As a citizen trying to achieve admissions to complete a DVM in Canada, this is a required problem worth discussion. The country is in a deficit for veterinarians but one of the largest schools in Canada, OVC has increased their international admissions over domestic significantly. We need support for domestic students to increase before international students to ensure service to Canadian communities, especially rural Canadian places.

Until 90% of Americans attain the American Dream, END ALL immigration and naturalization. END ALL asylum seeking policies. These people MUST fix THEIR own countries. Until the Federal budget is BALANCED, PERMANENTLY CLOSE the borders. With all of the various trafficking and devastating impact on American communities, those borders should have been PERMANENTLY CLOSED 40 years ago. A Great Superpower ought to be able to protect its borders. So, what's REALLY going on...?

Again I never heard of the solution DORMSSSSSS! Canada dont need too many small colleges, just few in strategic areas where everyone will have access. These schools, they can accept international student but!!! They should have capacity to accommodate like having a dorrrmmmmm for the school. Im mad about this bc in SKorea, where I exchage, they have dorms, here in Canada, you have to find it yourself. We also get our food in the cafeteria which is healthier and have mang options. That 2 alone are solutions itself. You have your money, you refrain us from affecting your inflation so much, we are comfortable and safe and can build better community and many new friends while studying here. The rent could also be used by the schools for scholarship to locals than the rent going to the hands of greedy real estate investors. And now the Canadians are blaming us alone for the housing market? Blame the greedy government and schools!

Lemme lay it pretty bare as a Canadian myself… approximately 1/8 individuals (or on family scale roughly 1/5) suffers from food insecurity. That number can double when ya go farther north or into Indigenous communities thanks to food deserts…. A rich nation where more than 10% of people have to worry about something as basic as dinner day to day… if that isn’t a warning sign of a sinking ship I have no idea what is…\nOh and our housing issue is totally a cost/accessibility issue and not a shortage. There is about 3 empty residential homes/apartments per every single unhoused person living rough outside…and if we account for shelter homeless (ie those couch surfing or otherwise under a roof without a fixed residence) the rate of unhoused triples…

Nonesense... these people like to travel to prosperous places only.. if you look back.. these people would praise or like to go to the middle east when that country was prosperous.. after that they were going to the western countries like usa, uk, canada, and the europe...you can see huge migrations from all these muslism countries.. now these people want to come to India.. THEY ARE THE MOST UNGRATEFUL COMMUNITY OF THE WORLD.. THEY WANT EVERYTHING FOR FREE...

Muslims don’t see the part they play In alienating people. Saying all these programmed phrases like alhamdulilah and the whole litany makes you sound like automatons who don’t think for yourselves. If it’s so important to you, you can be Muslim in your heart. You don’t need to be “visible Muslims“. People who love God don’t have to constantly say “praise God”. It begins to seem like an affectation and a way of making yourselves stand out. “Look at us. We are special. We are Muslims.“ If you live in a society where that is the social norm OK go for it, but that’s not the case in Canada. I’m sure you know how much Muslims have been involved in terrorism. That’s not Islamophobia. That is fact. So, that is a big part of people’s reaction to “visible Muslims“. \nThe Muslim community needs to do some serious ijtihad. I’m talking about real introspection where you honestly look at yourselves and your community. Islam is In desperate need of reform. You should be at the forefront of that, but instead you are just playing out the old program which has failed in every Muslim country. First and foremost, you are human beings. The originators of Islam had their own lives, and they created what they did. You don’t have to mimic them. Live your own lives.

If a large portion of Muslims move out, that will weaken those who stay.\nYou can think of Dawah's point of view. That's an immense reward. You lived in Canada, so you know the culture, language, and psychology. With your effort, others can learn about Islam.\nNorth America is much better now (with many Masjeed and Islamic scholars). If Muslim children stay put (guided) soon (in the next 10 to 20 years), they will hold responsible (decision-making) positions and become a larger community.

