As a matter of fact, if you live in California and you're looking to study a second language, you should be concentrating on Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, and Korean. Those are the languages which will have real commercial use. But if you must learn Spanish, please go to Spain. That's the only place I've heard Spanish being spoken.

I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! You can’t just live off our tax dollars and government ins., food stamps etc.. While we pay for you to live here!! I don’t reap those benefits, yet I’m paying yours!! I can’t feel bad! The way you need to do these things is not to show up on the border, but to apply from where you are. He started by being illegal in the U.S., rather than actually applying for entry as a refugee. Then, years later, he showed up on the border of Canada, again without first applying. All nations must have laws that are enforced, else you have anarchy. In 2017 there were 32000 illegal new immigrants to canada not 20000. Thats huge the size a medium sized community. I feel horrible for this family. But i also understand the need for a screening process amd the need to do thing right.

I'm sorry to hear this - Lost cases are so Rare in Canada - We're usually much more welcoming. However, is it really lost - I have a feeling that's he's an illegal immigrant, which I don't support - Everyone, wherever they are from, needs to go through the system. And The Basics, such as knowing the English language, is a must! Especially if you got a family, no one is going to hire someone without the basics.

Laws are laws you seek asylum in the first safe landing not your choice of wherever whenever. Why then can I not leave Canada and go live in another country undocumented then when I fear deportation just go to another country? Because it's illegal yeah. What most of them dont realize is they will be deported to their country of origin, not back to the US where they were illegals. The only country who cant refuse them is their native country. They need to think about the consequences of that.

He was in the States illegally. He clearly never bothered to learn English, and it looks like that for his family too.
