They would have the right to remove me from their country and face legal charges for breaking their laws. I am a Canadian in Alberta and the reality is that the Liberals have weakened the Canadian economy and our standing in the world. Their decision to cripple our oil and gas industry and our lack of ability export our products elsewhere in the world is an issue created by the policies of the Liberals. To impose a carbon tax and further weaker the average Canadian is terrible. There are some policies I don't like out of the U.S. but the reality is that it is never an idea to pick a fight with the toughest kid on the block knowing you will lose. Trump doesn't even want the tariffs he wants Canada to pull it's weight in defense spending and cooperation. Trudeau backstabbed Trump in the past and that won't be forgotten. We need a new government with a leader that understands more than being a drama teacher and snowboarder. Unfortunately, most of the significant issues Canada faces is the result of self inflicted wounds resulting from incompetent leadership. We didn't have anywhere close this level of issues with the Harper government. We are lucky to have the U.S. as a neighbor so let's do what is good for both nations but there is no way the woke Liberal's can do it.

Unfortunately, even if Trump has to back down and gets absolutely nothing out of this charade, he'll claim victory, and his supporter will claim it was all a brilliant negotiation strategy. (Remember, facts never matter to the American right-wing.)

Back in 2016, Trump introduced 25% tariffs on China 301-classification imports that severely damaged my business. For whatever reason, he then exempted the tariffs, but the public still assumed that they were in place. It was a perfect Trump win-win move to make the voters think that he was acting tough, while actually exempting the tariffs for us importers. Unfortunately, Biden got into office and immediately took away the exemptions and screwed us. I mention all of this in order to exemplify how nothing is as it seems when it comes to Trump. Sometimes you have to let this stuff play out before overreacting. I think that Canada made a mistake by overreacting so quickly. This will force Trump's hand to pursue the trade war, even if it was not his actual intention.

Trump's rationale of the border security issue to Canada is totally false as less than 1 percent of drugs and illegals come through Canada. Trump is just being a bully to try to get his way on tariffs for what he thinks is an economic decision to improve the USA. Unfortunately he is again wrong as Americans and Canadians will pay a lot more for goods and Trump will cause more inflation, ruin companies and many job losses across both nations.

So this mass deporation will cost $100 bil to achieve (some estimates put it at over $300 bil) and those immigrants pay approx. $100 bil in taxes (including paying into SS, which they can't use) and many of them do menial jobs for low wages that citizens do not want to do (unless you pay them more, which raises prices)... combine this with potential tariffs and this sounds like a foolproof plan for a recession with stagflation. I want to say Trump voters can FAFO, but unfortunately they are going to bring everyone down with them