I’m a born Canadian and Canada was once the envy of the world. Cost of living was decent and plenty of good paying jobs. I couldn’t imagine being an immigrant here now. Cost of living is skyrocketing and our government does nothing about it. We are taxed so high and get little in return for the high taxes. Though our healthcare system is free and We do have state of the art facilities and skilled doctors it takes forever to get treated due to high wait times and staff shortages. There are many people immigrating to Canada with high education and experience but Canada does not allow them to practice here because they were not educated here. They are forced to take lower paying jobs. Many young people are leaving because it just too expensive to live here and the political climate is not what it used to be. Growing old here is very difficult unless you have support from family or have a large enough pension account to live in a retirement community

The luxury of moving to another country isn’t available to every one of us in all direction, for your case, let us know the reasons you chose the another side with the same details, if possible. Thank you. I felt so good listening to you both. I have been in Canada since 1974, I was 9 when I came here. I've got an engineering degree fron UBC. Went back to Punjab India first time after 28 years in 2002. I felt at home soon as I got out of the Airport. Since then I've never felt Canada as my home and what makes it worse is that overall Canada is spiraling in a downward direction. The medical system, the immigration system, the housing affordability, the future of our children and grandchildren, to promote and force children into lgbtq community and on and on is just getting worse. It is not about the overall number, but the numbers of international students concentrated in certain areas that are overwhelming the infrastructure of those host communities. If there were a system in place that diversified their destination schools across Canada and better regulated those predatory fly-by-night institutions in the larger centres that outright lie to students to get their money, the problem would be solved.

Our government is so incompetent and only reactive. Never proactive and no insight. International students may impact housing shortage but not the other infrastructures (or at a minimal level) like Healthcare, roads/traffic, violent crimes, community services (homeless, drugs,etc), etc. They do not create slums and ghettos. They probably have the lowest rate of criminal records as well. You don't even need exhaustive data analysis for this, just freaking common sense.

As a realtor in London, I agree that we feel the pressure on our rental market. Rent has increased dramatically in the past 5 years. Growing families that rent are choosing to live with less space and stay where they are to keep costs down. rents could more than double by going to a new home (depending on how long they have lived in their current hime and the larger unit they will then move to.) I love our international students and support many of them find housing, but it doesn’t take away from the crisis we see. Since Covid our homeless population has exploded along with surrounding communities like St. Thomas and Woodstock.

I remember canada immigration has a certain standard and requirements. There were different immigration program such as family class business class. When it comes to student visa graduates studies were offered on funding and scholarships.recently we can see number of high school graduates to attend community College. Canadian takes grant student loan to start any program in college and universities imagine international students from developing countries where the tuition fee is almost double I don't understand the screening process of students. It has benefited to consultants and has ruin canada reputation. There are number of videos in tiktok and YouTube of people making v blog on leaving canada. I feel sad. Canada is a beautiful country but the greed of money has completely ruin the reputation.

The federal government's goal is to attract immigrants who have the capital, income earning potential (skills), and desire to be comfortable in Canada. It's clearly not easy to settle here. My great grandparents had to build not only their house but their whole town (its community, services, systems), and I doubt it's easier for immigrants today. It's probably even harder, psychologically, because immigrants now are surrounded by others who've already settled. Immigrating to a country with a lower cost of living is probably easier, but Canada's peace, multiculturalism, nature, and growth policies are quite attractive. (I've lived elsewhere, so I can compare.)

western countries want cheap and exploitable labour, here in Scandinavia they accept south east asian students so much, in low level community colleges. Just efter that you found asian student cykling in the snow to deliver uberfood and co. So sad but those people are want to come to search better than in their countries..

Yeah they are cause more then 50 children's from my community got admission in Canadian university who merely passed their high school....so I was not surprised cause 13 years ago same thing happened in UK and 99 percent of those student came back crying within six months....

The example used should have been somewhere like Conestoga, which has become an absolute diploma-mill, basically selling residency. The impact on local communities has been ridiculous and many of those students are competing for local working class jobs. Remove the residency ability and the number of students will collapse, that is what is needed. If the institutions can't prove that they can house the students they should not be allowed to bring them in. If some of these diploma-mills go bust, good. We should be putting a break on immigration anyway, to give Canada a break to integrate the millions and millions that have come in in the past two decades.

