians will have to pay to help house these folks during what will likely be prolonged hotel stays (not just days or a few weeks, but possibly months), it may be better to just help them by paying for a one-way plane ticket back to their original point of origin (or to the nearest safe country to it). Of course it is ideal to help those in need, but we have to think of the many people here who are already in need amongst us. Overall, time to secure our borders ????!

multicuulturism isn't the problem in Britain for Sikhs, hindus, Budhists, jews or virtually any religious or cultural group you can think of. All of these groups are completely integrated into British society ,and for them and with them Multiculturism works. The problem is with Islam which is a monoculturist monotheistic culture that doesn't mix, doesn't assimilate but does everything it can to introduce creeping Sharia law and Islamic social structures into the host country to creat Islamic conditions wherever they can and have the expectation that we will be assimilated in time into their culture .This is the essential imperative of Jihad which they couldn't separate themselves from if they tried.And in this ,they are a little like the Borg. I hate that at my work that we have a 5 foot rule; if a customer is within sight in 5 feet of you, you are to ask them if they need help with anything. Whether or not we suspect them of stealing. We don't discriminate racially, we do this with every person who walks into the store. Which is ridiculous because our store is very small and we have anywhere between 3 and 6 employees on the floor at any given time. So, inevitably, every customer is offered help many many times in their visit. I am always worried that a person of colour will think I'm profiling them, when I'm really not. I genuinely just want to know if they're finding everything they need or have any questions. If we were to racially profile based on the people who have stolen from us in the past, we'd be going after every white person who walks in the store. In my 3 years working there we have had only white people steal from us. So sick of the race issue, we're all humans. The amount of melanin in our skin should not matter.

The issue is that the intending migrants and the general public are ignorant as to asylum law. The public think of asylum as some far reaching, grandiose humanitarian gesture- when the truth is that asylum laws provide an EXTREMELY LIMITED basis of relief. \n\nMerely coming from a dangerous country is NOT enough to win asylum, in the U.S. or Canada. A person must prove they are specifically persecuted, by the GOVERNMENT, because of some specific basis. A Central American claiming Central America is full of gangs and poverty, while true, is NOT a basis for asylum. This is why it's my personal belief that the thousands of Haitians making a run for the Canadian border have an almost zero chance of receiving asylum- ESPECIALLY after NOT living in Haiti for many years. \n\nIn spite of this, migrants still make these claims because it forces the country to go through a time consuming legal process, and is a way to buy time and prevent their deportation. Or perhaps allow them time to find a local job, continue their education, or have a child born in the country and then make a humanitarian argument to allow them to stay, even after losing their asylum case. \n\nThe truth is, unless a country holds asylum seekers in detention for the entirety of the process, it's a given that failed asylum seekers will NOT return to their country of origin, and will simply go underground.

The most racism I experienced in school was from teachers. Its the most profound kind of racism, because they are authority figures. The thing is when your fellow students display racism it doesn't have the same gravity as it does when your teacher does it because you know your teacher does know better but they truly believe it.In University, I actually had a teacher give a lesson that was so tinged with racism that it really broke me down, because what I've come to realize is that so many people think that being racist is saying actual racist words and don't understand that perpetuating stereotypes are the most prevalent forms of racism.  It is demoralizing because it feels like a losing battle when your teacher is perpetuating racially disparaging ideas to an entire class, and you think about how many people are going to be influenced by that idea and in turn perpetuate it. I realized that this teacher really insidiously believed what she was saying was true, but that it just wasn't politically correct to say it. The main principle of white privilege is that white people get to be individuals but people of colour get grouped together by the most base stereotype of their race.  I don't think Black-focused schools are the solution. I think more integrated schools with diverse populations of students and teachers are the solution.\n Then there are concrete issues of race, space and the law. For example when you come to realize that carding continues in Toronto, and that most residents do not care that young Black men are being harassed and treated like criminals by the police because it does not affect their community, it makes you wonder if people are only inclined to feel empathy for those who look like them.

You folks who always claim racism, helps to keep it alive.. It may not be the color but the way you act in an establishment. I'm white and had on an old leather jacket ove day while shopping which possibly made me look needy. That day while walking through different stores at the mall, I was followed by store personal and also by the security team while walking between stores. After not seeing what I had been looking for in all of the other stores was a new leather jacket but not seeing what I wanted in all of those places that I visited, I walked to Wilson house of Leather and finally found that new jacket. Best of all it was on sale. I've lost some weight since those days but I still have my leather coat which is a bit big for me now and starting to look like the coat that got me followed that day at the mall. Not everything is color when you get those looks and I would say it's more on the way you present yourself. \n\n Funny how it was during the times of the HURRICANES were the riots and thefts were done by people od color. Not all blacks riot and loot but those who do are a reflection of the thinking of certain races on this earth. Whites are just as guilty but no Asians, Whites Indians Arab or alien were photographed looting during trying times for many. In times of crisis can you depend on your neighborhood?

I think the time is came to look ourself... There is no holy book teach us to figting each other or creat terror....the reason is behind that few people who never know Quran. Such generalizations. After listening for just one minute I conclude that you found out that lumping everybody into the same basket was stupid but it took you 25 years to find that out. Wow! More people are killed or injured traveling in car than in a mountain bike. There are 50 states in the USA so most statements you make may refer to just one or two states. Canada has 10 provinces and the health care is slightly different in each province. Wait until you have lived in any country for a few years before you can talk authoritatively about it. Canada is a good country to live in so is Australia but even better are some or the northern or western countries in Europe where health care is affordable and good and food is affordable and good. The USA has more millionaires and billionaires and a lot of them are in government. Think about that. Lots of guns and judging by the news quite a few racist cops who never get punished. Think about that too. Bad water in many places; also worth thinking about. There are more lobbyists than there are legislators and they all make money; think about that and ask yourself why.

Unlike Americans, Canadians don't want to acknowledge that racism exists in Canada. Just Look at the comments, many deny racism or think that this program is garbage. This is sick.
