South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Sadly the new immigration are bad Trudeau policies that India wanted deported back. Others are temporary honest Indian students that are being ripped off by Canadian wrong policies of shameless cash grab. Assimilation for new immigrants could be something in common e.g. free classical piano lessons for everyone in school. Music and language is a great first step in communication. The drug problem has nothing to do with immigration, it is the result of their own culture of drug abuse and bad Canadian policies. I think it is sad that the woman seems to be so negative without realizing the she has to care and use her power for good by demanding that no Canadian should be on the streets, this is why ALL Canadians (especially include South Asian Indians) pay taxes. where is our money going? is not the Canadian Government responsible for the welfare of ALL Canadians? we were the peacekeepers. Especially people from India, they are everywhere. The thing is, Indians also brought unfair practice to Canada. When a local store got taken over by Indians, they tend to only hire fellow Indians and leave nothing for Canadians. If an Indian got promoted into HR in a company, that person will most likely to hire Indians only. There are so many unfortunate examples around us. We need to do something! Canadian should be first in Canada.

People from India have a long, strong history in Canada due to their strong allegiance to the Queen and monarchy. They have never caused problems. If their churches thrive it's because they actually go to church whilst Canadians let theirs go to to waste. The violence we see is not random East Indians popping off on the go train, let's be honest. Their mafia is no different from the ones we have had in each culture. They are welcome imho plus they make great food.

Being an Indian living in India I can tell you one thing that mostly people who are not 'good enough' in anything pay lumsum amount of money to move to Canada. For instance, most of the students going to Canada for study, lack foundational knowledge that should've been taught to them at school. Take a GRE-like exam by randomly selecting Indians residing in this area and u will understand what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, the current Canadian govt knows this and capitalise on this problem as they have turned the education system of Canada into a money-vending machine. Furthermore, no skill development opportunities and lack of jobs intensify these problems as these individuals are never exposed in a multicultural urban setting. That is why likeminded individuals aggregate and live in silos. Lastly, for my Indian brothers and sisters, I would like to say that yall should try to assimilate with the culture rather than live in silos. That doesn't necessarily mean yall should abandon ur religion and culture, but try to participate more in various activities associated with Canadian culture. Like Im a Hindu, but I participate in Eid & Christmas as well in India.. We should be open to new experiences, especially when moving to a foreign country, one should be able to adapt.. just like one adapts to the weather, one should also embrace the culture.. Try talking to people who are 'non-Indians', have a genuine conversation, find out the history of the place and various other key milestones in the region.. mostly engage in amicable social behaviour. Holding grudge & closing doors to new interactions would not solve anything, neither for Canadians nor for immigrants.. Live and let live.. Cheers!

The situation is not the fault of the students or the Indian students. It's solely the fault of the Canadian government because no Indian student can come to Canada without a student visa. They are accepting so many students only for financial gain. This is a result of corruption. But unfortunately, all the hate will go towards Indian students even when it's the government's fault. Many students have been misled by Canadian colleges, they have invested a significant amount of money and contributed to the Canadian economy, only to find themselves unable to secure employment. As a result, they are left with no choice but to return to India and confront their families and communities. This is a major factor contributing to the high number of students returning to India in unfortunate circumstances even suicide.

Im an Indian from the state of Kerala. In my class from college nearly 20 of them came to study in Canada. Believe me these people who come are not that academically good the fun fact is that the academically brighter ones never went abroad all of them got a decent job in India itself.. I'm not saying that all of them coming are trash my ex gf now in Hamilton was extremely bright and got a decent job there..the basic issue is that Canadian government must have strict standards for foreign students Australia has it. As an Indian I feel your frustration feeling like stranger in your nation is very sad. ? Fellow Indians seeing this there is Malayalam saying that when you got to a land where they eat vipers you must eat it's middle portion. So try to become a Canadian don't turn Canada to India.

Hi True North, I'm from India not in Canada ?. if they were promised to give PGWP after course completion and they received that and now they are asking for further extension then yes send them back. But if the PGWP was not even granted to them in the first place then it's a scam, the Canadian government has to give what was promised. They contributed to your economy in dollars (which is not easy if someone is coming from India) they deserve to earn in dollars as well. Also, some students took loans as well . However, I understand Canadian citizens' frustration too but it was the Canadian government's mistake when they invited immigrants just for the sake of money.

As an Indian these so called students were dumb to leave India where growth is taking place and go to Canada, I think in long run it is good if a few get dissed. The stupid fascination with western country is purely dumb. \n\nSome even have a lower pay in Canada then India, and the leaving conditions and white collared workers becoming blue collared. Sheridan College management visits India to promote Sheridan College, to bring International students here desperately. I strongly recommend to cut the funding for Sheridan College. Sheridan College management, Union and Unionized Employees are all part of this. Sheridan College only cared about their own profit and greed. In fact, I believe Sheridan College's Brampton Campus should be shut down. That will save Canadian Tax Payers money. I encourage anyone to visit Sheridan College Brampton Campus. Look at what a mess it has become. Sheridan College has professors who don't know anything about the courses they're teaching. All the Unionized Employees and Management care about their pay cheques. Most programs at this campus are useless. This campus and most other colleges in Ontario are such a huge waste of Tax payers money. This campus looks like a Punjab College in India. It doesn't even look like a Canadian College.