US family here. We were a big downhill skiing family, and often spent our winter vacations in the Laurentians. The exchange rate was great back in the 1990s and early 2000s. So when the time came to start looking at colleges, our daughter already associated Canada with fun, and fell in love with the University of Toronto. She was accepted. But before Canada would issue her a student visa, we had to provide evidence that we could pay full tuition, room, and board out of pocket. For all four years! They wanted an iron guarantee that she would never become a ‘ward of the state’ or consume public assistance services. We had to jump through soooo many logistical hoops for her to attend, it was exhausting to facilitate. But she graduated with honors in four years. All that time, the city was beautiful, clean, and vibrant, though not inexpensive. The St. George main campus, Queen’s Park, Bloor, Yongue Street, more. Everyone we met was friendly and respectful. We very rarely saw homeless and never tent communities. And crime seemed almost nonexistent except for bicycle thefts. Our daughter made many international friends and forged great relationships she carries to this day. So many wonderful memories. So it’s heartbreaking to hear how downhill the city has become. And the US is no different. It’s all in the politics, and neither Trudeau’s nor Biden’s policies are helping.

I left Canada but I miss somethings about Canada.\nI miss the parties\nI miss how we use to entertain at home. People fight less, there more friendlier and less angry than Americans and the average person just has more material wise, there's far less homeless people compared to America.\nThe Canadian healthcare system is just basic care, my doctors already retired. \nThe system is overtaxed. The people are overworked..it became abusive.\nI can't go back even though I miss my community in Canada.\nMemories were built there. Children were born there but it's over for me. \nThey expected people to take care of them. The Canadian elderly generation I don't accept how they treated the younger generation.\nThey are abusers.\nIt's best to stick with your own kind to avoid abuse case.

High cost of living is a for sure sign that they don't want so many immigrants living off of the system.\nPeople should start considering fixing there own family situations in there home countries.\nCanada has already proven to be a good country for immigrants but it's not that go to hub for immigrants to exploit.\nThe work has been done.\nCOVID was scary when I was there. The entire world is changing. Most major cities in the developed world are experiencing the same problems: increasing inequality, housing crisis, homeless, drug abuse. The only exception are the cities in Northern European countries like Finland where a human is not let to rot on the street. \nOur cities have to change even more to get better and accommodate the changing society. Build walking and cycling infrastructure, social housing, community centers, invest into social security nets and, most importantly, tax the land owners who have created this inequality and who will pay for it.

Southern Thailand would be perfect for you - a lot warmer - Muslim communities - as no problems unless you get to near to the Maylasia border were extremists are still active - best of luck where ever you choose.

I was a gay kid who ran away to Toronto in 1982, age 17. Minimum wage was $4/hr and a bachelor at Church and Charles was $350, a one bedroom was $400 - $425. I had a relatively successful career as a pianist/entertainer and teacher at the Y. I was never able to purchase, but rented as the real estate prices only lept and bounded as interest rates on savings declined. I can no longer afford to live in TO, but bought a 100 acre farm in Parry Sound District by cutting a cheque. I have no community... and my cohort as all approaching 60... but the Toronto of the 80's and 90's no longer exists. The discos are gone, the kids today have no appreciation of ACT or Casey House or the hell we went through. But, the virus is controlled... I am rambling, but the city is no longer a place where young disenfranchised can go to be free to exist and be themselves. I worry about the kids of today who will never have enough money to leave home and go to where life can happen. And don't tell me that a cell phone is a replacement for a physical, real existence!!

Pick a winter activity you enjoy to get you out of doors, like hiking, skating, downhill or cross country skiing, snowmobiling or hockey and you will learn to love it and appreciate the change in seasons. The right winter clothing makes it very comfortable. I live in Ottawa and there is a huge Islamic community and population here.

I think where you go now especially in the city. The housing market is getting worse and affected the rental community. Watching video, surprised me the rental was higher than minimum wage. Sad to see.

Tha fact you Muslims makes you biased but you need to understand that you need to educate yourself and connect to reality. You might be moderate but most of the hatred in the world, most fundamentals, most terror groups, most kidnappes, attacks,. illiteracy etc. Are all tied to Islam and Islamic communities. Islamic groups educate their kids for segregation and hate from breast feeding age. This is just a fact. I wish you well, I really do.

I always tell my children, the west is fun for holidays, but for living nothing is better than home or if not possible seek for a warm eastern country with large communities of your own.

As a new comer, I know it’s hard to advance your career, make friends or buy property. \nMy son is 23 and will probably never be able to own a home and he wants to leave Canada for a better quality of life. \nRaising taxes, high rent, the failing healthcare system, and poor quality of life (plus the cold weather) are all factors that should make immigrants NOT want to come here. \n\nAs far as making friends, you hit the nail on the head. People in Canada are polite, but not friendly. I find it the same here in Toronto. You’re most likely to build friendships with people you work or go to school with. I feel we lack the sense of “community” and don’t put in as much effort to maintain friendships. \nI blame the weather for this.

You can't go wrong in Dubai. I'm a non Muslim living here and it's the safest country I've ever lived in (as well as Bahrain), wonderful community, so much to do...and oodles of sunshine! It's not all Dubai bling, there are beautiful mountains, deserts, beaches. We never want to leave!

Nothing better than returning to a place or moving to a place where your values are met and you feel the ease of blending into a community. I applaud your bold decision to transfer to a place where you simply feel at one with the rest.

I support this. Canada is disgustingly atheistic and going down a very dark path. As a Christian American I could not imagine living there as anyone trying to follow any religion. But yeah so I study and learn about demographics and foreign countries and cultures as a personal hobby for going on 8 years now. I recommend Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, Malaysia and Singapore for Islamic countries that are safe, rule of law, and as a small extra bonus mostly US allies, but still have their islamic cultures and communities intact and do not commonly come under pro israel or UN voting pressure. Probably youll want to relocate to one of those countries. Qatar too but they have a bit of a history supporting extremist and terrorist groups so I cannot in good faith recommend living there. Bahrain Brunei and Indonesia you could try too but I don't know enough about them to recommend.

Born and raised Catholic Canadian and I would move to a country that was more aligned with my faith if I could, though that is hard to find! I will stay and enjoy the small community that we have built with my fellow Parishioners. \nI am sorry to hear you feel you aren’t safe here or your children. As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. The homelessness has gotten so extreme.\n\nWages havw increased maybe 3x since i was a kid, but pricea rose eveey year.\n\nAs a kid we paid $850 for 3 bedrooms. When i mo ed to my first apartment i paid $800 for 3 bdrms. My friend pays $3000 now for a 2 bedroom aptt.\n\nThere are more crimes more thefts now. My old houae was 600,000 that same house is now 1.5 mil. \n\nI make 2x what i made 3 yeara ago ans things are even more expensive than, i have less now vs when i was making less. I had an opportunity for work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia about ten years ago and I was offered about $200K without tax. The thought of my wife and three girls wearing the outer islamic garment (abaya?) was a complete no go for my family and decided to turn down the offer. Every country is not for everyone. I hope Saleh family can find a place where they can practice their religion peacefully. Even though Islamic values are more aligned with conservative party principles, I don't understand why would muslim community wholeheartedly support liberals and their degenerate principles.

Come to Suriname where we live in peace in a multi cultural community and one third of the small population is muslim

I am living in GTA since 1993. Initially I had been a factory first 11 years. Ever since i did not get job based on my skills, it was far big difference.\nLater in 2001 i started to work in IT Industry, after this10 years this industry started to decline.\nCurrently i do still find a job, but that is like a contingent worker and now i work 6 months in a year. My kids have grown up, and other than a miracle, there is nothing of a skill that can you depend upon.\nMoreover Canada has failed sense a difference between faithful citizenship and rogue communities. So rogue communities are have 2 jobs (cheat fully) and there are some people i know are working on 3 jobs absolutely have less real skills than me.