Very disappointed in Pierre Pollieve over this one issue. They need to go back to India. We don't need competition for food, housing, and jobs. Aren't things bad enough right now without the pressure of all these so called students ? Pierre what are you thinking ? Kindness and compassion us Canadians have . Sadly we have extremely weak leaders in Canada. Our Canadian young people thanks to DEI can’t find summer work so they can afford the next semester at school. They came under false pretences. This video reeks of Racism, laws (if they want to be fair) can never retrospective in nature/application. All the students who are already in Canada should have the option to be eligible for a PR, they (the Indian students) went there for a better life, they have their entire existence dependent on the fact of becoming a Canadian citizen eventually. Deporting them would be a loss for India as well as Canada, as many of them will end up with depression and feeling of failure. \n\nThe Canadian government must allow these student who are already in the country to apply for citizenship and make citizenship and PR rules stricter going forward. Believe me canada is the easiest country to move from India and the cheapest one too. I'm glad i rejected to move to canada everytime they pitch me those ideas. So please do not hate indians. They all have fake admissions letters to Canadian academic institutions there are unscrupulous agents in India who are sending these students abroad to Canada using fake documents… this is what is really going own know they don’t want to leave so they are doing this ?. They should be forced to leave asap. The entitlement is just shocking they aren’t even Canadian leave leave …… enough already. We don’t need more Tim Horton workers and Uber drivers ?. We came to Canada 5 years ago, through Student Visa ( Masters) , wanted my kids to learn english too, the pandemic hit and borders closed. Plan was return. During pandemic we had to change our visa and got the PR and got good jobs,. Met great people and decided to stay because is nice for my children. What I have to say is: there is wayyy too many Indians, we didnt want to do any school work with them, we dont want to work with them, we dont want to live in their neighborhood. ( its weird to admit it), at this point, we dont want to go to Walmart, is just their irresponsible attitude everywhere , also descendents of India (2 and 3 generarion) that I met are shocked and upset with soo many and the elementary schools are packed full portables. There is no balance. Their culture will dominate in 100 years from now. This is how immigration works. The outcomes will be seen later and will change Canadian Culture forever.

I have talked to many people from India, and majority of them say they are here to work for the purpose of sending their money to their families in India, this is a problem for the Canadian economy.

I am speaking as an Indian, who lived and worked in Thailand for 2 years, and now will be moving to Europe on a specialist skills visa. Indians as immigrants have been a productive addition to any country worldwide, compared to other nationalities. But the only exception case is in Canada. \n\nThe reality is, in Canada, the majority of immigrants are only from a specific part of India (Punjab), and most of these people are deluded, uneducated and unskilled. You are 100% right, they are not there to upskill or even contribute. I can bet these people have not even lived in big cities in India itself, they come from villages and small towns and have never seen how modern societies or even cities work.\n\nI feel sad for Canadians because most of this is their government's fault. It is the leading example of a failing society, which attracts the most obnoxious group of people from around the world. This is a complete political agenda.\n\nAll being said, even if they pay me I would never come to Canada.

I am from India living in India now. Never lived or worked in Canada, but visited Canada multiple times as a tourist.\n\nThis situation is kinda tricky for everyone. While immigration is unavoidable for any nation of today, the way people immigrate to other countries really frustrates. Nations just go by whatever documents are submitted to the embassies to grant visit/student/work visas. Most of the time, the documents are cooked up or forged in order to secure entry into other countries. This is very common in India as well. \n\nIndia too have serious problem with the Canadian Govt, which openly backs & harbors terrorists from India such as Khalistanis. Of late, Canada has become safe haven for global terrorists, who need a safe shelter. I still wonder, what is stopping India from getting Canada declared a terrorist state.

Canadian university taking official bribe from India or Pakistani or Bangladeshi students instead of checking their qualifications is the main problem to begin with. You can deport students. You have right to do so. But put the universities and your government behind bars for the con business you guys have done with everyone. You cant just blame federal or JT for this issue. Provisional governments are equally responsible as well. They allowed mass international students due to their (provincial) going down economy for various factors. They made false promises to students that students can get PRI in less than a year, otherwise do you think students were willing to go to these cold areas to study without any benefits? You made a promise, now its time to fulfill.\n2. International students funds the college/school by paying fee 3 times more than a Canadian one. There was no check and balance from provincial governments on school/colleges, because they liked the inflow of $$$ within their provinces.\n3. Totally agree with you that fake students should not be getting any merci. But are all the fake students from India, not really. Both the federal and provincial governments were allowing more Indian students because they wanted to have more economic ties with Indian growing economy. \n4. Punjabi (including Sikhs) is one of the best marshal races to serve in army or security agencies. Our Canadian officials never hire personals without a proper security check. \n5. Protesting in another country where you are a student is not allowed and the act itself can get you deported. However, the scams the Canadian colleges and universities do in countries like India and Pakistan is terrible. These students pay almost double the money local kids do. They r most times highly qualified and have availed of an opportunity offered by these institutes. When such things happen, its obvious that they are unhappy. I think the Indian government needs to start issuing advisory. I don't think its worth it, I wish people understood this. The US, Germany/Europe,UK even Australia is much different. Believe it or not, a lot of these students wish to pay back student loans and get out of this scam. Canada is beautiful, but the amount of scams here, prepostrous.
